Al-Party: Do not reach agreement on the date of holding a parliamentary session

Baghdad - people

The head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party bloc, Vian Sabri, said on Saturday that the date of holding a session in the parliament is still unknown.

In a statement to her party's website, followed by "Nass", Sabri said on September 10, 2022, that "the date of the meeting of the Iraqi parliament is still unknown, and no agreement has been reached on it."

And she indicated, "Any decision taken in Iraq must be made with the consent of all parties and then implemented."

Earlier, a member of the House of Representatives of the State of Law coalition, Alia Nassif, revealed the steps of the coordination framework after the Arbaeen visit, following the decision to reject the case for dissolving Parliament.

Nassif said in an interview with her colleague Ahmed Mulla Talal, followed by "Nass" (September 7, 2022), "We have constitutional entitlements, and the court noted that any authority, whether legislative or executive, when it exceeds the constitutional periods loses its legitimacy," indicating that "the next scenario will be represented by a contract A parliamentary session to elect a president and assign a prime minister after the Arbaeen visit.

She added that "the convening of the House of Representatives is inevitable and needs the wishes of the framework and the current, amending the electoral law and changing the Electoral Commission," noting that "the UN envoy called on the Iraqi political forces to hold a session and form a government."

And she continued, "The House of Representatives will hold its next session on September 20, 2022, after the Arbaeen visit, and everyone will attend."

The Secretary-General of the Awareness Movement, Salah Al-Arbawi, ruled out, on Wednesday, holding a parliamentary session after the Arbaeen visit.

Al-Arbawi said in an interview with colleague Ahmed Mulla Talal, followed by "Nas" (September 7, 2022), that "the coordinating framework will not be able to hold a session in the House of Representatives after the Arbaeen visit," noting that "the people will prevent the session from being held."

He added, wondering, "Does the framework want to form a government under these circumstances? .. Will that government that will be formed under unknown protection deserve to represent the Iraqi people?"

Al-Arbawi explained, "There are 3 things that lead to a way out of the crisis, and all of them are on the dialogue table, which is the dissolution of the House of Representatives, the formation of an independent government outside the framework and the current, and the third and final is the amendment of the electoral law."

The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan parliamentary bloc expected, on Sunday, to hold a parliamentary session after the Arbaeen visit.

Member of the bloc, Karwan Ali Yaroes, said in a statement to the official newspaper, followed by "Nass" (September 11, 2022), that "the next steps of the political process are related to the movements of the Sadrist movement, and there are attempts to hold the parliament session and complete the formation of the government in accordance with the constitutional frameworks."

We've reached a never seen before level of just how long these politicians can  drag it all thru weeds.

It would appear they're not satisfied with racking up a Guinness World record for 10+ months and still no seated government: must be some other records to be broken in this marathon of nonsense we're yet to discover.

Have no fear, all will be revealed " in the near future " ...

The 1 year anniversary of the October elections quickly approaches. :facepalm2:

To right. I know ours isn't perfect, however it's more in keeping with seating a government on time.

Whomever thought it was a good idea to set up a Parliamentary type system for a people so he'll bent on arguing, multiple tribal & ethnic backgrounds & collectively disagreeable natures... Well, they set Iraq up for failure which begs the question, was this by design ?

Our system, everyone shows up on time, THEN they commence to bickering & squabbling. :tiphat:

Then there's the astonishing thousands of years culture of corruption. They're not alone in that department but DANG, they've cultivated that into an art form.

The evidence of how ruinous & catastrophic this social & political mindset is to Iraq is sadly all to obvious.

My guess is that the US had a lot to do with it. I know that Bush was responsible for installing Maliki.

This comes after the Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Muhammad al-Halbousi, the heads of the Sovereignty Alliance, Khamis al-Khanjar, and the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Massoud Barzani, stressed the importance of holding early elections.
The media office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives said in a statement carried by the Iraqi News Agency, "conscious", that "during the meeting, the political situation in Iraq and its negative repercussions on the country was reviewed, and the need to adopt the language of constructive dialogue to overcome differences and reach solutions that are in the interest of the Iraqi people." and adopting constitutional and legal methods to overcome the repercussions of the current stage.
He added that "the parties stressed the importance of holding early elections after preparing the legal requirements and their requirements in accordance with the constitutional mechanisms, preceded by the formation of a government that enjoys full authority and enjoys the confidence and reassurance of all with an agreed government program, with an emphasis on the need for the House of Representatives to continue its work until the election date."
Last month, Iraq witnessed bloody clashes that killed more than 30 people, and a large number of injured, after supporters of the "Sadr movement" stormed a number of government headquarters in Baghdad, immediately after the movement's leader, Muqtada al-Sadr announced his retirement from political work.
Supporters of the Sadrist movement withdrew from the street, in compliance with the directives of the leader of the movement, who criticized what he described as the "revolution" and the violence that permeated the protests.
Shiite leader Muqtada al-Sadr's decision to retire from politics comes after months of struggle against the coordination framework "which includes Shiite parties and forces", in order to form a majority government, after the Sadrist movement won the majority in Parliament.

