Deputy: The House of Representatives will resume its role and work after a month
[Baghdad-Where]
Representative Walid Sahlani, on Monday, suggested that the House of Representatives would return to its role and work a month later.
Al-Sahlani said, "The exceptional circumstances that have passed on the world, clearly and with the impact of the Corona pandemic, confirmed that holding the sessions is not an optional issue, but it is a compelling issue because of this epidemic."
He added, "Parliament is in its legislative recess as timings cannot be crossed, so I think that after a month the parliament can exercise its role and work."
And he added, "But we need to create an appropriate healthy environment in which legislators can meet to take decisions that would lift even a small part of the burden that burdens the citizen."
And the head of the Parliamentary Services and Reconstruction Committee continued, that his committee "practices its work in following up the service sectors supervising it and most of the committees practice their work normally and there is no shirking of responsibility by members of the House of Representatives to hold the sessions," indicating that "in the Al-Fateh bloc we called to hold special sessions for circumstances." The special meeting is being studied by the presidency, with the hope that it will take place in the coming days. "
