  1. jmartin1145- Try not to stress or worry too much about 'the end of times'....it was just a year or so ago when many weee concerned about 'Rocket Man' creating a problem for many of us, but 'things have a way of working out' - all of humanity 'has protection' in unseen forms - thank God - peace~
  2. Floridian- thanks for your comments and inquiry regarding my post. I haven't read delta's comments, and am not sure if his statement is correct - I will try to locate, read and verify it- Jg1- I know you've been involved in this speculation a long time, and I don't disageee with your comment regarding the decimal points not going anywhere in past years same for you 3in1- (thanks to both of you for all of your contributions to this site by the way - much appreciated) The question I have is: do either of you recall when the previous time period of the appearance of the decimal point was? I can't recall specifically but I wouldn't be surprised if it was pre-isis (if that's the case, then it's hypothetically possible to to assume, perhaps - just perhaps -that the cbi was going to do something...and then Maliki...(fill in the blanks)) - again, the latter scenario is only a possible hypothesis... let's check facts- I'd like to know if the last time the 3 digits appeared after the decimal point appeared was pre-IBAN and pre-SWIFT codes; if that's the case then the appearance of the decimals may now carry more potential functionality - especially since they are showing up very close to the year-end accounting period. This current period of time reminds me of when I was in the fourth grade, ...while going to elementary school in a small New England town...we were assigned the task of learning about the value of stocks by reading the newspaper daily..., in any event, I can recall with absolute clarity that a few of us spent more time reading the sports pages - in early spring- and for several days straight we saw that the Red Sox were ahead of the Yankees (which was great if you were a Sox fan recovering from the two back to back seasons in which the Yankees won the World Series by beating the LA Sodgers ('77 and '78 I believe)....thanks to Bucky Dent and Reggie Jackson. After a few days of seeing that the Sox had the same division lead over the Yankees, excitement was lost - as all of us simultaneously realized that the season hadn't even started, and the Sox were ahead of the Yankees in the division standings for purely alphabetical reasons, since everyone in the division had a record of 0-0 (it's one of those learning experiences in life).., I share the latter sxenario because it's possible that despite the fact that the CBI shows 1190.000 dinar to the dollar, there's a chance an any moment that we may see that the 'the season has started' which would obviously be reflected in a rate change-
  3. Happy early birthday psdon - it's nice to see a fellow Capricorn. Although my birthday is a couple of weeks before yours, I have some catching up to do compared to you in other ways..... peace~
  4. There are certainly a lot of great comments from critical thinkers in this thread - thanks to everyone who posted. So, if I understand this article correctly, the 250 and 500 referenced in this article are new versions of currencies which have already been n existence. I couldn't tell for sure if the recent versions being replaced are both presently being used in the market. Regardless, the bottom line is that they (the old currency) )are presently being used minimally due to reasons of making change for higher valued currencies. As some have pointed out, there may not be a lot to be excited about - at the moment - but in my view, this might be a good sign of what's to come, especially since the newer notes probably have more secure features which would help minimize fraud and money laundering so currencies are exchanged for lengthier periods of time. The positive factual takeaway I get from this is, at least his article is not referring to the release of 100k notes or currencies of even greater amounts; which would certainly be less desirable. I like the timeliness of this article when I combine it from the news of late regarding the decimal places on the CBI website. The latter is a big deal no matter how you look at it. Combining the decimal points to the thousand's position, along with the re-release of the 250 and 500 gives me the impression that the 1's, 5's, 10's fils etc. are on their way - and hopefully soon. When I worked as a mutual fund accountant years ago, I was assigned the task of calculating the NAV (net asset value) number for some of Aetna's domestic mutual funds. The daily stress from the job felt equivalent to being pulled over by a cop - all day long. The pressure was due to the fact that our work had to be completed and ready to be published- by 5:40PM -every day - and the accuracy of our NAV calculatin had to be with-in 1/2 cent. Any error in the calculation greater than that counted as a pricing error. To minimize the chance of error, a minimum or 32 excel spreadsheets were needed to calculate an accurate number for the $100 million -$100 billion plus-sized mutual funds. The important part of all of this, is that our calculations went to a minimum of 5 decimal places - and the accuracy of all 5 decimal places had to be checked off and verified by 2 managers throughout the day - daily - before the NAV was submitted to publication in newspapers around the world. i suspect that there is a lot more going on behind the scenes with the combination of the 3 decimal places and the new.currncies mentioned above - and I am more than hopeful - that we may see this go international this month; if for nothing else, completing year end accounting analysis would be a lot simpler twhen compared to analyzing a new rate for a lengthier period of time (such as first quarter.)
