No "flat" Earth "dome" HERE!!!

This historical footage of a Saturn V Rocket Launch shows a multi stage signature against the sky that DOES NOT bounce off a "flat" Earth "dome".

Notice the Saturn V multi stage signature and compared to the "flat" Earth "chanting" video.

At about 40 miles above the Spherical (geoidal) Earth surface, the Saturn V contrail exhibits characteristics uniquiely different than at the initial launch and lower altitudes due to a much lower atmospheric pressure at the higher altitude.

Ample Saturn V Rocket Engine power and control keep the Saturn V on the preprogrammed trajectory that appears like an arc. NOT "bouncing" "off" a "flat" Earth "dome".

Depending on the Saturn V Rocket Engine firing and alttitude, the contrail appearance will vary.

The "spinning" "rocket" in the "flat" Earth "dome" video suggests an out of control rocket since known stable rockets under launch propulsion do not spin and only rotate at pre programmed intervals for a specific amount of turn.

At the end of a rocket launch below low Spherical (geoidal) Earth orbit, the rocket will display out of control behavior due to the lack of propulsion.

Ultimate falling back to the Spherical (geoidal) Earth due to, of course, gravity.

Something THIS "flat" Earth "participant" "experienced".

EPIC "flat" Earth FAIL. Just like ALL the other "flat" Earth "initiatives."

The "flat" Earth "dome" is NOT supported by Psalm 148:4:

New English Translation

4 Praise him, O highest heaven,
and you waters above the sky.[a]

The lowest achieved Spherical (geoidal) Earth orbit is nominally 167.4 Km or about 104.01 miles.

The lowest altitude by an Earth observation satellite in orbit is 167.4 km (104 mi) and was achieved by JAXA's TSUBAME (Japan) during its mission from 23 December 2017 to 1 October 2019.

Notice how the meteors entering and burning up in the Spherical (geoidal) Earth atmosphere DO NOT ALL APPEAR FROM THE SAME DIRECTION!!!

IF, THEE Earth IS "flat", THEN ALL THE METEORS WOULD HAVE TO ENTER THE FIELD OF VIEW TRAVELING IN THE SAME DIRECTION!!!

THEE "falling" "stars" IN THEE "flat" Earth "model" WOULD HAVE TO FALL TO EARTH!!!

ALSO, THEE "flat" Earth "dome" WOULD PROTECT THEE Earth FROM EXTRATERRESTRIAL "objects".

Like meteors.

How about THIS meteor???!!!

And THIS meteor???!!!

AND one of the ones in Russia:

WHERE, pray tell, IS THEE "flat" Earth "dome" KEEPING THE METEORS OUT???!!!

"flat" Earth.

NO "firmament" noted HERE!!!

KJV Dictionary Definition: firmament

firmament

FIRMAMENT, n. ferm'ament. L. firmamentum, from firmus, firmo.

The region of the air; the sky or heavens. In scripture, the word denotes an expanse, a wide extent; for such is the signification of the Hebrew word, coinciding with regio, region, and reach. The original therefore does not convey the sense of solidity, but of stretching, extension; the great arch or expanse over our heads, in which are placed the atmosphere and the clouds, and in which the stars appear to be placed, and are really seen.

And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. Gen. 1:6.

And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament.

Ibum. 1:14.

firmamental

FIRMAMENT'AL, a. Pertaining to the firmament; celestial; being of the upper regions.

Psalm 19:1

Authorized (King James) Version

Psalm 19

To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.

1 The heavens declare the glory of God;
and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

The ones LYING HERE ARE "flat" Earth "advocates"!!!

A Spherical (geoidal) Earth has NOTHING TO DO WITH:

  • Evolution.
  • The Big Bang.
  • Atheism.
  • Alien Seeding.
  • Paganism.
  • The Occult.
  • The New World Order.
  • Satanic World Control.

However, "flat" Earth has EVERYTHING TO DO WITH BEING A CULT!!!

A Church or a Cult?

