Shafaq News / Israeli army spokesman, Daniel Hagari, revealed on Monday that what was targeted in Damascus was a military building belonging to the Quds Force and not a consulate or embassy.

 

 Speaking to CNN, Hagari accused Iran of working during the past six months to escalate the region.

 

On Tuesday, Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, vowed to "punish" Israel for its targeting of the Iranian embassy in Damascus, which led to the killing of prominent military leaders in the Revolutionary Guard.

 

Khamenei said in a statement, seen by Shafaq News Agency, that "the Zionists will regret their crime after the attack on the consular section of the Iranian embassy in Damascus, and they will be punished by our men."

 

Yesterday, Monday, Israel directed strong strikes at the Iranian mission in Damascus, killing diplomats and commanders in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

 

Informed Syrian sources reported to Shafaq News Agency that an Iranian Revolutionary Guard official, Mohammad Reza Zahedi, and 5 other people were killed.

 

She said, "The raid that took place in Damascus targeted a building adjacent to the Iranian embassy building, which belongs to it, and it is believed to be the residence of the Iranian ambassador himself." 

 

Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi confirmed today, Tuesday, that the strikes that targeted the Iranian embassy in Damascus and led to the killing of 7 Revolutionary Guard members yesterday, Monday, “will not pass without a response.”

American & British sources indicate that the facility was NOT an embassy or consulate, but was a Quds force building. It was NOT the residence of the ambassador. Those killed were all military individuals of the Quds Force or Revolutionary Guard. Iran is playing it up in the news to make it look like Israel overstepped bounds by striking a "consulate" or "embassy".
