The Commission's investigation department said, in a statement today, (November 11, 2021), that "the Karkh Criminal Court - the third panel, issued a seven-year prison sentence in absentia against the former director general of the Iraqi Trade Bank, based on the provisions of Article (340) of the Penal Code. ". The statement added, "The ruling came against the background of the charges brought in the case of granting credits in large amounts to one of the bank's customers without providing sufficient guarantees, which caused damage to public money in the amount of (68,240,134,03) dollars." The authority had previously announced the issuance of judgments in absentia against the convict, including two judgments it disclosed last April, serving seven years in prison each, in my two cases: exempting a private company from all interests resulting from its documentary approval, and granting banking facilities to a private company in contravention of the contexts and instructions of the bank, according to the statement. 2 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
