So what happens when some cities, counties, and states decide to prosecute and bring the full power of the Law down on these ring-leaders of RIOTS, violence and destruction, while other cities, counties, and states decide to ignore the lawlessness and chaos happening before them and give the Rioters a FREE PASS?

The attorney for one of the accused police officers, in the George Floyd murder case, said that the latter "killed himself" due to a drug overdose and his death was not the result of police intervention to arrest him.

The Los Angeles Times reported that Earl Gray, Thomas Lane's attorney, had already filed court papers alleging that Floyd had died as a result of an overdose of the powerful opioid fentanyl.

The newspaper said that Gray says that with the papers he has submitted to the court, he will help acquit the accused police officers, including Derek Chauvin, a Minneapolis officer who showed a video clip pressing his knee to Floyd's neck while the latter pleaded, "I can't breathe."

Hennepin County's most recent coroner report on the cause of Floyd's death indicated that he died as a result of his heart failure, and said that although his neck was compressed when the officer put his knee on it, this did not directly cause his death.

"None of these men, even Chauvin, killed Floyd," Gray told the newspaper.

"He killed himself, and I will prove that my clients and the rest of the policemen were doing their job," he added.

The veteran criminal defense attorney said he would base his case on toxins and autopsy reports, which found fentanyl and methamphetamine in Floyd's body.

He explained that recently published police camera footage gave a more complete picture of the arrest, and showed a white spot on Floyd's tongue that looked like "milligrams of fentanyl, which is a lethal dose," he said.

Alexander Koenig, Thomas Lane and Tu Thao are facing charges of aiding and abetting the killing of Floyd during his arrest on May 25.

Chauvin is facing second-degree murder charges after he appeared in a video tape of the incident, pressing his knee on Floyd's neck for about nine minutes.

The four officers have been fired from the police department as they face an investigation by the Minnesota Board of Peace Officer Standards and Training.

The killing of Floyd raised a wide echo and massive protests within America and around the world to denounce police brutality against blacks, and to demand the need to reform them.
