  1. Ya, what's up with that? Did they run out of time? So, the GOI is not yet formed, right?
  2. The Iraqi people NEED this money now and 15k just ain't gonna cut it. Regardless of what the GOI gives the people now, they can lower the amount loaded on the cards for the following month, or probably even e-LOP the cards. If these cards are loaded with 50k dinars, it sounds like RV day would have to be the last day of the month. Just sayin' e-LOP is a registered trademark
  3. 18 seconds in to the video, is that a US Dollar in that ladies mouth? Do they use dollars instead of dinars now? If so, that is scary, considering that they are selling dinar for usd at a profit.
  4. It's cool that they won't be deterred but I would like to see articles coming out stating that they will not let terrorism continue. I haven't seen any headlines regarding 'suspects in custody' or 'new security measures in place'. I know the US military is still posted up over there. Since they only have 9.5 months left they had better focus taking down terror squads, without deterrence.
  5. I see a HUGE difference between gang / domestic / drunken violence and terrorism. We do not tolerate terrorism in America and neither should Iraq imo. I think that the Iraqi citizens could play a huge role in stopping this type of violence. I like to think I would know if my neighbor was a terrorist. One anonymous tip can potentially take down a whole terrorist organization for good if the Security Ministries know how to react to it. I hope that they're up to their necks in intense investigations and have detained alot of suspected terrorists over the past couple of months (or years for that matter).
  6. Daaaamn. I didn't know Obama had those kinds of powers. Get him on the phone with Osama and conference in Sadr while you're at it!
  7. So your saying it needs to be approved, then read, then passed? Now I am thoroughly confused. How does it get approved before it is read and didn't they read it weeks ago? If it was just approved on Sunday then how was I reading about the first reading two weeks ago. You are right about one thing. Truely understanding the articles requires a bit of a learning curve.
  8. Saudi Arabia denies the claims. Apparantly this is not a new discovery. People have been talking about it for years and there are even books written on the subject, according to the former head of energy studies for OPEC.
  9. If supply and demand applies here, the supply just went down, alot. If Saudi Arabia is number 1 and they have 40%(!) less than they thought then that is a dent in the world supply. Price of oil has to go up.
  10. The G.E.T. conference call? I thought you meant a legit radio interview.
  11. I think the US may have gotten the better part of this deal. Here is another take on it: Canada and United States Announce Creation of Regulatory Cooperation Council Saturday, February 05, 2011 at 07:41 PM By: Cyndee Todgham Cherniak On February 4, 2011, Prime Minister Harper and President Obama announced the creation of the Regulatory Cooperation Council. For more information, please go to the following link - http://www.pm.gc.ca/eng/media.asp?id=3934 The press release states in part: "This Council commits both countries to finding ways to reduce and prevent regulatory barriers to cross-border trade, because simplifying rules and reducing red tape lead to lower costs for business and consumers, and ultimately to more jobs. The two leaders believe that the citizens of both countries deserve smarter, more effective approaches to regulation that enhance economic competitiveness, while maintaining high standards of public heath and safety, and protecting the environment." The willingness of reducing regulatory divergence is a desirable. If top-down leadership is continued and fulfilled, the results should be positive for cross-border businesses. Canadian businesses may be able to increase exports to the United States and Canadians may receive less expensive goods if unnecessary regulatory costs are reduced or eliminated. If the leaders and the Council remembers that the focus of the exercise is cooperate in improving regulatory convergence, there is hope. There is talk about the loss of Canadian sovereignty because it is expected that Canadians may hear that it is the U.S. way or the highway (that is, no deal). Canadians see the partisan behaviour in the United States Congress and Senate. Canadians see political maneuvering by various U.S. politicians as we near the 2012 U.S. elections (I call it as I see it). Again, success will only occur if there is compromise so that all benefit from regulatory convergence. LINK