For a while, I wondered if the Christian version of the flat-earth movement might coalesce into a new denomination or perhaps an association of churches, unified by a common belief that the earth is flat. There now are local churches that include the earth being flat among their core beliefs. And the leaders of those assemblies are zealous about planting similar local churches in other cities. Some flat-earthers feel alienated from their local churches, that in many cases they have attended for years, solely because the leadership of those churches doesn’t agree with them on cosmology, and hence they seek out flat-earth churches that they can attend. However, as strong as the bond of flat-earth belief may be, there are many other differences that divide these local churches. KJV-only, flat-earth people will not tolerate other flat-earthers who stray from the King James Version. The KJV-only, flat-earth pastors are not loath to condemn as false teachers otherflat-earth pastors who from time to time use other translations of the Bible. Eschatology is another issue that divides flat-earth pastors. Additionally, many flat-earth pastors are very domineering and dictatorial. This rubs many people the wrong way, particularly when other, much smaller, differences arise. These factors probably will prevent a large unified flat-earth church movement from coming about.

This raises the question of whether the Christian version of the flat-earth movement is a cult. The flat-earth movement has some elements of a cult. Flat-earthers insist that their understanding of the Bible is the only true meaning of Scripture, dismissing all others as the mere teachings of men at best, and at worst, the work of the devil. This is the major defining characteristic of a cult. On the other hand, a cult often denies one or more cardinal doctrines of Christianity, such as the deity of Jesus Christ. While some individual flat-earthers who identify as Christian may stray a bit from orthodoxy, there is no consistent pattern of denying central tenets of Christianity among flat-earthers. Furthermore, a cult usually is led by a central figure. As of yet, there is not a single person who seems to be leading the Christian version of the flat-earth movement. There are various individuals within this subset of the flat-earth movement that have their followings, but it is far from centralized. However, there is a common conduit through whichflat-earth arguments flow and converts are made: the internet, particularly social media and YouTube. Therefore, it is this new medium that amounts to the leader of the movement. Perhaps we need to revisit the definition of a cult to include “faceless” social media leadership.

More and more people these days seem to be buying into the notion that the earth is not shaped like a three-dimensional sphere. Rather, they have been claiming that the earth is two-dimensional and flat. Even Christians, surprisingly in droves in recent years, have been buying into what’s called the Flat Earth Theory. Should those who believe in the literal interpretation of the Genesis Creation account be joining what is swiftly growing into the cult of the Flat-Earthers?

To answer this question, I turned to my friend and fellow evangelist, Eric Hovind. Eric is the president of Creation Today (creationtoday.org), an apologetics ministry that focuses on teaching Genesis using Creation Science. He assures me that the earth is definitely not flat.

The Cult of Flat-Earthers

Internet-Fueled Flat-Earthers

Nathan Jones: Eric, I’m trying to figure out why people have become so adamant lately in claiming that the earth is flat. Where did this idea come from?

Eric Hovind: Flat-Earthism is a growing movement that, I’m convinced, the Internet has given rise to, perpetuating yet another outdated idea that has long been totally disproven. Because of the Internet, there’s been a resurgence of interest in this false idea which has already been well debunked many times throughout history.

I’m convinced the modern Flat Earth Movement was created as a joke which has gotten completely out of hand. A Flat Earth Society was even formed in Canada to make fun of people who believe in the Bible. They claim that to believe in the Bible is to believe that the earth is flat when, of course, that’s not true at all. They were attempting to elicit a mental comparison, and quite successfully, for they have turned many people’s minds away from the Bible.

One of the side effects of this scam has been that a lot of people — I’ve heard as much as 6% of the population of the United States or some 20 million people — now believe in the Flat Earth Theory. Some Christians even claim that the Bible supports their notion that the earth is flat.

Four Corners Flat-Earthers

Four Corners Flat-Earthers

Nathan Jones: I traveled to the island of Saint Martin to preach at a church there and met a young man who clearly got all of his information from YouTube. He’d become absolutely convinced that the earth is flat. In response, I asked him if he’d ever left his little island, and though he responded that he had indeed never left it, he was still positive the earth must be flat. I explained to him how while traveling around the world from high up in the air, I could see the curvature of the earth. I pointed out that even from the island’s beaches, he could gaze upon the horizon which curves along the ocean so that the ocean had the appearance of roundness. But, he merely countered that the curvature would only inevitably wrap around into a circle and not a true sphere in the shape of a ball.

The youth then pointed to Revelation 7:1 and 20:8 which notes the “four corners of the earth.” He told me to look to those verses for proof that the earth is flat.

