Maliki to set another 100 day deadline in Iraq

Thursday, June 09, 2011 10:32 GMT

Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Al Maliki said he is set to implement a new plan during the next 100 day deadline in order to improve the government’s performance and endorse the previous deadline, a source told Alsumaria.

Prime Minister Al Maliki affirmed during the regular session of Iraq’s ministerial council, that the ministries performance evaluation will be aired live.

Meetings will be held before the people. Discussions will cover all fields one by one. We will go over three headlines or three ministers. We must realize the framework upon which we will carry on with the second 100 day deadline, Maliki said.

Iraqi Prime Minister noted that 100 day deadline has set forth new policies, programs and plans for the ministries, general directorates and provinces after all parties have felt the responsibility to address people’s concerns.

The 100 day deadline has put forward both urgent solutions and long term strategic approaches, Maliki concluded.

We musn't get too despondent over this..........as Adam said in his Q & A last night they are very good at breaking deadlines and setting new ones and in doing so they take one step forward and two steps back. The important thing is that they do keep moving forward albeit it slower than anyone here would like. There is lots of positive talk in recently published articles........keep positive, keep your expectations sensible and in the meantime enjoy life as best you can.
