US has largest debt in world history, dollar to lose status as No.1 currency – Jim Rogers

The US dollar is becoming less appealing for investors as American debt continues to soar and the greenback is printed to cover it, investor Jim Rogers said at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

The American currency will lose the status of main reserve currency much sooner than 2030, Rogers said at the Valdai Club’s discussion session, held as part of SPIEF.

 

“Dollar is going to be higher than now because the turmoil is coming. Then, it is going to be overpriced and people will look around and say, ‘America’s got the largest debt in the history of the world. It’s printing money as fast as it can,’” the investor said.

People will look at what Brazil, Russia, China, India, Iran and other developing countries are doing, Rogers said. “They are forming a competing currency right now,” he added. So, the dollar alternative will come from the countries that “have been bossed by the US, and they don’t like it, but have enough power to do something about it.”

Rogers went on to say that organizations such as the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank “have never been right about anything” and should be abolished, since they have been politically dependent on the United States for decades.

Speaking separately to RT, the businessman said that sanctions and trade wars are the biggest threat to the world’s economic stability. “The world has learned throughout history that closing off is not good, opening up is good,” Rogers said.

Well if you study Jefferson, and what he had to say, you will find that the decline of great countries and economies begin when governments realize that the way to stay in power is to make promises to the people you know you cannot keep, by hocking the future to give free stuff away to buy votes from people who become dependent on Gov so they (the politicians) can keep their sorry corrupt A$$es in office and power.

...and let's not forget the operatives that have an agenda to destroy the USA from within...Our economy has been under attack from within since the 60's...People luckily awoke after the blatant acts of the obummer administration...This country has been ruled long enough by politicians and bankers...and they must be revealed and prosecuted for treasonous acts...this includes the dismantling of the Federal Reserve...and all unconstitutional acts investigated since 1858...and retributive actions should result in the Rothchilds paying back the amount of the United States total debt...jmho

Don't forget the dumbing down of the population...  The Egyptians. Romans and every other empire reduced the importance of educating their people... Go talk to a teenager, they are clueless about history, or current events... But they can tell you the cheat codes to any video game...

Dumb is being kind to these hormonal fools. Just saw an on the street video of young people being ask would they rather date a Trump supporter or a MS-13 gang member. Over 85% choose MS-13. They may having been trying to be cool and cute but they are a bunch of uninformed morons and to think they will be running this country one day.

Yeah, 85% wanting to be contrary just to be contrary or "Anti Establishment" doesn't support the necessary means to maintain and grow the Liberties and Freedoms this Country of The United States Of America has afforded us until now and could be sustained if the "young people" would so choose.

I hear ya Obama bust out 12 Trillion USD...But you got look at the bright side of it. All those Dollars printed you couldn't get a majority of them back even if you wanted too...which would still have the USD still as #1...

That's sad, even sadder is our "Conservative" government just raised our debt to 20 Trillion with reduced income and increased spending...  Do any of these people in Washington really care about the future of America? It sure doesn't look like it to me.