Eric Hovind: He’s got a problem there. Is he arguing for a flat square or a round disk? Most Flat-Earthers do not believe there are actually four corners to the earth. Much conflict exists within the Flat Earth Movement.

When you begin to study it, you’ll find there are multiple internal conflicts about who is in charge, who is the smartest, who has the best ideas, and just who is the authority on the subject.

As you look at those passages in Revelation that refer to four corners, we have to understand how they are interpreting Scripture. Most Flat-Earthers I would call hyper-literalists, taking whatever a passage says hyper-literally. The problem ends up being that they find themselves facing a whole lot of issues.

For example, in explaining those two references in Revelation, they claim these verses are portraying the earth as a square like a table with everything above revolving around the top of the table. If you’re not familiar with the Flat Earth Movement, though most people have probably encountered it by this point, you’ll also have heard them claim there’s possibly a dome extending over the tabletop and that the dome is structurally solid. Some Flat-Earthers would claim the stars are, in truth, angels locked inside of this solid dome that is spinning around a stationary planet.

Multiple scientific theories naturally come into play concerning what Flat-Earthers believe. Central to their view is the rejection of the Heliocentric Model which holds that the Sun sits at the center of our solar system and that the planets are orbiting around it. Rather, they believe the earth remains stationary. To support their view, they’ll use passages where the Bible talks about how the earth will not move, is fixed, or rests upon a foundation. I don’t believe stationary is what the Bible is intending to portray when it uses these descriptions of the earth relative to the cosmos.

Hyper-literalists state the Bible says the earth has four corners, and so, therefore, it must have four corners. Rather, when interpreting the Bible, what they really should be asking is: “What is the Bible trying to communicate in these passages?”

Solar System

At times differences can occur between what the Bible is saying versus what the Bible is actually trying to convey. For example, Isaiah 55:12 says, “all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.” Do we really believe that trees in the field are clapping actual hands? Well, no! To do so would be to take a hyper-literalist approach. We should instead interpret Scripture based on what the verses mean literally but applying the genre which they employ; not always on what they actually say, especially when we translate the text from the original Hebrew and Greek.

Round Disk Flat-Earthers

Eric Hovind: Other Flat-Earthers will use Isaiah 40:22 which reads, “It is He who sits above the circle of the earth….” and claim there’s the proof that the earth exists as a two-dimensional flat circle rather than as a three-dimensional sphere. They claim the globe should look like a circular disk and not as a sphere or square like a tabletop.

Round Disc Flat-Earthers

Multiple problems also arise with this claim as they do with the four corner Flat-Earthers. Just one, Isaiah uses different words for sphere and uses them somewhat interchangeably. And, specifically claiming that the earth must be a flat disk, rather than having four corners, would grind against those previously addressed passages in Revelation noting the earth as having four corners.

On top of translation issues, they are neither interpreting the Bible correctly nor are they viewing the science correctly. Scientific problems with this Flat Earth model abound.

So, which is it? Does the earth have four corners, or is it a round disk, or can it be both?

Some maps have been drawn up in an attempt to unify both interpretations. Obviously, those couldn’t possibly work because, in order to produce such a map, the mapmaker would need to be able to view everywhere in the world all at once. Astronauts have actually done that from up in high Earth orbit, and what they have seen is a sphere.

Let’s go back and address the theorized dome, for Flat-Earthers also claim the earth possesses a crystalline dome stretching over a flat square or disk. This dome supposedly holds in the air pressure. And, they don’t believe in gravity, denying that gravity is even a real force of nature.

Scientifically, though, here is what would happen. Say you are standing in one stationary spot on that flat disk and the stars are rotating around you. Instead of the stars making a perfect circle above you, that is, unless you are standing directly at the center point on that disk, the stars would end up drawing an oval shape around you. So, when you look up and see the stars revolving around you, their paths would appear oval in shape the farther they moved away from you, and came back, and moved farther away from you, and came back, and so on. In truth, we don’t see an ovoid pattern from any point on Earth. What we do see in time-lapsed photos are the perfectly circular paths of the stars moving across the sky, and never in an oval shape.

Earth Sunrise from Space

Avoiding Falling Down the Rabbit Hole

Eric Hovind: Scientifically speaking, the Flat Earth Theory is riddled with problems. And, biblically, even more problems abound. The supporting verses their adherents point to do not support the view that the earth is flat because they have taken them out of context, with biblical interpretation being one of the biggest problems I see with this cockamamie theory.

