Megawat::::With a straight RD the REAL value of all goods in-country does not change only the numbers on the price-tag....Stuff that is imported was paid for in $ before the RD and will be paid for in $ after... 20MIL ::: the CBI lists the conversion of QD to a lot of other currencies on their web site for comparison only... the key thing that even if IQD did show up on any Forex for reference the report was NO BIDs and NO ASKs that is it DID NOT trade! After the RD Iraqi's will be OK...BUT the CBI would be Happy IF NONE of these dinar come back!!! Think about that! Found dinar!

There is an old logic game .. It goes like this: If you went to sleep . and when you woke up everything (including you) was 1000 times bigger ---- would you know that it happened?

The key date is Oct 1.. If CIB is to do the "raise the zeros" on Jan1 they will begin to make that clear,then .If you were importer/exporter need to plan at least 90 days in advance, of course most would deal in dollars. ..They will not cripple their commerce by springing a currency change overnight...Some Iraqis would caught in the change ... Bad for the government .Look for any objections to go away and most press releases to be pro-RD..It's political so there will alwys be desenters..

20::: Thanks for the "grounding " on this speculation., and prediction on the economy..Scarry , but probable...Oil at less than $70 would be a mixed blessing. As for the dinar : Jan 1 IS the date for the RD...Everything lines up. It will be a 7 day holiday in Iraq. So all the adjustments can take place when banks are closed..Dont think an RD and a rate bump at the same time is the plan but could do a small one .86 to .90 just to create the illusion of a gain against the dollar. Now the big question , when will the dinar trade on forex(international)? I think not until the current dinar is demonitized. 1/1/2015 at present. But I would be weary, that date is arbitrary and they could pull the plug at any time with little warning...The CBI would always have a finger on the trigger..As soon as they thought the new dinar was in sufficient supply they would call all the old dinar in...

Now begins the campaign to educate the masses that a new currency is comming...SOON! The extra cost is not significant as some is born by the cost to replace worn notes anyway...AND they get rid of the notes that was forced on them by the CPA...Celebrate the culture and history of Iraq...On a near par to us dollar!

It will be interesting to watch Ebay as we get closer to 1/1/13.. Two things, demand for current dinar should decline lowering ask price ...Some may think they are getting dinar worth $0.86 per when really old stuff...Wide range of prices are a surprise to me...1000 dinar note for $6.???( thats $6k/M vs 1M for $750!!!!

Looking at the picture and all the dinar on EBay i'm sure there areat least 10T dinar outside of Iraq.. This some big "controlled leak" that the deputy director was talking about..

Let me see. Instead of paying for the whole 1M dinar I only need to make a 10%down payment and the dealer will HOLD the 1M with my name on it in his shoebox, I mean vault.. When the RV happens I can make the final payment and this dealer will gladly deliver the dinar.. Sorry, I dont trust them to even be in the country if that would happen.. But then if the RV doesnt happen 10% a month is gravy.

This is political maneuvering....When the RD happens certainly a number of Iraqi's wont like it and may get burned... They will vote for this guy !
