Al-Sudani: The year 2024 will be the year of project completion in Iraq

Shafaq News / Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani renewed, on Sunday, his government’s pledge to end the lagging projects file and proceed with completing others during the year 2024.

 

This came while he chaired a meeting of the Service and Engineering Effort Team, during which the report on the progress of implementation and work completed at the sites and projects undertaken by the team in Baghdad and the governorates during the years 2022 and 2023 was discussed, according to a statement issued by Al-Sudani’s office.

 

The statement stated that, during the meeting, Al-Sudani listened to a comprehensive presentation of the reality of work on the projects and the rates of progress, and was informed of the obstacles that hinder the work, in addition to following up on the necessary procedures to continue the smooth flow of implementation, and the tables of quantities related to the projects until the end of the current year.

 

He pointed out that the team, with its exceptional work style, was able to reduce project costs and compress the time needed to complete them, directed at overcoming obstacles in all aspects of the work and maintaining momentum in all working team formations.

 

The Prime Minister was also briefed on the assessment of the reality of work, by the advisory body represented by the Iraqi Engineers Syndicate, as he stressed the importance of adopting technical examinations for projects upon completion, and not approving any project that is not subject to full engineering examinations and standards, stressing that reducing costs must not be limited to Calculating quality and efficiency standards.

 

The statement quoted Al-Sudani as saying: The government has raised the slogan of not keeping any projects delayed, and that the year 2024 will be the year of project completion.

That 8% is for " administrative costs " 🤣

I'd have gone for 8% for the Big Guy, but anything under 10% is chump change and not worthy of consideration
