Samuel Rowbotham of London, England came up with the farce of Flat Earth.

No picture from space showing the continents.

No physical mapping of the flat earth to prove the picture of the U.N. map used by Flat Earthers.

In a recent revelation, GOP presidential candidate Hirsh Singh has brought to light controversial details concerning Vivek Ramaswamy’s political affiliations and voting history. Documentation obtained from the Franklin County, Ohio Board of Elections suggests that Ramaswamy is not a registered Republican but, rather, a registered “Unaffiliated” voter.

In an X post (formerly Twitter), Singh wrote, “Per documentation received by Vivek Ramswamy’s Franklin County, Ohio Board of Elections Vivek is not a registered Republican, but Registered Unaffiliated and never voted in a Republican Primary in his entire life.”

Dr. Todd Grande does a reputably reasonable and comprehensive assessment of the "flat" Earth mental disorder/delusion.

The video is well worth the watch especially at the  8:03 mark where he discusses the delusional aspects of "flat" Earth "believers" and the following 8:47 mark where he discusses the "flat" Earth "believers" Explanations that have no basis in reality compared to the real evidence of a Spherical (geoidal) Earth.

Some may be, others genuinely believe in it. I think there are three types of serious flat Earthers:

Little kids

Illiterate religious nuts

Schizophrenics, in specific people suffering from psychosis. Psychosis may be from Schizophrenia or drugs.

It’s really easy to pretend to be one, ages ago I made a fake flat earther instagram account (which immediately got hacked) but in the few days I had it I got at least 30 followers, all I needed to do was call some people sheeples, mention god and say the government is lying on two separate posts

Like they're not that many just leave them believe whatever they want they won't break the world with their delusions....

I try to ignore their existence but it's always a pleasure to see a flat earther disprove himself while trying to proof experimentally that the earth is flat...

The study also revealed that individuals who believed in a flat earth showed lower levels of science literacy compared to those who did not. This was evident across various dimensions of science literacy, including basic facts, understanding scientific methods, quantitative reasoning, and cognitive reflection. The differences in science literacy between flat earth believers and non-believers were statistically significant.

Furthermore, the researchers found that flat earth believers exhibited higher levels of overconfidence in their scientific knowledge. Among flat earth believers, a significant portion (24.7%) claimed to know the same or more than scientists, while this percentage was much lower (2.2%) among those who believed the earth isn’t flat.

“One of our main concerns is that some respondents may be simply being ironic or expressing doubts regarding the earth’s shape for other reasons (to be ‘cool’, to be different, etc.),” Arroyo-Barrigüete noted. “Given that the statistical analysis shows a pattern, it seems that this is not the case.”

“If all those who expressed doubts about the shape of the earth had done so simply for being ironic or other reasons, we would not have found the pattern of low scientific culture and high overconfidence, which was exactly what we expected. However, some respondents surely fall into this category, and in future works, we would like to refine the study design to rule out those who declare themselves as flat-earthers for spurious reasons.”

The study, "link can be found in the article“, was authored by Jose Luis Arroyo-Barrigüete, Carlos Bellón Núñez-Mera, Jesús Labrador Fernández, and Victor Luis De Nicolas.

Dunning–Kruger effect and flat-earthers: An exploratory analysisjlarrh

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the factors influencing belief in a flat Earth. We focus on Spain, a country that sadly has some of the most relevant figures on this topic in the Spanish-speaking world. After a qualitative analysis of YouTube videos on the main channels on the subject, a survey was carried out on 1252 individuals. The results point to two conclusions. First is the presence of a considerable Dunning–Kruger effect among flat-earthers. There is a significant negative correlation between science literacy—overall and practically all its dimensions—and overconfidence in science in this group. The second, evaluated through a regression tree, confirms that the interaction of low scientific literacy and overconfidence is highly relevant in explaining the belief in a flat earth. Neither factor alone is determinant, but the combination of the two (low scientific literacy and high overconfidence) leads to high levels of flat earth belief.

I live about 40 miles from Ontario, Or. The lightning show we had was awesome. There were bolts all over the place. Not a lot of thunder so it was a far distance away. Some rumbling. Enough to put the dogs on edge.

There are some counties in Oregon that are trying to get annexed into Idaho. The ones I have driven through are Trump country from the signs and talking to people there.
