The New York Times tweeted "Head of I.M.F. Arrested in New York and Accused of Sexual Attack."

The New York Post reports:

The French political bigshot who heads the International Monetary Fund was arrested for allegedly sodomizing a Manhattan hotel maid today — getting hauled off an Air France flight just moments before takeoff from Kennedy Airport, police sources told The Post.

Three Port Authority detectives pulled Dominique Strauss-Kahn from the plane’s first-class cabin just two minutes before it was due to depart for Paris, the sources said.

Strauss-Kahn, 62, was turned over to NYPD officers from the Midtown South precinct, and the case is being investigated by the Special Victims Unit.

According to The New York Post, a housekeeper entered Strauss-Kahn’s New York City hotel room at noon on Saturday. Sources claim that Strauss-Kahn emerged naked from the bathroom and grabbed the housekeeper, forcing her to perform oral sex on him.

The National Journal reports that Strauss-Kahn is a candidate for president of France.

The New York Times reports that Strauss-Kahn is a former economics professor, and started in the 1980's as a deputy in parliament, and then was a finance minister:

Mr. Strauss-Kahn eventually sought the socialist party’s presidential nomination himself in 2007 — calling for an “anti-Sarkozy front” — but lost to Segolene Royal. Months later he was tapped to run the I.M.F. and received Sarkozy’s support, which many critics called a strategy by Sarkozy to keep Mr. Strauss-Kahn away from the forefront of the socialist party.

I.M.F. Head Is Arrested and Accused of Sexual Attack

The head of the International Monetary Fund, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, was taken off a plane by police at Kennedy International Airport on Saturday just minutes before it was to takeoff for Paris and was being held in connection with a sex attack on a chambermaid in his Manhattan hotel room, the authorities said.

Mr. Strauss-Kahn, 61, expected to make a bid as a Socialist presidential candidate in France, was taken into custody as he sat in his first-class seat onboard the Air France jetliner and was immediately turned over to New York City police detectives from the Mid-Town South Precinct, which covers the area in Manhattan where the hotel is located.

“He is in NYPD custody, being questioned in connection with sexual assault of a hotel chambermaid earlier this afternoon,” Deputy Commissioner Paul J. Browne, the New York Police Department’s chief spokesman, said Saturday evening.

A spokeswoman for the office of the Manhattan district attorney said that Mr. Strauss-Kahn had not yet been “formally charged” in the case, and that he was not expected to be arraigned before a judge until later in the evening.

The dramatic apprehension came at about 4:40 p.m., when two plainclothes detectives of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey suddenly boarded the A-380 model jetliner, Air France Flight 23, as it idled on the tarmac at the airport, said John P.L. Kelly, a spokesman for the agency.

“It was 10 minutes before its scheduled departure,” said Mr. Kelly. “They were just about to close the doors.”

Mr. Kelly said that Mr. Strauss-Kahn was traveling alone and was not handcuffed during the apprehension. "He complied with the detectives’ directions,” Mr. Kelly said.

The Port Authority officers were acting on information from the New York Police Department, whose detectives had been investigating a brutal attack of a woman employee at the hotel Sofitel New York, at 45 West 44th Street, in the heart of the city’s theater district.

Mr. Strauss-Kahn had been considered a leading contender to run on the Socialist Party’s ticket against President Nicolas Sarkozy. A former economics professor, Mr. Strauss-Kahn rose to political prominence first as a deputy in parliament in the 1980’s and then as a finance minister under socialist Prime Minister Lionel Jospin, a post he held until 1999. Mr. Strauss-Kahn eventually sought the socialist party’s presidential nomination himself in 2007 — calling for an “anti-Sarkozy front” — but lost to Segolene Royal. Months later he was tapped to run the I.M.F. and received Sarkozy’s support, which many critics called a strategy by Sarkozy to keep Mr. Strauss-Kahn away from the forefront of the socialist party.

But Mr. Strauss-Kahn, who is married to a prominent television news reporter, has been dogged by scandal. In 2008 he was embroiled in a controversy after accusations arose that he had had a sexual relationship with one of his subordinates, Piroska Nagy, a senior official in the I.M.F.’s Africa Department. The I.M.F. hired a law firm to launch an investigation, and Ms. Nagy left the fund and went to work for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. With the I.M.F. needed to quell the international economic meltdown, Mr. Strauss-Kahn was kept on the job. He later apologized for an “error in judgment.”

Formed at the end of World War II, the I.M.F provides low-cost loans to countries in financial crisis. After 2008, it became more relevant after brokering rescue packages for countries like Greece, Pakistan, Iceland, Hungary and Ukraine.

Wow... First and foremost, I completely agree with Scooter. If this guy did it, throw him in a cell with a tiger. Let the tiger have lunch and save the taxpayers some money!

Second, though... I haven't done a complete investigation (and probably won't, I have bigger fish to fry!)... but something just doesnt seem right here.

Now, I hate to be a "conspiracy theorist", but is anyone seeing the same thing I'm seeing? Please let me know if I have any of these facts wrong:

This guy is ready to run against Sarkozy, (for president over a decade ago)

then he's hit with a scandal. (sexual in nature)

Sarkozy then backs him to take a different office, (IMF)

which Sarkozy has an influence on. (obviously, as president!)

Now this guy is ready to once again challenge Sarkozy, (the anti-Sarkozy platform in fact!)

and he's hit with another scandal. (once again sexual, this time violent, at over 60 years of age)

I guess this will be the explanation for why there was no RV this weekend. "Strauss-Kahn was on his way back to France to oversee the RV but was then arrested so the RV is on hold until he can get the charges dropped."

This may be a more important piece of news than those blowing it off might think.

Yes, I am from Missouri. But let’s look at the big picture for a moment:

1. Many people are waking up to the fact that they have been screwed by governments all over the world for a long time.

2. There are (supposedly) other programs in place to pay the people back for that screwing.

3. Again, supposedly, these other programs are tied to the Dinar.

4. Supposedly, the RV can’t take place until arrests happen. That is on this forum.

5. What good will it do you to cash in just to have it stolen by the powers that be (PTB)?

6. Supposedly, the PTB are running scared.

7. By arresting one of PTB the others are put on notice to behave themselves. (Yah, I know)

8. Thus some of the PTB might get out with their lives. (Sacrifice one for the “greater good”)

9. The people that arrested Strauss-Kahn are directed by the very same PTB of which, Strauss-Kahn is a member.

10. There is no way on God’s green Earth the PTB are going to say, “We arrested Strauss-Kahn because he has been screwing everyone in the world for years.” Well, why didn’t you arrest him before now? What about the rest of the bunch?

11. So we will arrest him for screwing one little, insignificant (no offence meant) lady. Symbolic?

12. Now that our newfound wealth is safe®, we can get on with the RV.
