The Supreme Court has struck down most of the controversial Arizona immigration law, but upheld a key provision.

The provision that was upheld requires state and local police officers, during routine stops, to check the immigration status of anyone they suspect could be in the country illegally.

Other provisions, though, were struck down.

The federal government claimed the law encroached on its authority to enforce immigration law.

Kind of difficult to encroach on a law that the feds are not enforcing.

Hey great! And while we are at it, let's just open up the southern borders and provide each illegal alien an AK47, along with a voter registration card that allows them to vote for only democrats while we are at it.

But since the Obama administration won't do it's Constitutional duties, what does the NOT-SO Supremes expect the country to do? Have us go down to the border and defend our country from invasion ourselves? I'm ready.

Seriously this legal loophole political crap seems to be creating a lot of frustration in the population.

"Encroaching" on a the FED powers to enforce laws they refuse to enforce? This kind of crap is what leads to revolution. When people start scratching their heads and going "wait whaaaat" we're being bamboozled...then the silent majority begins allocating energy towards creating change in corrupt governments...kicking the deceptive/corrupt bastar*s out of office....at least thats what we need to be doing.

Force them to stop lying to us instead of taking it on the chin like we have for over a century.

Get back to the basics that made this country great in the first place and we will correct our course.

No big deal folks, the important part is in there, and this

ruling doesnt effect the other laws we have here....Its currently

against the law for an employer to hire illegal aliens,

(big fines if they're caught) and illegals aren't able to get

benefits either.....most have left for Cali or back across the

border.....So were really only worried about controlling the

ones trying to move through the state.....which is what the

Supreme Court upheld.

All bets are off after Nov anyway, with the Communist Regime

being ousted, were going to have a new interest in guarding

the border IMO

SB 1070 ruling expected to have little effect on law enforcement

by JJ Hensley - Jun. 25, 2012 01:20 PM

The Republic | azcentral.com

Arizona law-enforcement agencies can begin enforcing more aspects of Senate Bill 1070 as soon as a lower court's injunction on the law is lifted following a Supreme Court ruling Monday, but that enforcement will not change President Barack Obama's immigration priorities, according to senior administration officials.

The court's ruling upheld one key provision of the law -- requiring officers to make a reasonable attempt to determine the immigration status of a person stopped, detained or arrested if there's reasonable suspicion that person is in the country illegally -- but federal immigration officials will take action only if they conclude that the suspect is a violent criminal, has repeatedly violated immigration laws or recently crossed the border without authorization, a Department of Homeland Security official said in a conference call on Monday.

jg1, i am afraid after the split vote in November you will continue to hear Obama.

I don't think the vote will be jeopardized. The country is not inundated with as many mentally challenged individuals as some of the dinar sites might imply.
