The Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Qabas stated, "The Senior Undersecretary of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Abdul Karim Hashem, arrives tomorrow, heading the Iraqi delegation, which will attend the meeting of the follow-up committee concerned with examining what has been accomplished on what was agreed upon in the Kuwaiti-Iraqi Joint Higher Committee, which was postponed at the end of August." The meeting dealt with the overall close bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and discussed a number of issues of common concern. The Special Follow-up Committee of the Joint Kuwaiti-Iraqi Higher Ministerial Committee held its meeting yesterday, where the Kuwaiti side was chaired by Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Al-Jarallah, while the Iraqi side was headed by the Senior Undersecretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Abdul Karim Hashem. In a speech at the beginning of the meeting, Al-Jarallah pointed to the depth of the existing fraternal relations between the two countries, praising the recent achievements of these relations, stressing the importance of moving forward in order to reach the partnership between the two countries. For his part, the Senior Undersecretary delivered a speech in which he praised the bilateral relations between the two countries and their keenness to reach new heights after which the committee meetings began to consider the agenda and review the topics mentioned on it. The committee reviewed the agenda of the eighth session of the joint Kuwaiti-Iraqi Higher Ministerial Committee, which will be held during the last quarter of this year. The two sides expressed satisfaction with the spirit that prevailed in the meetings and keenness to accomplish the work entrusted to the committee, reflecting the depth and strength of fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries and the keenness of the wise leadership in both countries to strengthen and develop them in all fields.