Shafaq News / The prominent leader in the Shiite coordination framework, head of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, said on Sunday that there is no need yet to talk about dissolving Parliament.

Al-Maliki wrote, in a tweet to him on Twitter, that "the judiciary ruled that parliament cannot be dissolved, and this means that there are no early elections until after the parliament resumes to hold its sessions and form a new government with full powers."

He added that "the political forces expressed their supportive stance for the judiciary's decision, and announced their rejection of the dissolution of Parliament and the proposed early elections, and this means that there is no need yet to talk about this constitutionally and politically settled issue."

Al-Maliki called for "devote speech, efforts and proposals on how to activate parliament, and how to expedite the formation of a coalition government to achieve the best services and political and security stability."

This comes in the wake of the Federal Supreme Court’s announcement, rejecting the case for dissolving the Iraqi Council of Representatives, because the matter is not within its jurisdiction, but rather within the jurisdiction of the Council of Representatives itself or the presidents of the republic and government.

The Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Sovereignty Alliance, the two poles of "Save the Homeland", which included the Sadrist bloc, stressed earlier today the importance of "holding early elections after preparing the legal requirements and their requirements in accordance with the constitutional mechanisms, preceded by the formation of a government that enjoys full authority and enjoys the confidence and reassurance of all." An agreed government program, emphasizing the need for the House of Representatives to continue its work until the election date.

The so-called "Minister Leader" Saleh Muhammad al-Iraqi, who is close to the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, had said earlier today, in a post on social media, "We are aware of the many pressures on our allies, but sacrifice in order to end the suffering of an entire people is also a matter." Mahmoud and required, as the people, not the current, are the ones who refuse to rotate faces and re-manufacture a corrupt government again,” noting that “the ball is in the allies’ court, not in the court of the Sadrist bloc.”

Shafaq News/ The leader in the coordination framework, the head of the victory coalition, Haider al-Abadi, responded on Sunday evening to the call of the head of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, to "leave the issue of dissolving parliament."

Al-Maliki had called, earlier today, to leave the issue of dissolving parliament, and to devote efforts on how to activate it, and how to speed up the formation of a (coalition) government.

Al-Abadi wrote in a tweet posted on his personal account on Twitter, "Any path based on breaking the will will be a disaster for the people and the state."

The head of the victory coalition called for "a political agreement that leads to considering the current phase as transitional, beginning with the formation of a government and ending with the dissolution of parliament and early elections."

Al-Abadi concluded by saying, "The interests of the people and the stability of the state are higher and more valuable than any partisan or factional interest."

This comes in the wake of the Federal Supreme Court’s announcement, rejecting the case for dissolving the Iraqi Council of Representatives, because the matter is not within its jurisdiction, but rather within the jurisdiction of the Council of Representatives itself or the presidents of the republic and government.

His office: Al-Maliki presented a road map to end the country's stagnation constitutionally, legally and politically

Baghdad - people

On Monday, the office of the head of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, provided a clarification about al-Maliki's latest tweet.

The director of the office, Hisham Al-Rikabi, said in a blog post that "Nass" followed (September 12, 2022), "Al-Maliki raised in his last position on Twitter three points, the most important of which are:

First: The judiciary has resolved the situation from a legal point of view, and pointed out that there is no legal text that allows the dissolution of the House of Representatives through the Federal Court.

Second: All political forces stressed the need to follow the constitutional contexts to dissolve Parliament, as the position of the majority of forces was with the formation of a new government with full powers to be able to carry out its duties by holding early elections.

Third: The last position represents a roadmap to end the state of stagnation in the country constitutionally, legally and politically, away from the whims and moods that seek to continue the blockage and keep the country in chaos and war.

The head of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, said on Sunday that there is no need to talk about dissolving parliament, anymore.

Al-Maliki added in a blog post, which was followed by "Nass" (September 11, 2022), that "the judiciary's ruling that Parliament may not be dissolved, and this means that there are no early elections until after the parliament resumes its sessions and the formation of a new government with full powers."

He continued, "The political forces also expressed their support for the judiciary's decision, and announced their refusal to dissolve parliament and the proposed early elections."

He pointed out, "This means that there is no need yet to talk about this constitutionally, judicially and politically settled issue, and it must be left and devotion of speech, efforts and proposals on how to activate Parliament and how to speed up the formation of a coalition government to achieve the best services and political and security stability."

Shafaq News/ The leader of the Sadrist movement, Sabah al-Saadi, on Monday, disdained the tweet published by the leader of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, about proceeding with the formation of the next federal government.

Al-Saadi, in a tweet on the social networking sites "Twitter", praised the tweets launched by the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, saying that "there are some tweets that fall and change governments that make the strongest surprises."

He added that "words that shake the thrones of tyrants are awaited by countries and organizations that are subject to a microscope of studies."

Al-Saadi also alluded to al-Maliki's tweet, and said that "there are some tweets as if they were part of the leaks written by the mentality of conspiracies," adding, "It is forbidden to say words to her, as they are like extra letters."

Al-Maliki said in a tweet he published, yesterday evening, Sunday, that there is no need yet to talk about the dissolution of Parliament.
