dontlop
The link to what. It's a screen shot I took on my phone it was someone selling dinar on eBay Oh Well there's all kinds of people that believe all kinds of things They did get a few new notes Recently with different security features And the ability for blind people to read them But no new currency that replaces this one so it seems he's warning people that this currency is going to be worthless ? And does anybody want to buy it ? Or stay away from it ? Who knows Some seller said something I thought after your first post it was some kind of eBay discloser Turns out it was some speculator commentary Sounds like something a lopster would put on eBay I Hear them say that in the tank Oh this currency is worthless crap The next currency is going to be good to buy I heard those exact same words from ewingm He's in the tank every day Maybe he can explain it I doubt it But you can try him 1
stealthwarrior
With what has happened in Iraq already and the coming events like Kurdistan becoming its own country, new currency has to be printed and the paper we hold will be worthless. 4

A religious, and ethnic civil war brewing is not enough reason to dump dinar? Ive been selling my stash on ebay and its always different buyers from different parts of the country. I dont see much of a pattern if any. 50,000 dinar auctions seem to sell the best. With what has happened in Iraq already and the coming events like Kurdistan becoming its own country, new currency has to be printed and the paper we hold will be worthless. markb57
I think a lot of folks that say they are hanging on are really selling out. Thinking about it now myself
ToniJ
I trust Adam will comment on the status of Dinar if it is worthless. I have held little over 4years now and understood it was a risk with Hopes of a better position to invest elsewhere. So I will Hold, Hope and Wait for Adam's chat tomorrow it should be interesting.
Francie26
I was going to ignore this thread, but then I realized that I had something to say. If I lost belief in the RV, I would also, at the same time, lose my interest in being on Dinarvets posting. I would have lots of other things to do than to sit on a dinar site complaining that the RV would not happen and we were going to lose our money. If I thought that, I would simply sell and leave here. Now, maybe others of you just want to vent, and if so, then go ahead, but it sure seems like a waste of good time to do that when there are so many other more promising things to do with your time. For what it's worth, I am keeping my dinar. I invested in it, believing it was going to RV, although I did think it would do so much sooner than it is, but I still believe it will do so, and I still want the benefit of owning dinar when that happens. For me, this is the nearest I have ever come to being truly wealthy, and the money I have invested is a small price to pay for feeling every day that I own that chance. Just before I bought my dinar, I had to sell my house, one I loved, and move in with my daughter and her family, where I have lived for the past 4 years, but recently I moved to Florida where I live with a friend from high school (a very long time ago). When I sold my house, I also sold almost all my lovely furniture and collector's items I had acquired over many years of making my home beautiful. For me that loss was huge. But I did end up with enough money to buy dinar, and every day since then, my ownership of dinar is the only thing that has kept me feeling empowered. So maybe it is my particular circumstances, my need, if you will, that causes me to believe in the coming RV, but it is my lifeline, my hope for the future, and I am not going to dump it unless or until I can come up with something else as promising. One more thing and then I'll be finished--I will be fine if the dinar does not RV, if the world doesn't fulfill it's promise to me to finally give me what I have long wanted, a life free of strife and worry, but I have already experienced that, so I know I can handle it if that becomes necessary. But I just will never believe it will become necessary--not as long as I own dinar. Edited July 14, 2014 by Francie26
Vintage
Francis I read your post and I understand your feeling. I bought my dinar at first with disbelief anything could happen but then thought what if it did and I have spent a lot more money than I spent on Dinar over the years on things that didn't have the potential to increase. I know several people that got in about the same time I did have sold out, but I hang on to my small holdings, because I believe at some point it will be worthwhile to have done so, be it that it increases in value or that our dollar so decreases that having dinar is better than having dollars. I dreamed of bigger and better things at first and of it bringing an end to my high mortgage on a home I can not sell, to help get rid of my debt etc. While I have waited however I have slowly worked my way out of debt, still have the house unfortunately but I am also making plans to change that scenario even at a loss as I move to a smaller and much more simple life. Now if the dinar RV's the fact is it won't change my plan, it may just make a few things easier, but I have moved beyond the dream of the dinar to making a new life that has less stuff but much more of what really matters. I sometimes think that having the dinar was the inspiration to think outside the box and stand up when others say things are impossible Hang in there Francis and continue to dream because dreams do come true. Francie26
Thank you so much, Vintage. I am very happy to have your support and to read your views of our dinar and why you chose to invest in it. I don't have enough that the money I spent for it would have changed my life much, maybe three or four extra months of paying my bills and staying in my house. I was lucky, in one way. When I sold my house, it sold quickly and for well over what I had invested in it because it was such a lovely little home. Good care and love put into a home (and good taste in decorating-- haha) makes a huge difference when the time comes to sell a house. I hope I am right on the dinar, and it RV's for an exorbitant amount of money, but even if I am wrong, I have had over four years of hope, all due to the possibilities inherent in dinar ownership.
rulesforrebels
I don't think its a ploy or trying to be misleading. It seems many people get confused between the old saddam notes or swiss notes and new stuff, so despite pictures of the notes and everything els they are probably just trying to clarify these are new notes and not old saddam notes. Also, I don't really know if this is true or not but I hear some people are looking specifically for the 2013 or newer notes. Some people say they have minorly changed security features or something. Not sure if that's true but I hear people on forums saying it so maybe they are more recent printnigs of the dinar, obviously same value and same currency but different mint year basically. Same way you can look at a coin or bill and see if its a 2010 or 2014. I sell a decent amount of pistol grips and other things on ebay and have a subscription to terapeak which basically does analyitcs on ebay sales and searches. The term "new" along with any iraqi dinar terms is actually one of the top searched things so buyers are obviously searching for "new" iraqi Dinar. So basically eithr seller is trying to clarify these are not saddam notes. Possibly saying a newer mint year. Or if nothing else this seller sees its a popular searched term and adds it to their listing. Nothing noteworthy about this though. It's also not anything uniquwe to this seller. If you search new iraqi dinar you'll find dozens of other sellers also using that terminology.