If only we would just read the Bible and take it for what it means. When it means something literal, then we take it literally. Like, for example, in Genesis 1-2, the six-day Creation account should be taken literally. But, when the biblical author makes references in passages that are clearly meant to be taken poetically or symbolically, then we interpret them by their proper genre and context. We have to continually be asking ourselves what the passages are saying, what are they communicating, and what are the phrases being used by God in His attempt to communicate with mankind.

Nathan Jones: It does indeed appear that the Flat Earth Theory contains many glaring holes, both biblically and scientifically. A proper literal hermeneutical approach to biblical interpretation — recognizing and accepting symbols and other literary forms for what they are — is how one should properly interpret the Bible. Follow this method of biblical interpretation and you won’t get lost down the rabbit hole of the latest crackpot theory and find yourself ensnared in the cult of the Flat-Earthers.

One item I have thought would potentially happen is covert and/or overt Cultists would participate on DinarVets. Wherever there is money and potentially gullible people, the Cultists, like "flat" Earth "advocates", will ply their lies to take advantage of the gullible and otherwise unsuspecting.

First the Big Lie.

Then restate over and over again in every possible way.

Of couse, DO NOT answer direct questions to reveal the Cult LIES.

Like:

Do YOU ("flat" Earth "advocate" (cultist)) believe the Sun rises and sets even as The Bilbe notes???!!!

Malachi 1:11

New American Standard Bible

11 For from the rising of the sun even to its setting, My name shall be great among the nations, and in every place frankincense is going to be offered to My name, and a grain offering that is pure; for My name shall be great among the nations,” says the Lord of armies.

The motives for Cultists taking advantage of others are varied and ussually are predominantly:

  • Ego.
  • Prestige.
  • Power.
  • Money.

Not necessarily in that order or priority.

This last article is revealing and worth the read.

I intent to, and my opinion is everyone should, point out Cultists and avoid them if they are confronted for their Cult beliefs and/or practices and they choose to continue in their Cult beliefs and/or practices.

So Why is Flat Earth Dangerous to Christianity?

Persisting in the Flat Earth belief goes against everything that science and astronomy has progressed and proven with repeatable evidence and predictions for the past 2,000 years. What we observe with sunrises/sunsets, the moon phases, time zones, eclipses, constellations, circumpolar stars, and how equatorial telescopes work with celestial coordinates just isn’t possible over a flat earth.

If Flat Earthers are so adept in the scientific method, then they should be able to present and prove their claims with evidence and experiments that are repeatable, peer reviewed, and able to make predictions from. It’s not my problem they get the math and physics wrong, and get hostile when told so. Just simply saying, “well NASA this, secret society that, NASA lies, Genesis 1, black swan photo, blah blah blah…” again, that’s just pigeon chess.

Christian Flat Earthers who thump the Bible and constantly claim “astronomers are fake, astronomy isn’t a real science,  astrophotography is fake,” etc., are just making people think that Christians are stupid and/or have mental problems. But when you think about it, wouldn’t the idea of Christians looking stupid something be conjured up by the same fallen angel whose biggest deceit is convincing the world he doesn’t exist?  Is it possible that this movement was started by con men trying to see how many Christians would fall for it?

The Bible has its share of poetic and figurative passages that Flat Earthers often cite to suit their claims, including Job 38:5, 12-14, Isaiah 11:12, 40:22, and Revelation 7:1, 20:7. These are verses that talk about the “four corners/ends of the earth, circle of the earth, straight lines, etc…” that do not blatantly say the earth is flat, but are clearly misinterpreted and taken out of context!

There are NO passages outright saying the earth is flat, nor that you need to believe the earth is flat to receive salvation or “be saved” as Christianity would put it. But falling for false truths, false messiahs, and taking verses out of context is definitely warned about a lot, and is a big trap that everyone, including Christians, need to be cautious of.

Christian Flat Earthers who continue to stay on this path and lead more people into this mindset are not doing Christianity any favors. Going as far as teaching children and indoctrinating them into believing outlandish ideas like “Globe Earth equals 666/Satan,” will lead to more people who are intellectually crippled, and unable to contribute to centuries of progress and innovations towards STEM fields. They’re not making Christianity better, they’re just making gullible people more scientifically illiterate!

