learning all i can
The typical U. S. household headed by a person 65 or older has a net worth 47 times greater than one headed by someone under 35, according to an analysis of census data released Monday. They like to refer to us as senior citizens, old fogies, old geezers and in some cases as dinosaurs. Some of us are "Baby Boomers" getting ready to retire. Others have been retired for some time. We walk a little slower these days and our eyes and hearing are not what they once were, but we have raised our children, worked hard and worshipped our God and grown old together. Sooooo, before you "youngsters" write us off completely, there are a few things you should take in to consideration. In school we studied English, history, math and science, which enabled us to lead America into this technological age. Most od remember what outhouses were, many of with 1st hand experience. We remember the days of telephone party-lines, 25 cent gas and milk and ice being delivered to our homes. A few of us even remember when cars started with a crank. Yep, we lived those days and probably are old fashioned and out-dated, but there a few things you need to remember............. WE won World War ll, WE fought in Korea and Viet Nam. WE can quote the Pledge of Allegiance and know where to place our hand when doing so. WE wore the uniform of our country with pride and lost many friends on the battlefield. WE didn't fight doe the Socialist States of America; we fought for the "Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave. WE know the words to the Star Spangled Banner, America and America the beautifull" by heart, and you may even see some tears running down our cheeks as we sing. WE have no need to apologize to anyonenin America. Yes we are old and slow these days but rest assured, WE have ATLEAST ONE GOOD FIGHT LEFT IN US. WE have loved this country, fought for it and now WE are going to save it. It's our country and nobody is going to take it away from us. WE took oaths to defend Her against all enemies, foreign and domestic and that is an oath WE plan to keep. It was mostly the young people of OUR nation who elected obama and the Democatic congress. You fell for the "hope and change" which in reality was nothing but hype and lies. You youngsters have now tasted so ialism and seen evil face to face and yku have found that you don't like it after all. You have made a lot of noise, but most are all too interested in your careers and climbing that social ladder to be involved in such mudane things as patriotism and votiong. Yes, most fell for that "great lie" in 2008 and now having buyer's remorse. 'Now you're paying the price and complaing about it. No jobs, lost mortgages, higher taxes and less freedom. WE entrusted you with the TORCH OF LIBERTY, and you traded it all for lies, lies and false hope. Well, don't worry younsters, the Grey-haired-Brigade is here, and 20016 we are going to take back our nation. Yep, we may drive a little slower than you would like but WE get where we're going and in 2016 we will be at the polls by the millions. This land doesn't belong to the man in the White House nor Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid nor the like of any mere man. It belongs to "WE THE PEOPLE" and "WE THE PEOPLE" plan to reclaim our land and freedom. We can only hope this time that we will do a better job of preserving and passing it along to our granchildren. Can you feel the ground shaking? Its not a earthquake. Yep, it's us old geezers and this " GREY-HAIRED-BRIGADE" will STAMPEDE the polls in 2016. IF YOU DON'T STAND BEHIND OUR TROOPS, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO STAND IN FRONT OF THEM. THE EMEMY CARES LITTLE WHO THEY KILL 1ST. UNITED WE STAND GOD BLESS AMERICA

DWitte
I may not be 63 (or older) or even close, 5+ years away, but I remember much of what the author is talking about and all of the thoughts on what this Country is and is about. I feel blessed that our Creator allowed me to be a member of this Country and to grow up here and to be an American. I may be embarrassed by Obama but I am still proud to be an American and a citizen of the United States of America. I always feel better when I say the whole thing instead of just USA.. Anyway, no lecture here. I just want you all to know how I feel about my blessing of being an American. And I'm also proud to say Thank You to all you Service Men and Women from any and all, well anything. There's no definition to cover all the wars, conflicts, skirmishes, police action (Korea) and/or secret stuff we know nothing about. I guess that's why we just say "Service". But I know some of you did so much more and for that I am truly grateful. I can't say that enough. But I can say it too much, so here I will stop. Thanks for reading.
