People step back and breathe. Conflict causes resentment and pent up rage but we do not need nor want hurtfull comments to cause bad feelings within this community. Propoganda stirs up conflict and that is what you are seeing on TV today. Respectfully disagree but stay within the bounds of mutuall respect or else you sink to a very low level which is not nice to witness.Whatever happens will happen with or without our involvment (hopefully) so we watch and wait , Respects to all. Wow. True colours are really now showing....

You are a disappointment to the human race.

Shame on you.

I'm a 20 year vet and BEEN THERE DONE THAT. I've been following this and owned Dinar since DAY 2! I'm entitled to my opinion not just as a right but because of EXPERIENCE. This attitude is expected in Iraq and other ME countries and they've displayed their antipathy to paying their debt in a loud voice which has been getting louder as time goes on.(remember ch7? all our fault?) or have you not been keeping up?

Remember they ARE a different culture and do NOT think as we do. They've been scratching the sand for whatever they can get for centuries, so the "me first" mentality is ingrained and not unexpected

Disappointment.? Maybe. But that's YOUR opinion, isn't it? I've served my country and done my time here AND there. I'm ENTITLED.

But as an Australian and not American, you may not understand that. (No Dis to Oz or Aussies). ;)

Remember people, every Country has a bad apple or two or ten or twenty or a thousand or even millions. my point is those same countries have good ones too! So lets stay positive for the good ones and pray for the bad.

Merry Christmas to all.

It doesn't matter that we got rid of a dictator. Dictatorship is all they have known and all they understand and relate to. We're western... of course they hate us. They always will. They hate each other bad enough to cut each other's heads off on a regular basis and blow each other up, so of course they hate the USA. After the RV happens I personally don't care what happens to Iraq. They've been murderers for thousands of years.

And the power of propaganda is immense when you're surrounded by malcontents. The uninformed and frightened people who blindly follow will always chime in mindlessly. I spoke with a woman who, in her words, escaped as a refugee shortly after the insurgent and she said and I quote. "Saddam was a good guy, he was for the people. He had nothing"

This person was believing a lie with all her heart. Let that be a word of wisdom to us all. Sometimes its not true, no matter how hard you believe it. Just my opinion. smile.gif

You have been lied to Fishman. It is a fallacy that you served your country. There has never been a recorded terrorist attack on or off American soil from Iraqis! What you did was fight in a war that enabled a handful of insanely rich men become richer still, but also one that has greatly impoverished both your country and countrymen.

Ahh the "I'm all right Jack" excuse. So YOU would only respond to, or expect your allies to respond to Your country being invaded. Re-read the history of the start of the conflict and the involvment of other countries to persuade Hussein to retract from Kuwait. "I am not me brother's keeper" exempts non involvment I suppose. But to ALL who served whenever in their lives, we ARE our brothers keeper, and respect each others service, and understand the thoughts expressed by FishmanTX. First instinct to the headline was ... turn around go back and blast the ... well you get the idea.

But in reality this is, I guess, to be expected, and most likely won't be the last time they do it. It is their mind set, which is nothing like ours. That is what makes it so frustrating trying ot figure out and account for some of the things they say, and do, and don't say, and do. It is like they have no idea what the truth is. They have no concept of gratitude. They seem to be lacking the peace gene altogether and have an overabundance of the warrior gene in its place.

Very sad ... I had stupidly thought, during all this waiting, that things would be "better" for the people who actually live there. But they won't change. If the Allied troops are not there, they will find another reason to go around blowing things up. Definitely a case of arrested development.

History? Kuwait was drilling at the borders using slanting drilling and tapping into oil fields that rightfully belonged to Iraq! And the American government does not respond to all its alies! It responds first and foremost to its great need for oil! And that is the truth. There are countries in Africa and Asia suffering under dictatorships crying out for help - where is the help for Congo where 6 million people have perished? See it is not so clear cut as one strong ally helping another, is it?

Spoken like a true chickensh!t who hides behind left wing hipocrisy and asks others to to do a job that they don't have the guts to do. It's ok to be a coward Tyron, but at least own it.

You may call me any name that pleases you Goblue. I deplore the idea of men killing each other. For what? It is not a job I will ask anyone to do for me. I would rather die myself. I have a query for you though - how it is you can be so certain of the rightness of your moral tone after the deaths of over million people, some of them innocent women and children? And the countless others injured and maimed for life?

I am unaware of your source for the figures that you quote about the number of deaths in these countries, a million in Iraq ? is this during the years of USA involvment. Now six million in the Congo, drought, fighting, tribalism, hunger. Since the days of the Belgian Congo again benefactor countries have ploughed billions $s into the area (sound familiar) but forced Catholacism ,Presbaterianism, and lord knows what els "ism" has not worked. No one invaded them so where does that leave your reasoning, would they be better off being invaded and subjected to total changes to their culture, you can dig wells for them, you can teach them how to plant and nurture crops , but you cannot stop them proving there wealth by the number of cattle that they have, even though that is the main cause of their self inflicted suffering. you stand there and reason with a hungry angry warrior with a machette in his hands. Do you think that all sectarian killing will stop after American troops leave, no more bombs, the thieves of Baghdad will reform and actually try to govern the country for it's population's good. Might I suggest two occupations for you clock maker in cloud cucoo land, or else the Fed, because numerically you show understanding of numbers as they do. Do not take offence as age does not allways = understanding nor wisdom, and I admit that might well apply to myself. Got to cook my childrens dinner so excuse me not running this through the spell checker.

