I used to get on the rv sites alot til i figured out that it will never happen like all the gurus are saying. It will continue to rise in small amounts. like it has been doing since the new dinar was issued. my husband bought dinar in when it first came out and it has increased in value by about $500.00 so if u are expecting to make a quick fortune, you need to invest in something else. I don't mean to be a debbie downer but i think everyone should know the truth. I have heard rv next thursday or monday since 2010. I am sure its been said longer than that. so don't get excited when the "chatter" starts.

I just tried to exchange dinar for us currency thru sterling. They won't exchange without proof of purchase. my husband bought the dinar in 2004 or 5. can't remember. He was working in Iraq at the time. He has since passed away. He never had a receipt with the dinar. Is there any reputable trustworthy place I can exchange without a proof of purchase? I never heard of having to have proof of purchase to exchange currency. can anyone help me? I would greatly appreciate it. thank you

has anybody seen this? I did the conversion today and the first time i did it it said $1.00 = .0655 for IQD. After I got my heart going again I put it in again and it says 1169 the .0655 was gone. I thought i may have hit the wrong country but i checked that and now i can't find any country with the .0655 rate. so does anybody know what is going on?

[The Central Bank of Iraq made some changes to how it operates in reference to the banks and money changers inside Iraq. In late April, the CBI decided to impose a tax on all currency exchanges (as previously mentioned in my 5 May email newsletter). The CBI auctions experienced a downturn after imposing the tax on the banking institutions and all the currency exchange markets. The initial intentions were good; however this slowed the everyday commerce in the banking industry causing far less transactions of foreign currency exchange. CBI was attempting to force Iraqi's to not conduct foreign exchange transactions hoping to increase the Iraqi dinar value. When the CBI observed its several hundred million a day auctions plummet they made the executive decision to raise the tax limit to 50k for all foreign currency transactions. After this decision the Iraqi people ramped up the CBI auctions once again. Seeing that the CBI has appeared to reverse their initial plans, my associates are saying that there will not be an RV in the month of May 2011. Regardless of the fact that the CBI has completed the Revaluation Re-denomination report. The CBI is also still waiting for PM Nuri Maliki's request to have the report delivered to him. Unfortunately, my sources are confident an RV will not be possible this month. The dinar currency projection from the recently published CBI annual report, soon to be published internally for the ministries will also coincide with no RV (May 2011). Today, I got some additional, interesting information. The new Iraqi currency has been placed on hold. With the excuse being that with all the recent activities & transitions of the CBI bank (as well as the Iraqi government) it has just not been printed. I know this may be conflicting with what some of you have been told on some forums/blogs but this is factual & up to date information. There are no bills at this time. i am with you on this. my theory is that all these guys/gurus are nothing but pumpers. it seems funny that they all have something to do with selling dinar. they start rumors of imminent rv then they start talking about buying more dinar. another site i get is from an another site in iraq. he doesn't tell people to buy and he doesn't have a website promoting other crap like some other sites that we all know. he stated yesterday that warka bank is going out of business yet all these dinar sites tell people to use warka or trust in them to keep your dinar. such a load. no one needs their advise and right now the only ones making money from dinar are the sellers and the sites that promote the sellers. dd stated that he knows okie and ali but that of course he is not a pumper. thats such b.s. why does he just happen to know all these people? don't let any of these people scam u. they are the scam, not the dinar. i wish u good luck. i for one do believe it will go up and we won't need any of them telling us what to do when it does rv. hold on to your dinar and when it rv's go to a LOCAL investment professional that u can trust.

2 May 2011 It has been a very productive week for the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI). The information from my close sources is that the Re-denomination Revaluation Report has been completed by the committee set up by the CBI. According to my sources it is finalized, after taking 4 years. The report is ready and the CBI committee is just waiting for Prime Minister Maliki to give the green light for the CBI to deliver the report directly to him. The Iraqi government has stated that they have some concerns upon release of the report and does not want the public to start to panic, manipulate prices or do anything with their current Iraqi dinar. The decision has been made to not have an education campaign with the public about the new currency as recently stated. When the Iraqi government gives the CBI the authorization to place the order to print the new currency it will take some time to ship the dinar currency to Iraq and deliver it to the CBI. I would like to make everyone aware that in absolutely no terms has Dr. Shabibi been on any Baghdad news channel speaking about an RV or carelessly given any rate in regards to anything. If he had, I would know and be the first to be honest and upfront about it. In reference to al-Warka Bank, the only update I have in regards to them is that the bank is telling depositors that they (al-Warka) are still waiting on a loan from the State Bank Rafidain for the huge influx of cash to assist the bank with liquidity. As it stands right now, they have no cash and have been suspended from any trading on the ISX. They have shut down operations and bank employees have told me that they have not been paid in over two months. There has been mention that there will be an upcoming merger with a British bank. Word of advice, don't place a lot of faith in the merger. Dr. Shabibi is unwilling to sign off on any new bank licenses at this time.

