sorry i can't seem to find it got it in an email just passing along info might check the official gazette paper of Iraq should be there. This def. makes sense with the IMF pretty much cutting Iraq off now they finally got some sense and they must have a trable currency to get anymore aid so this ties into that for sure.

This is in reference to membership to the world trade orgaization. In order for Iraq to be considered for membership by the end of the year they need a tradable currency equal to the US dollar.

It is important to note that Iraq can and is receiving imports and exports while we speak. to find the article you will need to google iraq+tradable+currency+2011. I am not allowed to post the link in DV.

This is not a guarantee of an RV. this is just conditions that need to be met to be a member of the world trade organization!!

Commentary: I believe this is positive news! First Iraq must have a recognized tradeable currency to become a member of the WTO, Furthermore, In my opinion “reducing the difference between the USD and IQD indicates they are wanting to bring the IQD closer in value to the USD…$1, $2, $3…etc. Oh and the article also mentions it would become a member in the “near” future!

Wasn't this brought up earlier today? I went and looked at the link, couldn't find things. The implication is that as of January 1st they wont take any goods unless they currency is tradable? Where right now they will exchange goods without a tradable currency. Does that make ANY sense? They could and most likely are implementing tariffs now. Them having a tradable currency doesn't impact that.

Everyone seems to think that they only have one option (an option that would actually not be the smartest decision for their economy)… when they have put out in verifiable statements that they are going to do otherwise. Actually when you take 1+1 and it = 2 it makes more sense. (May be... if you take what they say.. .it might = what they do) You think?

The newest dinar (not released yet) will have a good value and will be internationally traded… BUT… … The other side of the coin is... ....
