International report: Iraq's 2023 budget ushers in a new era of development that the country has not witnessed in 50 years

Construction Week reported that Iraq's 2023 budget contains provisions for the biggest projects in five decades, as the country aims to benefit from increased oil export revenues.

Fadi al-Shammari, political advisor to the prime minister, stated that these projects, worth billions of dollars, focus primarily on the "road of development." This initiative entails the construction of a 1,200-kilometre railway and the largest highway in the country.

He said that both the railway and the highway will connect the southern region of Iraq through the port of Fu, Turkey in the north, and the work is expected to be launched in 2023.

The official news agency quoted al-Shammari on Friday as saying that other "strategic projects" are also included in the budget, which will soon be approved by parliament.

Al-Shammari said, "The 2023 budget includes allocations for major projects that Iraq has not seen over the past fifty years... One of the largest projects is the development path, which we consider a turning point for Iraq in terms of trade and investment."

Not being a Killjoy here but Iraq isn't witnessing a gosh dam thing yet owing to very professional foot dragging.

Typical with these nit wits that they believe saying a thing IS, doesn't  necessarily means it so.

Remember Abadi when he was PM saying Iraq is open for business and here we are STILL WAITING: but definitely getting " the business "

LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL !!!

Go on say it...HS sure is a cranky ole fart these days 🤣