American Contrac 13 April 2011 There are a few points and observations that the American Contractor would like to make in reference to the Central Bank of Iraq and what the esteemed Dr. Shabibi is currently doing. First, Dr. Shabibi has not given any interviews on Iraqi TV discussing the topic of the Iraqi Currency in recent weeks nor months. Dr. Shabibi refrains from making any public statements to any media and only allows his Public Relations Rep to handle those topics which are sensitive in nature. When it comes to Iraq, it seems that any kind of trivial comment snowballs into an out of control rumor. Just to clarify and make it clear, the Central Bank of Iraq is not shredding the Iraqi Dinar as some would like to suggest and imply. There is absolutely no truth to this rumor. The Arab League Summit will commence on 10 and 11 May and will be held inside the International Zone, formerly the green zone. Iraq is making some progress with continuing to clean up the streets and remove t-walls that lined up the streets. The GoI has several construction projects currently going such as apartments and hotels, all inside the International Zone. The Iraqi National Investment Board has recently stated that it has plans for investment in the next five years and has a budget of 180 billion dollars to spend. The Agricultural Bank in Dhi Qar has announced that they will begin the service of issuing loans to Iraqi Farmers however, one problem exists. The Agriculture bank is requiring (like all banks in Iraq currently are) the collateral guarantee for the loan. This would be the deed to the farmers property and only when it is verified will the farmer be issued a loan. Unfortunately, there is a large percentage of Iraqi's that have defaulted on their bank loans in recent months. In other news, a Central Bank of Iraq spokesperson, Mohammed Saleh stated in an article from the Alsumaria News that the project of removing the three zero's is very close to being complete. The Central Banks plan will be reviewed by the Council of Ministries and then voted on by the Iraqi Parliament. After all this transpires, the Iraqi citizens will be educated about the new currency and it's process of distribution. It is important to note that this re-denomination will have no effect on the purchasing power of the Iraqi dinar. This is not a LOP and definitely NOT the RV that everyone has been speculating about and watching for the last eight years. Do not misconstrue this as any form of my being negative, I am simply putting forth the facts and explaining it how it has been made to all of us here as also reported in the news. Here's an interesting tidbit. What most people do not know, but for the longest time, Iraqi merchants have already removed three zeros from prices of their goods inside their stores. For example, a can of coke in Iraq will cost you approximately 500 dinar. They now remove the two zero's and the selling price is .50 usd. However, If you give an Iraqi merchant a $1.00 usd the Iraqi merchant will not give you back any change. They will keep your one dollar for the purchase of the can of coke. That's just a policy they've seemed to be doing for awhile now. In regards to the 52nd Iraqi Parliament session. Well, it was completed that part is true. However, it did not meet in secret as some are suggesting and implying. The Parliament attendance has yet to have the full 325 members. Some just will not attend solely because the government security does not allow them to carry their personal weapons inside the government building. This will be ongoing. Other Central Bank News The Central Bank is encouraging private banks to start merging or partnering with other banks in Iraq. However, there is a problem with most of the private banks. They do not want to relinquish control to the partnered bank. Most of the private Iraqi banks are family owned. There are 27 privately owned banks in Iraq and half of these banks do not have 75 billion dinars in capital. How does anyone expect these banks to fund the reconstruction of Iraq? Iraq commercial debts will be paid within the next year with the help of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank according to the Mohammed Saleh of Central Bank of Iraq. I've stated before the Development Fund for Iraq will be the same as it is today just under a different name and still held in the Federal Reserve of New York. just learned that the GOI is not issuing any entry visa's untill the US pays them $1B,so when I leave I may not be able to get back in.Also the Emirates is only issuing visa's to FN's (non US passport holders) for 96 hrs then they have to leave the country. Also the rumor that communications are being blocked is true. I can't get calls from my husband but I can call him. Don't know how this is going to effect the rv. Husband says its getting wild over there. Things aren't good. So if its gonna rv it better happen soon !!!!

Stop depending on one news source. find the truth for yourself. what i see from fox is a lot of opinion given as news and facts. most of those people aren't educated enough even be on the news. i don't like othe media either because they tend to dwell on issues for ratings that we really don't care about. then they leave the important stuff out. there really needs to be news that isn't political either way. too bad we don't have that.