Yes a million as a direct result of the USA led war. And here is the cold and unfeeling Madeline Albright saying the sanctions that killed 500,000 Iraqi children was 'worth it'.

But don't forget these sanctions were supposed to punish Saddam, who was in fact, a CIA asset/US puppet who put into power and kept in power with arms and support until he got too big for his boots and decided among other things that he no longer wanted to sell his oil using petrodollars. And no I do not think all violence will stop when America leaves. If anything it will even get worse. The region is a tinderbox. Unfortunately, the only thing now that will stop the violence will be the emergence of another dictator.

As for Congo I wasn't suggesting the USA invade it, I was suggesting it stop supporting Mobutu and his like from from doing so!

Hello, anybody home?? It is our flag, not their's. It isn't supposed to mean squat to them. It's what the flag means to the UNITED STATES and it's citizens that matters. Do you have an Iraqi flag hanging in your yard? I think not! Too much time on people's hands these days.

Go ahead and shout. You feel very strongly about this. I actually understand where you are coming from. It is very hard to accept the extent one has been lied to. Here's what I see as the problem Fishman, what if the Government is corrupt and wrong? Who are you serving in this instance, by blindly carrying out their orders?

I love the military and they are my heros. All of my family were vets. My only regret in life is tha because of health problems they would not let me serve.

I do not like the direction this administration of our American government is headed.

The Islamic/Muslim people are driven by religious teachings and the religion has been the only mainstay of the horrible life most of them have been subjected to in the ME. So if the government or insurgents or sunnis, baaths, shiites, etc do something in the name of religion it is an accepted thing by all. They have very strong factions and the one thing all of them agree on is that America is the great Satan. All Muslims ALLLL Muslims hate Americans. If you are an American who will not convert to Islam or Muslim beliefs you are an infidel or someone who is without an eternal soul. That is the heartbeat of these people. All of them. Islam! They would all rejoice with never ending joy if America had germ warfare or Nuclear bombs go off and it killed the majority of America. ALL of them. This has always been my drawback on this RV. They are not part time religious folks they take religion more serious than they do life itself. Our religious background is also like this. Read the Old Testament. Read the New Testament. The only difference is that God robed Himself in flesh and as that One robed in flesh said "My kingdom is not of this world if it were then would Me and my servants fight" as they came to take Him to trial. He then stated as all of the Soldiers and Jewish leadership lay on the ground just from the power of His spoken word "you do not take My life I give it". They still live in Old Testament times an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. Smite them hip and thigh then once in the throat and twice in the belly just before you lop off their heads. They could kill an unbeliever and calmly prepare breakfast and eat it as the unbeliever gags to death in front of their house. These men who have fought there at least my friends I have talked to tell some pretty horrible stories.

America does not understand what these soldiers we send to these countries see and go through to bring us freedom and respect in this world we live in. I hear the tales and look at the men and marvel at them. I do not know any other way to say it. If America ever sees war in America, and I hope and pray we dont, then when you hold grandpa and grandma, dad and mom, brother, sister and child and baby as they gurgle in death you will have a much better understanding of how these people view us. I am not saying it is reality I am saying Saddam was one of their own. He could kill them and they understood. But now that we have went there every death, no matter who inflicted it, is laid at our doorstep. That is the way they think and you can bet that is the spin they are already giving on all of this. Religious people who have never tasted violence in this country are very naiive and should be a little more respectful to those who have and the ones who have served should realize this is why you serve. To preserve a lifestyle of innocent and free people. I love you all.

Owe I meant what I said. Especially the ones in this example/article. As a military member who has seen there hate for the USA and helping them with "freedom", a Christian who knows an Iraqi would slit a Christians throat in a heartbeat like they are doing now (bombing churches, executing Iraqi converts) . There anti semitism and hate for the Israeli people. Yes, I do not care for the majority of Iraqis.

So don't give me your arm chair quarterback, self-righteous, I'm in a bubble life opinions.

Right on Tilak and I support your response 100% as we weren't there! Thank you for serving our country, I appreciate your sacrifices for me and my freedom more than I can say!

Well I am too old to have served in Iraq, but I have served. I am an imperfect assistant pastor of a church that does have 7 missionaries in and around Baghdad currently and also we have had one (my friend) of our missionaries killed two years ago in Iraq. I personally know several Iraqis families and none of which would not cut my throat. Armchair maybe, self righteous? I have never been called that before till now, and life in a bubble, I don't necessarily think so or at least I try not to be. I do know that Jesus would not take that stance. I hope you find peace. I'm done!

Make that two times you have been called self righteous!

I suggest you keep that talk to yourself as your going to have EVERY LIVING VET AND/OR ACTIVE TROOP DOWN ON YOUR BUTT, FAST.

Just like the BS that happeneded in Viet Nam. Haven't you learned anything from all the psychological damage that the citizens caused those vets for blaming them for the war. You should be ashamed of yourself for even uttering those words. Thank youfishman for your willingness to serve and the unbelivable courage you demonstrated in going to war for this country!
