Mt. Goat - Monday Morning Update - Moving Forward

Recommended Posts

I like Goat today.. for all the news coming in the weekend flipping, spinning like a crazy roller coaster.  At least there is a summary that I can understand  :)  like with everything else, take it with a grain of salt and don't forget to breathe .. don't turn blue on me.  We need humor in rumor and read it as cartoon only :)

UU9432 -  “Moving Forward Again”

Hi Everyone,

I come to you today to give you a recent update on the election process and how this relates towards the international rollout of the IQD for Iraq.

Note: If you have not read my previous news letter from Friday 8/8 (LINK),  I encourage you to first read it. Today's news letter, as in all my news letters, is a continuation of the ongoing saga of the IQD RV process.

I need to reinforce everyone to hang tight and not sell you IQD. We will be exchanging at the banks with the new revalued rate shortly. I am going to now tell you why I believe this is true.

Today’s News

Today is Monday 08/11 and so it seems that the rollercoaster ride from over the weekend could be at an end…finally.

As you may already know  Iraq did not meet their constitutional deadline to announce a candidate for prime minister over the weekend. The new president Masum extended the deadline from Friday to Monday. Then articles came out telling us that we would get a new prime minister candidate by Sunday and not wait till Monday. Then we just heard announcement that we would have to now wait another week till 8/19 to hear any news.

So you see we can not trust the news media from Iraq anymore. You have to have someone who is living and breathing these events over in Iraq as a contact to truly learn what is happening. So I called my contact and we talked again for hours. It got complicated but I think I have it sorted out and I will tell you what I was told.

So after all these indecisions over the weekend,  today on Monday 8/11, the head of Iraq's National Shiite Alliance says it has chosen an alternate nominee for prime minister instead of incumbent Nouri al-Maliki. Hurry!  Hurry!

Ibrahim al-Jaafari said today in a statement that the alliance of Shiite political parties has agreed to nominate Haider al-Ibadi to replace Maliki and to form a new government.

Events over the Weekend

So here is what happened last week that led us to where we are in this Iraq election process. About mid week the USA and Iraq (Maliki was included in the conversation too) agreed that if the USA stepped up their support to combat the ISIS militants that:
 1) Maliki would step down and
  2) the National Alliance would come forth with their candidate.
The deadline was given  for Sunday 8/10.

We heard CNN and FOX news on Friday broadcast USA president Obama news conference referring to in the “coming days” we will see a new PM in Iraq. All looked pretty good going into the weekend.

So as promised we saw the USA begin the air raids from fighter jets stationed on one of the many aircraft carriers now in the Mediterranean sea. They hit on convoys and terrorists camps along the Syrian boarder and  provided protection to refugees and some USA advisors. The USA also dropped much needed food to refugees fleeing into Kurdistan. Thank you USA!

But Sunday came and went and still no announcement of the candidate for PM. Maliki still persisted that he should be that candidate. He would not allow the National Alliance to bring forth their candidate.

He tried to force the new president Masum into making a hasty decision by pressuring him with legal lawsuits and constitutional violations. The supreme Court has already made their ruling on the topic of who was the majority party. This part was over but not for Mailiki. He still persisted. What happened to following the law Maliki ? Guess its okay when its all in your favor?

He even slandered Masum is saying he was attempting a coupe by not meeting the deadline to announce the candidate.

If you can recall the 2010 election, most of the extensions on the constitutional timeframes were the making of Maliki since they were all in his favor and allowed him to continue his political pleas and shenanigans with the Kurds and others back then to support him for a second term. We know how it turned out.

If it were not for the Kurds and others back then he would never even have had a second term. They only allowed him that mandate because he promised them article 140 and HCL implementation.

He bargained too with Dr. Allawi and Talibani too who supported his second term because he promised them the implementation of the Erbil power sharing agreement and to seat all the prime ministers of his council within 30 days. Dr Allawi was   a bath party member and so in following the constitution (which prohibited a bath party member from serving in a presidential position) he stepped down from the PM position even though he was the majority winner in the elections. We all know none of this was done and so he stuck it to everyone. So why in hell would they now given him a third term?

He even threatened the USA president Obama of a lawsuit for supporting the effort to not allow him to seat a third term. How ridiculous! Can you see how foolish and desperate this man Maliki is?

This weekend too the Maliki news media also put a nice spin on the news about forces that moved in around Badhdad over the weekend. These forces were strictly for security of Badhdad government and parliament and not part of any coupe or takeover. How ridiculous again! A simple move on the part of the military misconstrued to look like a political move. Where are all the honest and intelligent journalists from the west? Have they all gone asleep?

So relax and just ignore the Maliki propaganda  machine. Oh boy ! - I have to tell you it was in full force this past weekend and it spread news of discontent and foul pay. The western news media stations do not know any better and did not do their jobs as journalists. They really, really bundled it when it comes to reporting of the factual news from Iraq over the past couple days.

Now that the candidate for PM is selected we will probably hear yet more of the same nonsense and rhetoric from Maliki. Just ignore it ! My mailbox is overflowing with requests for information regarding this nonsense. People you have to start thinking for yourselves. It’s not really that hard to think…. is it?

Summary

So today’s news is all very, very good news as it went from very bad to very good in a couple of days once again.

What can we expect next?

So the clock stops ticking and the new PM was announced today on Monday. He is also voted in by parliament and accepted by the majority.

He has not however taken his oath of office yet to begin his job.

He must also now sign a new document pledging to not only refrain from corruption but to report any dealings he may uncover about others while in office. There is also many other conditions in this document to help preserve non-sectarianism and democracy.

Future immunity from prosecution is also be lifted on newly elected politicians so they can no longer play this corruption game. Believe me Maliki could not have done the wrongs he has done alone. There were many more conspirators.

We should hear the announcement soon and be introduced to his new council of ministers (or cabinet). This must be publicized soon in order to see any currency revaluation of the completion of the currency reform project, something we have all been patiently waiting for.
 .
When can we expect the RV?

All I will say is what I have been saying all along. Since the PM is now selected (the third of the three presidents) we wait for the oath of office to be administered and the public announcement. This will be our sign that the RV is just around the corner.

I want to emphasize once again this final announcement  of the IQD going international will not happen until the USA feels the Iraq government is stable, non-sectarian and is a functional government. This is has been the plan all along. They may have wavered a bit on how the plan was implemented but the overall plan guidelines have not changed.

Peace and Luv To Ya All,

Mnt Goat

I'm gonna say it..... 8-15-14 to 8-18-14 are some of the luckiest days for me because of Jupiter an Venus in a grand grind in Leo my opposite sign. Something to do with unexpected money from a spouse and something I held onto for awhile about to surprise me in a substantial way. Please let this happen. I know about money from the spouse. Its the other I'm concerned with. :)