It can lead to a dangerous road where people dive further into conspiracies that thrive because people will just believe anything they’re told without proper research – so it’s no wonder we have our share of Anti-Vaxxers and Climate Change Deniers.

Several professed flat earthers have been exposed as pathological liars, scammers and con-men. Bob Knodel (who passed away in 2023), the person who founded the “Globebusters” YouTube Channel and was featured in this infamous clip from “Behind the Curve” used to go along claiming he was a commercial pilot until he got exposed as none of the such….Thanks, Bob!

Flat Earthers often like to post pictures and videos of their flat earth claims with the whole “I can see this from this far away” cliché, but can easily lie about height, distance, and orientation.

Here is YouTuber MCToon delivering a knockout blow to such a claim, and also exposing the claimant as a con artist and criminal scammer! It may be an hour long video… but trust me, it’s WELL WORTH every minute of your time!

It also leads to unstable behaviors that cross beyond honest and respectable boundaries – the kind that would result in fists being thrown by parents defending their children! For example, one well known Flat Earth YouTuber got arrested for harassing elementary school children at a school playground, and was stupid enough to post videos of himself doing the act. Another Flat Earth YouTuber, Anthony Riley, known as Sleeping Warrior, has openly admitted to posing as a child online in attempts to preach his flat earth nonsense to other children – where is Chris Hansen when you need him?! You can watch Youtuber FTFE’s analysis of Riley’s revelation and see the evidence screenshots in FTFE’s video – language NSFW – beginning at the 5:03 mark.

It has also led to loss of life! Lets not forget about the crazy professed Flat Earther, “Mad Mike Hughes who died after his homemade rocket crashed in an attempt to “prove a flat earth,” (although Hughes’ actual beliefs have been disputed, it still led to the loss of a life because of people buying into the conspiracy!). A flat earth leader, Rob Skiba, died from covid-19 related pneumonia in 2021 because he refused a vaccine that could have saved his life – and there are more who succumbed to the disease out of ignorance and stubbornness. Perhaps we’ll one day witness a religious cult that commits suicide over the appearance of a great comet… oh wait, that actually happened in 1997.

At the end of the day, I know that no matter what I say or what evidence I produce, I won’t convince the people who are deep into this movement. But the people who have not yet fallen into this trap are still reachable, and I would be more than happy to discuss.

If you’re a Christian who is on the fence about this, I must urge you to do better research than simply listening to some stranger on YouTube with a smartphone and internet connection. They may sound like they know what they’re talking about, but for every one video claiming indisputable proof of Flat Earth, you’ll find perhaps ten videos debunking that “proof.”

If you have honest questions related to astronomy that you’d like me to answer and address, by all means don’t hesitate to contact me or leave a comment!

Flat Earthers are becoming way too predictable, simply reciting the same things over and over, and are running out of new things to say.

Astronomy people like me have nothing to hide. We are not hiding any secret information and we would be happy to personally demonstrate how our telescopes work, and what we can observe in the sky that proves the Earth is a spinning globe. But you have to stop hiding behind your keyboard and show an open mind to learning something!

DON’T be like the clowns who comment on my social posts saying my astrophotos are fake! I can gladly show you the raw files taken directly from my camera SD cards, and if my work looks THAT good to you, then I must be doing something right!

https://orionbearastronomy.com/2020/06/26/why-flat-earth-is-dangerous-to-christians/

Here is the video (caution language):

It is with a very heavy heart and extreme sadness that some could so distort The Bible so as to construe The Bible as saying the Earth is "flat".

People are being driven away from being a Christian due to the lie from Satan that the Earth is "flat" by supposed Christians and the Satanic lie stating The Bible states the Earth is "flat".

The explosive damage "flat" Earth is causing to REAL Christianity is incalculable and brings extreme hardship on REAL Christians with, yet, even more persecution and far less credibility by those not born again eventhough The Bible and the Salvation message through the Shed Blood Of God The Son Jesus Christ is absolutely potent.

"flat" Earth.

:facepalm3:   :facepalm3:   :facepalm3:

Lies.

Lies.

LIES.

From the father of lies.

Honestly, I don't know why you got a ruby for this question. Of all the things you post it's a legitimate question. And in my opinion it's something akin to a force field created by the power of God.

In the late 50s and early 60s we launched several nuclear weapons trying to break through but nothing ever did get past it.
