• Police identify shooter as Estaban Santiago with no clear motive. 
• 5 people dead
• 13 people shot
• Airport being cleared from airport
• SWAT guns drawn descending on Terminal 1
• People runnning across runway

2:39 PM  -

• Greg Meyer - public info officer - airport completely shut down (this was from his own words on NBC Miami) no flights in and out. Last flight left tarmac around 2:30PM.
• Terminal One / Outside baggage claim / Parking garage - people are cowering behind large SUVs, people running across runways. Don't know if second suspect or if they are going after suspects vehicle.
• 8 hurt, 5 dead

Witness is p.o.'d that authorities are making people put their hands up and searching everyone.....

Seems Santiago had a Military I.D.... don't know if he's active duty or not...

or if it's even his own I.D.

Still no motive...

He finished 3 magazines with his assault rifle, then just sat down and allowed himself to be taken

by authorities....

When in this type of scenario where it is developing and the authorities don't know, searching everyone is standard op procedure. Haven't verified about military id. I do know they are worried about a second shooter in the parking garage.

Passengers are going to be po'd due to being held on the tarmac and not releasing them. The second shooter scenario is from internal police radio traffic that is being monitored.

Yuh... the witness did apologise for being mad about that after the interviewer told him it was necessary...

Guess he's just in shock... he was standing right there !  Can't blame him for not thinking clearly !

 

Some say the echo of the shooters actual shots were resonating through the buildings, so it sounded like

more than one scene....

Now there saying there may well be another active shooter scenario in that parking garage, but a witness

saw an officer with a dog coming out of there and he was calm, so was the dog...

Police are spreading through the garage... they're saying cops do have a 2nd guy handcuffed in there...

related...? we don't know yet....

maybe the shooter had back-up...

 TSA telling press in fact active shooter at FLL (2;57PM) not sure where

All operations suspended terminated.

All flights within 50 miles from FLL landing at Miami Int'l airport

5 people dead, 8 injured.

Gunman went into terminal 2 baggage claim area started shooting up place. 

Gunman from NJ. 

2;59 Heavy Armored SWAT enter Parking garage

No word on 2nd Active Situation other than TSA tweet

Still no word on second shooter situation. SWAT went into garage with heavy armor. Traffic is horrendous into the airport. All traffic stopped going into the airport (6 lane highway bumper to bumper backed up for miles).

Thanks, OWL -- we see that they're still acting like it's an active scene at the parking garage.......

but folks around the terminal itself seem calm, as well as officers there....

 

Can't imagine the traffic out there ! 

We never drive around there when we're in that area anyway because of normal traffic

being so bad... can't even imagine what it's like right now....yikes !

• Second shooter situation - shots from unconfirmed source. Lots of activity in garage after scene was thought to be under control.
• Multiple law enforcement jurisdictions respond.
• Numerous civilian faintings on tarmac because they have been on tarmac for at least two hours and not sure how much longer.
• TSA going have to take all people in or around Term. 2 through check process again.
• Planes landed about 90 minutes ago have been stuck on tarmac with passengers on board and no place for them to go. Temperature on tarmac is extremely high.

where's the statement in THAT..?

if he wanted to get arrested, he could have just turned his crazy azz in himself... peaceful like.

First, most airports are gun-free zones. Not going to get return fire when the people have no guns. However it was said when the gunman went to reload, the authorities with guns let him have it.

Second, I am speculating here, this might be tied to immigration and Trump or tied to radical Islam. The name suggests the first. It is still too early to answer this question. I will say this, whatever the excuse they will say the gunman was mentally ill. It seems to be the escape goat excuse as the go to answer. I disagree with this answer with many.

 

NBC 6 reporting saying something going on right now. (3:21PM) Numerous law enforcement on scene guns drawn searching for 2nd gunman.

NBC reporting moving people on tarmac over to hangar. Inside airport, one of the restaurant has people barricaded inside whom are not letting the police to come in due to being so frightened they don't feel safe to come out.

FAA reports ground stop to FLL at this time this is country wide. All flights nationally and internationally are being diverted to Miami.

Don't know why somebody didn't tackle his azz when he was changing clips....

Maybe the way he acted so calm telling people not to move, that they were just in shock...

They said he was aiming for people's heads....

 

The shooter had come off a Canadian FLight, got his bag off the carousel, took out his weapon and opened fire...

wonder if somebody on the plane flight had pissed him off or something..
