I was thinking about this the other day as the tornadoes hit. People suggest giving no federal aid to people who live on a beachfront after a hurricane hits, the homes in California after wild fires and mud slides, and the list goes on. When it comes to natural disasters, I thought people were covered by insurance so it seems the only thing federal aid should cover might be infrastructure. There's no way to predict where tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, and such will hit--- we just know they will at some point. We can't offer federal funds to one group and not another. I guess I would love to see the day we're all responsible for ourselves-- whether that means extra insurance or whatever. I like self-sufficiency. I don't know that it is the federal government's job to pay for everything. It sounds good and gets people elected but we shouldn't spend more than we collect in taxes. Kinda gets off point but just my unsolicited two cents.

Christmas Vacation or the animated Grinch.

Missiles on the dark side of the moon?! I thought that's where the Transformers lived! Now I'm wondering if the Heaven's Gate cult rushed out to catch a ride on the wrong comet several years ago! This one is much closer.

I think Timothy Geitner would be perfect. Their accuracy record is the same.

I think his ultimate nightmarish idea would be tighter regulations on prescription meds! -
Guru rumor
Aquaman87 replied to hitman's topic in Opinions, Perspectives, and Your Two Cents on the Iraqi Dinar
And as a musical tribute to REO Speedwagon and all self-appointed gurus, there's the ever popular rumor starter, " "I heard it from a friend whooooooo... heard it from a friend whooooooo... heard it from another..." -
Giving up!!
Aquaman87 replied to scottch's topic in Opinions, Perspectives, and Your Two Cents on the Iraqi Dinar
I started changing my interest levels as I became obsessed with site searches. Now I'll check two sites twice daily. My nephew was in town for a days and it was nice to shut the computer for those days for a break. All in moderation. Burning them, tossing them, wallpapering, all sound unwise at this point. If we're as close as we may be, why risk a stupid decision at this point? Hang in there! -
I thought Okie knew---- several times!

Info
Aquaman87 replied to slimm's topic in Opinions, Perspectives, and Your Two Cents on the Iraqi Dinar
It would be nice if the gurus could have their own forum/discussions to compile their intel into a single, unified message to present to the masses. Credibility would go up, confusion down, be a more streamlined approach. Just my unsolicited two cents (pre-taxed, of course). -
Someone called in to Clark Howard's radio finance talk show asking about the dinar. Clark said this is a very cyclical topic that he frequently gets phone calls about. The guy bought dinar at his wife's request even though he did not see the potential. Now he can't find anyone buying it back and unable to get rid of it. Clark said he has two choices. He can use it as wall paper for all it is worth now or quietly let it sit on a shelf in the closet until someday if or when it becomes valuable. He gave the caller two pieces of advice. 1) Never ever let his wife hear him say "I told you so" and 2) just tuck it away for now and never mention it again until/unless it RVs if he loves his wife. Smart guy! I got a chuckle anyway. Clark said there's no way a country will RV unless it is very stable with a solid government. From what he sees on the news, it ain't happening any time soon. I like Clark's show and wondered what he would say about the IQD. Apparently I have more faith in the IQD than he does. Sorry. Just noticed this is under Related News and not Rumors. Tried to change but couldn't.

I may sound ignorant (been called worse) but is Dinar Banker different from the Dinar Bank that was issued a cease and desist order recently? Sounded like one or more states took issue with the word "bank" in their name. Just wondering. So many gurus are accused of fraud in the past week I'm questioning almost everything.

The Peoples' Demand For The Resignation Of Barack Hussein Obama
Aquaman87 replied to Chape's topic in Off Topic posts
As much as I dislike Obama's policies and philosophies, does anyone imagine we'd actually be better off under a President Joe Biden?! He's a bigger joke and even more reckless. Plus, he's about the one person the people and the world have LESS respect for than Obama. Removing Obama from office would only help if we could remove Biden, too. My worst fear two years ago was that something would happen to Obama and leave us with a Biden/Pelosi ticket since the Speaker of the House would become the VP. There are no appealing options here. Voters get what they asked for--- change. As much as I dislike Obama's policies and philosophies, does anyone imagine we'd actually be better off under a President Joe Biden?! I don't buy the disability excuse. I have ADD and taught students with a wide range of challenges. You can either use it as an excuse, see it as an issue to understand and work with, or use available resources. Most programs have spell check options so you could type in Word or whatever then copy/paste it into a forum. There are very inexpensive voice programs that type what you say. Whatever your reasoning, people succeed at whatever they want regardless of obstacles.

I'm glad to see the original post here. I'm a former English teacher and sometimes feel overly sensitive to poor grammar. I'm glad someone posted a comment on it. If our NC Southern drawl makes people question our intelligence, I can only imagine how poor grammar reflects on our nation as a whole. Yes, people may no whut peeple meen (example) but I prefer to hold our "gurus" to a higher standard. I imagine well educated bank CEO's and (most) well placed government officials/subordinates have sharpened their grammar and spelling skills to reach such influential positions.

$1, $3.68, $5.15, $6.16, $8.25...... oh wait, I'm watching "Price is Right". Sounds good but I just want SOMETHING to happen. Cautiously optimistic.
