  1. Hey Theseus, this is one of those things that is "easy to say and hard to do"! I agree with you completely though! Thank you for your thoughts.
  2. If he thinks he can make another fortune on the deal, he will tell him whatever he thinks he needs to hear! I hear his son is looking for work...😉
  3. Hey PP, I thought it was me. The older I get, the younger everyone else looks!
  4. I am not sure that an American should be lecturing another country on "fair electoral competition"! Thank you Yota!
  5. Yendor, I think what you are saying is, "I hate it when people ask me to think, and then when I don't think what they think, they think I don't think!" 🤣
  6. Thank you LGD. I am also very aware of who I spend my money with. I pay most of my bills with a cash back credit card and then I take that cash back and invest it in crypto. It's really free money. I recently cancelled my Citibank credit card because of their donations to certain organizations. Although they have the best (in my opinion) cash back program, I went with another cash back card because of my beliefs. I believe God will honor that. I don't shop with A LOT of companies and I don't have cable. Main stream media does not flow into my house. I am not the type of guy who likes confrontation, so I may not correct people who don't agree with me, but I have had my concealed carry for over 10 years and I feel fairly confident about defending myself. I had a temper as a younger man, but God has helped me work on that. That's why I don't like confrontation. I know me and I know I can escalate things to a pretty serious level. I used to like a friendly fight, but now it's all guns and knives and weapons. I don't want that happening because someone else doesn't agree with my thoughts. We are not here to agree with each other. We are here in the USA, the greatest experiment ever conducted in the world. We are each supposed to be our own king or queen and run our lives as we see fit. And we all are supposed to have that right. Not to be robots, but to be individuals where we can do, have and be anything we want, as long as it doesn't interfere with our neighbor who has those same rights. When I see someone disrespecting our flag, or trying to take those freedoms away from us, I feel sorry for them. They don't want to be their own ruler, they want someone to rule over them. I don't think most of them even know what they are doing or what they stand for. I think it's our job to show them what freedom can look like. Some of us do it by talking with them and some of us do it by the way we live. Sorry about the long rant. I started typing and didn't realize how long this was. Thank you for your input here. I gather that you feel a lot the same way I do.
  7. Where do they think the electricity is going to come from to charge all those electric cars. Even if the cars are electric, right now most of our electricity still comes from fossil fuels. Electric cars are going to put more demand on the electricity grid. CA is already asking people to leave their electric cars at home to conserve electricity. SocalDinar, please take a pic of that truck with the GAS generator in the back when you get it. That will be funny right there.
  8. Smokey Mtn Dinar, I am very musical too. I love those old country songs from the 60's and 70's. I play some bass, my dad plays the guitar and my grandpa played the steel guitar. We don't get together as much as we used to, but we all love music. Merle Haggard is my absolute favorite. My wife wasn't musical either, but I have helped "get her some culture" since we have been married! She heard a song the other night and she knew what the song was before they started singing the words. She just looked at me and smiled! She knows that all she has to do to make me crazy is to take my music away.
  9. Hey LGD, I agree completely. So let me ask you a question. How do we do that? I am not trying to be a smart aleck. I am serious. Practically, day by day, how do we do that? I have several cryptos, I have silver, I have dinar, I have AMC, I am debt-free except for some rental houses, now what else should I do? I really don't feel led to get into politics. (Definition- poly, meaning many, and tics, blood sucking creatures!) What are you doing on a day to day basis to impress on them that the jig is up?
  10. Quick, someone tell me when Iraq's Independence Day is! Most of us don't know, just like the Iraqi people don't know when ours is. It's a 3-day weekend for some of us, not them! Thank you Ron, I always enjoy your posts. They give me a couple laughs to start my day!
  11. Don't you just hate those drunk bankers? I too, would rather deal with the sober ones! This is great news for Iraq. They have been burning this gas (money) for years. Now they are going to be able to use it for electricity in their country and they will be able to sell it to other countries for profit.
  12. I've said for years that math is not accounting and accounting is not math. Don't confuse the two!
  13. Hey LGD, remind her that since you two are married, "What's hers is hers and what's yours is hers". She'll be alright. 😉
  14. He meant on the back up camera on his truck...
  15. Thank you Socal Diner. We were in Palm Springs, CA 15 or 20 years ago and we went to some date farms out there. I was impressed. Things really do grow in the desert! I didn't even like dates until we went out there and tried several varieties. Now we almost always have a box of dates at the house. You know, I was being sarcastic about Iraq growing things. I have been on this ride long enough to GROW some sarcasm! Do you get it? See how I tied me growing and them growing?... Please don't groan. My wife says I just can't help myself! 😁
  16. What do they want them to do? Grow soybeans and corn in the desert? (Although I understand they do grow a lot of poppies!) I wonder if they count that income in their GDP?
  17. I think I will try this in my business. I'll make the deal, and then if I don't like the way it is going, I'll cancel the deal. If they throw me in jail, will someone on this forum bring me some cigarettes please? Oh, I forgot, I don't smoke! 😁 I'll keep y'all informed on how this goes for me. By the way, anyone on DV want to make a deal? 🤣🤣
  18. I bought it cause someone told me it was going to revalue by Friday. I forgot to ask them which Friday, because that was almost 10 years ago!
  19. Hey Laid Back, I'll bet if oil had gone down, they would have kept that contract in place! Can they legally cancel it simply because the price of oil went in their favor and created that surplus?
  20. I keep reading things that say Iraq can't be strong until they diversify their income. They say they get most of their income from oil, and they say that like it's a bad thing. I don't get that point. Of course Iraq gets most of their money from oil! That's what they have the most of! In fact, I believe they are the second largest oil producer in OPEC! Come on, man! If I was the second largest producer of any commodity and that commodity was one of the most sought-after products in the world, would you ding me because that's where most of my income came from? I hear all the environmentalist saying we need renewable energy and I agree, because one day I suppose we will run out of oil. The middle east has been producing oil now for about 100 years and they have more oil available now than they have ever had! They keep finding new oil pockets and they keep finding more efficient ways to get to that oil. And that scenario is happening in other countries as well. Can someone explain to me why they are being criticized for getting most of their money from "only oil"?
  21. The swamp is deep and wide. Thank you CL for your level-headedness in all this. You are always the voice of reason and I enjoy and appreciate your posts (although this post was very joyful).
  22. With comics, you know there is no payoff at the end. It's all about the story. With the dinar, we are all waiting for a payoff or we wouldn't be here. Unless y'all just like coming here to DV to torture yourself! 🤪
