If I were an IRS agent this would be a great place to find some good audit canidates. You know, people who say things like you just said. As much as I hate to pay taxes, pay them and go on. Change them by voting and educating others about how high they are. Also, the tax is not changing as Adam has stated. In the USA today paper an article came out today saying that there is a proposed additional tax on investment income of 3.8%. This tax is related to the HCB but not part of it. It is still a bill. Should it get passed it would start in 2013. The long term capital gains tax is currently 15%. It will change to 20% on 1-1-2011. This is built into the law and I do not see the congress changing it. The short term capital gains tax is currently at the highest tax bracket that you are in and maxes out at 35%. So if you have a short term gain now you will pay 35 % plus your state rate. No one knows how much tax you will pay if you wait until 2013. The rates could be anything by then.

Agree with most of the post but, have never heard of a system where you must pay a withholding tax when exchanging currency. The usual method of paying the tax on this type of transaction is through quarterly tax deposits and a final payment when filing your tax return. The tax deposit you have to pay depends on many factors and everyone should seek expert tax counsel.

It could also be called structuring. You live in a country and do not like the tax. OK vote and do what is legal to change it. Between now and then comply with paying the legal minimum tax or get out of the country. There are many benefits to living here and some of the taxes go to pay for them.

What makes you think that their people are saving enough dinar to make themselves millionaires? I dont know about you but I find it very hard to find anyone who has invested any in dinar around here. Most think that it is a scam. They will make some millionaires and I am sure they could not care less. They are not doing this for us and will not adjust their RV for us either. They are doing this for themselves and in their own timing. It is not about us. They have the oil and long after most of these new millionaires have spent all their money they sill still be selling oil and becoming richer and richer.

Interesting thought process. My question is how many assumptions are you having to make to get to this conclusion? Also, do you really think that this was setup years ago and based on the number of dinars each Iraq might or might not have today? So many opinions and calculated thoughts. So many ways to reason out why everyone is correct.

I have not paid for the VIP site but do respect his freedom to set up the site and charge. If people are willing to pay and he actually makes some money good for him. I believe that this process is called the Free Enterprise System and that is what this country was founded on. Don't slander him because you disagree with him. Find another site that you can enjoy and leave this one alone. As far as the "News Companies" letting you know. Keep watching. That will keep you off the road when we cash in. A company set just to hold an investment, like dinars or stocks, etc. will have strict guide lines from the IRS as to tax status and capital gains. It may not qualify for standard treatment from a tax stand point as would a company that is set up for consulting or some other business purpose. Also, it does not matter what you call it, if all of it's material actions/revenue are for the investment then it is an investment company. I would not play games with these type issues. One move in the wrong direction it could be fraud which has a 100% penalty and could include jail time. Granted I think that we pay too much in taxes but we still live in the greatest country in the world and pay less taxes then most of the rest of the world. Pay the legal minimum tax and go on about enjoying your investments.

This is absolutely false. Once again, GET A TAX PROFESSIONAL CPA OR TAX ATTORNEY. I do not know how many dinars you have of the gain you may end up with but do not leave such an important return up to a "Financial Advisor" who is not trained in taxes. You will be the one to pay the penalty and interest and our "Financial Advisor" will be the one that you can not find or making excuses.

Currency Exchanges for $200 or less are not taxed. All other exchanges are taxable. Good simple expanation about the capital gains long term and short term above. It is correct. To get long term treatment you must hold the asset for over a year. One year plus a day or more. If you stand to make many dollars on this you should consult a professional for advise and preparing your tax return. It is well worth your while to pay a CPA or tax attorney to at least review your return before it is files. A few hundred dollars spent now could save thousands in penalties, interest or audit fees. Even though I am a CPA I will have my return reviewed by another CPA before I file it. Hate to make a mistake and pay to much tax, or too little and pay a penalty and interest.

Being wrong about when the RV is going to happen is one thing. Saying that it is illegal to own dinar or remove them from Iraq is another. I went to the BOA last week in Tulsa OK, on 71st. The banker that I talked to called the foreign currency department and was told that they do not buy or sell dinars. He showed me a web site that did not have the dinar on it and that is why he was told they do not deal with it. With all that is going on in iraq now I am sure that this could change from day to day.

You cannot get onto Medic's site because it is not open to any new users. It takes to long to train them to shut up and not disagree with Medic.

I have been enjoying learning of dinar for a while. I am sure of a RV but not when. However, I will be there when it happens and lay up funds for my children and their children as my God says I should.
