“I will take my right” presents a 6-point road map that precedes heading for early elections

Baghdad - people

On Tuesday, Nazel took my right movement identified a set of measures that must precede the early elections.

The movement said in a statement, of which “Nass” received a copy (October 11, 2022), that “a year after the 2021 elections, amid the atmosphere of political blockage and the inability of traditional forces to find realistic solutions to address the country’s crises amid a state of popular ferment and rejection of the outputs of the traditional political class. After 2003, and the quotas and corruption that it devoted to the stage of blocking roads and strict security measures to protect Parliament, it is obvious that it is a reflection of the citizen’s choices in the ballot box amid this accumulated failure. The only solution to this painful scene is to dissolve Parliament and call for early elections within A year to be preceded by a number of real measures for change", which are as follows:

- An independent government made up of national personalities far from all suspicions of corruption and failure, and it is obliged to carry out specific tasks.

Adoption of a just and expressive election law that expresses the voice of the Iraqi citizen, while reconsidering the formation of the Independent High Electoral Commission to be impartial and fully responsible for holding fair and transparent elections under UN supervision.

- Application of Parties Law No. 36 of 2015

- Opening corruption files and holding the killers of protesters and absent activists, opinion leaders and citizens accountable through the judiciary.

- Addressing constitutional problems with regard to the interpretation of the largest bloc and the quorum of the session for selecting the President of the Republic and assigning the Prime Minister.

The United Nations and its mission must assume its responsibility towards the active national and societal forces that aspire to change, expressing the voice of the silent majority, and involving them in setting a peaceful path for change.

She pointed out that "the continuation of the current scene without realistic solutions and insistence on the narrow interests of this political class will lead us to large and multiple peaceful options."

Al-Mayadeen: The Iraqi forces agree on Abdul Latif, a compromise candidate for the presidency

Baghdad - people

The Lebanese channel Al-Mayadeen quoted Iraqi sources as saying that an agreement was reached between the political blocs to nominate Abdul Latif Rashid for the presidency.

The channel said in a report followed by "Nass" (12 November 2022): "The agreement of the Iraqi forces came after a parliamentary session, during which the date of the presidential election session was set, earlier today."

Al-Mayadeen sources stated that "the agreement on Rashid comes after negotiations between the State Administration Alliance, the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union."

She added, "The coordinating framework is continuing to nominate Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani to form the Iraqi government."

The latest developments

On Tuesday, the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan appealed to the parliament that its decision be the final decision in electing the president of the republic, unless an agreement is reached with his democratic counterpart.

The editorial of the "Kurdistan Nawa" newspaper, which is affiliated with the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and followed by "Nass" (January 11, 2022), stated that "if there is no Kurdish agreement to resolve the issue of the president of the republic, then let the Iraqi democracy say it."

And she explained in the editorial text, "If a Kurdish agreement does not happen to resolve this issue, then the agreement can play its role in two or three other issues for the Kurdistan region."

He added, "The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the Kurdistan Democratic Party must discuss the issue of the upcoming Kurdish elections, and solve the people's problems and daily living."

He pointed out that "the agreement and harmony in Kurdistan can solve many problems. And if he is not able to do his duty in one place? Why can't he do it in another place? The truth can be like this."

And he indicated that "if the agreement on the president's issue reached a dead end, let us let democracy speak in the Iraqi parliament hall, and allow the 2018 scenario to be repeated," while I asked, "What is wrong with the 2018 scenario? Through democracy and the halal voice of the Iraqi representatives, the position of the next president of the Iraqi Republic will be decided." ".

The head of the Democratic bloc in the Iraqi Federal Parliament, Vian Sabri, confirmed, on Monday, that the leader of her party, Massoud Barzani, has no personal position against the current President of the Republic, Barham Salih, indicating that the Patriotic Union has more than one candidate for the presidency.

Sabri said during her hosting on the "With Mullah Talal" program, followed by "Nas" (10 October 2022), that "the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan has more than one candidate for the presidency of the republic," noting that "the Democrat's insistence on the presidency is not a maneuver." Rather, it is because the party represents the most numerous Kurdish bloc.

She stressed that "the Democrat has not relinquished until this moment the position of the presidency of the republic," noting that "Massoud Barzani does not have any personal position against the current president, Barham Salih."

She pointed out that "there is no settlement candidate so far within the Kurdish House."

On Monday, the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan suggested that the Kurdistan Democratic Party would boycott the presidential election session, in the event that no candidate was agreed upon between the two Kurdish parties.

In an interview with colleague Ahmed Mulla Talal, followed by "Nass" (October 10, 2022), a member of the Iraqi parliament on behalf of the Union, Aso Faridoun, said that "the political process in Iraq is not calculated in numbers, whether in previous or current sessions, but rather it is It is determined by the decisions of the Federal Court, the Iraqi constitution, and the interpretations of these articles by the Federal Court, and for this reason, there must be understanding and consensus between the political forces, as well as the case with the Kurdish parties.

Fereydoun added, "The absence of agreement between the two Kurdish parties on a candidate for the presidency is not in the interest of the region and its citizens, and we will enter the next parliamentary session to elect the president of the republic, and if there is no agreement on a candidate, I think that the Democratic Party will not participate in the session and will boycott it, and then it will The will of the deputies during the session is the decision.”

He continued, "If the Democratic Party does not reach an agreement on a single candidate in the coming days, the will of the members of the House of Representatives will determine the candidate for the next president of the republic independently of the two Kurdish parties."

Regarding the scenario of the entry of the two Kurdish parties with two candidates, the Framework, the Sovereignty, and the Party, who will vote for Reber Ahmed for the presidency, he stated that “it is a difficult scenario to happen, and it will not happen in this way, and the matter will be left to settlement and political directives within the House of Representatives.”

Member of the National Party: The Democrat continues his political stubbornness and adheres to Saleh's candidacy

{Political: Al Furat News} A member of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan accused the Kurdistan Democratic Party of "political stubbornness" in the file of the Presidency of the Republic.

"We did not reach a positive result or a consensual candidate, despite the negotiations," Goran Fathi told the "Unannounced" program broadcast by Al-Furat satellite channel this evening.

He added, "The Kurdistan Democratic Party from the beginning opposed the candidacy of President Barham Salih, and we were hoping for a consensual candidate from the Union and the Democratic Party, but we did not reach a result and agreement."

He pointed out that "Rasheed Latif is a leader in the union, but Saleh is the only candidate for the National Union," noting that "the union is with consensus and dialogue within the Kurdish house."

Goran stressed, "There is no more time for dialogue before the parliament session, and the Democrat had great political stubbornness within the Kurdish House, even in the political process," noting that "the union did not embarrass the partners by sticking to Saleh's candidacy."

He noted that "the Union deserves more than the position of the presidency, but the Democrat wants to seize positions even in Baghdad," according to what he said.
