dhardage
Yeah, there isn't anything to do in Cloudcroft other than play golf. I haven't been to Santino's. I'll check it out the next time I'm in town. My favorite restaurant in Ruidoso is Cafe Rio. They make the best pizza on the planet IMO. Let's have a post RV party in Ruidoso. We'll book an entire floor at the Inn of the Mountain Gods. Anyone game? ABSOLUTELY!! but by the time we left, most of us would be broke again! skitealwedrop
 Thx for the tip. His company sponsored a weekend retreat at Cloudcroft a few years ago, and we stayed at the Lodge it is GORGEOUS............funny thing is............we kept running back to Ruidos with everyone else!! One of my FAVORITE restaurants in the world is Santino's in Ruidoso. YUM! Ok, please allow me to "hijack" the thread for a moment. He has to go away for business on Sunday, and will take me where ever I want to go tonight, through tomorrow. My (feasible) choices are...........Amarillo, Lubbock, Ruidoso, Hobbs, Albuquerque and Cloudcroft. If I have not decided by lunchtime, He will make the decision for me, and we ALL know that no matter what his decision is, it won't be the right one!! I am up for suggestions! Go to Cloudcroft have dinner at Rebecca's then run over Ruidoso to gamble and party. ABSOLUTELY!! but by the time we left, most of us would be broke again! I'm an accountant. I'll keep everyone on a budget. lol!

After the RV occurs I'm getting out of the accounting business. I'm so over dealing with other peoples money. I'm serious about a post RV party in Ruidoso. Let's keep in touch. I've been to Vegas many times. Count me out on that trip. I'd rather hang in Ruidoso. The people are much cooler there and so is the weather. wpsmit
Lol Whats the name of the Italian Restaurant? I'll have to tell my parents to try it. I haven't heard about Funky Door, but I have heard of La Diosa. So I need to try it. I am still trying to go to Las Briasas. The one night that my friend and I went, it was like a 3 1/2hr wait just to get served. Ohh... btw I just did a google search of Funky Door. Yeah not the best reviews... If your wanting wine you might also try Divine Wine, right next to Fox and the Hound (my favorite place ) Well if i'm gonna drive 1000+ miles from Atlanta and wait for dinner at this Las Briasas joint, it had better be worth the hassle

Had no clue they even had a casino, it is closer than Ruidoso, and i've never been there!
WTX_Danny
Do you have to have an account at 1st Convenience to buy? Are their prices competitive? Thanks if anyone knows!
dhardage
Do you have to have an account at 1st Convenience to buy? Are their prices competitive? Thanks if anyone knows! Prices would probably be slightly better online (through ebay or something) but IMO, not nearly as safe. No, you don't have to have an appointment to buy, but they charge (I think) a 20.00 fee if you don't. So we just stuck 10.00 in an account. The guy never shipped the notes to her. She eventually was able to get ebay to refund her money. It took about a month and was a hassle.

dhardage
, most people go in because they have nothing else to do or they are too dumb to do anything else. WowLewi
if you have never served you dont know what i mean. believe me i have seen it. a lot of bottom of the barrel people serve in the combat arms units.. sorry to tell the truth and ruin your perfect little picture of our nations finest. First you say that our troops are to dumb to do anything else, then they are bottom of the barrel. The good news "Troll" is that you have the right and the freedom because of the good Men and Women of our Military to hide behind a keyboard and make disrespectful comments. The bad news is you clearly have some Mommie issues that you need to work out. I here France is looking for ex-patriots (I guess Patriot would not be appropriate in this case). Your definition of Dumb or bottom of the barrel most likely refers to their social status before entering the Military. The fact that someone very poor or without a solid family structure would choose to fight for our GREAT country is exactly why they are heroes. They could have blamed all their woes on this country but instead they chose to give back. GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS..... Schmucck!!!

Although schmuck is not the word i would have used, proving you are far more civilized than I. +1 to you AND those who choose to fight for a cause, rather than cause a fight!
Canuklady
didn't say i didn't appreciate thier service, just every time you hear someone say they served they are treated like f"n heroes. and this guy says "i fought for your freedom to believe or not to believe", what did you fight? the hot wheather, thats probably about it. i have every right to say what i want to. enough of the hero sh"t and "oh thank you for serving". Its a volunteer military, most people go in because they have nothing else to do or they are too dumb to do anything else. Ever notice how every time good news gets posted, someone comes along and says something mean or outrageous? It's like they are trying to rain on everyone's parade. This is a really offensive comment. If you don't understand why it's offensive, I suggest you read it again. I doubt you really think these comments are acceptable, which is why you are using the anonymity of the Internet to get your point across. if you have never served you dont know what i mean. believe me i have seen it. a lot of bottom of the barrel people serve in the combat arms units.. sorry to tell the truth and ruin your perfect little picture of our nations finest. Serving your country regardless of your level of education, IQ, or station in life is honorable. But making mean spirited, offensive, blanket statements about the men and women who serve? Does that seem bottom of the barrel? Sorry you are having a bad day, but it really doesn't excuse what you're doing here today. Not here to pick a fight with you but you're really out of line.

Kimberlye
dont talk your sh#t about you fought for my freedom man. so has a million other soldiers in this country, including me one. just because someone serves, a lot of people in this country look at them as heroes. everyone volunteers for the military and they get paid well to do their job thats all it is.. stop thanking people for their service and oh we appreciate what you do, its really old and annoying. I am extremely offended by your comment, but you have the right to say what you feel. I come from a strong military family and every single one of them served our country because they were proud Americans, period. The fact is, any man or women that joins our military for any reason and in any capacity deserves more respect than anyone I know. Another thing: No, they do not get paid well. The people who sign the papers to send them off to war are the ones that make the big fat checks!! IMO, everyone whoever serves in the military deserves a big, fat raise!! They also deserve our thanks and honor and I for one will continue to appreciate all men and women in uniform!!! Okay, rant over. Happy Friday to you all, Kim