  5. Thanks Yota, and Mary B, for posting these articles and links. It's nice to see that the CBI is 'drawing the line somewhere' and following through by holding banking institutions accountable to previously outlined standards. Hopefully it's indicative of a stronger and more consistent fight against money laundering and corruption - and a precursor to the removal of the auctions-
  6. King Bean - I am certain Trump will have a positive impact on anyplace he travels that hopes to have a long-term positive relationship with the U.S. On another note, that animation you posted looks strikingly similar to an older version of Johnny Quest. I doubt Bandit is still around, but maybe Haji is...
  7. Thanks very much for this post, Mary B- we appreciate the effort. Although the final details remain to be seen, one thing is for certain: the statement couldn't come from a better source. I am of the opinion that the implementation of the project is not far off.... Go RV!!!
  8. JoeB- thanks for sharing your eloquent description - very much! I agree with Synopsis - ' the post of posts' - here's a well-earned purple trophy- peace~
  9. Luigi, I notice you post many contradicting 'rumors' in the 'rumor section' and that you have done so for a long time. I commend you on your interest in the Dinar, but question the reason why you appear to post any and all types of comments by people who have no proven integrity or track record when it comes to their predictions regarding the Dinar since the statements made by those in the majority of your posts do not appear to be factually correct. From my view, it appears that you re-post any and all comments you find online regarding the Dinar regardless of the original author's integrity or authority of the subject. I state the latter because the vast majority of your posts contain comments made by 'less than reputable' people and because none of the statements made by the aforementioned have turned out to be correct. That being said, is their a reason why you post the numerous amount of 'rumors' you do, especially when you yourself 'warn' the reader that your post is 'not verified' and that they should 'opine'? i know you are capable of making intelligent comments and I am not attempting to 'bash' or be disrespectful to you. However,, in retrospect, it appears that you alone have personally posted a high percentage of all the rumors in the Rumor Section,. I don't think that it's a stretch to say that the quality of the majority of the posts you make in this section are consistently different when compared to posts made by other members in this section. As such, I personally think the mods should consider creating a section - a sub category if you will - for you to place your posts. i am aware that many people view rumors as humor and as a place where 'anything goes' and that others may view your posts as warnings to 'newbies' so as to warn them of the various scams that are out there. However, there are also those who have a view along the lines of 'enough already'....or 'enough is enough.' I appreciate any insight you can provide as to the reason why you consistently post factually incorrect or inconsistent posts, and appreciate your response very much. (I in no way am trying to be disrespectful to Luigi or to those who enjoy reading his posts. As I said, I know there are many who view the posts in the rumors section as humor, but I also believe that are many who take all of the posts in this section more seriously)
  10. https://dinarvets.com/forums/index.php?/topic/259860-gcr-rvusd-is-now-gold-backed-ready/&do=findComment&comment=1941745 "Luigi should check his facts before he brings his news." Agreed.
  11. Good morning Yota and DV. Thanks for the interesting and intriguing posts. I can't recall the ICB issuing statements on foreign currency to the extent that this one does. "The central bank calls on all banks to inform their employees who are working in the field of foreign exchange..." This really spells international to me... Go RV!!!
  12. Thanks to everyone who posted and commented on this article, which from my perspective contains a historic recap regarding Iraq's currency standards and a signal of what's to come. I'm in agreement with Laid Back - a 1:1 ratio is quite possible and looking more probable as time progresses. The radio will not only minimize the learning curve for the citizens of Iraq but it would also be extremely convenient for the international community investing in and working with Iraq. There was a post a week or so ago that discussed Islamic accounting standards - which I suspect are going to be quite similar to GAAP - Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, which would be a more than convenient reason for Iraq to go 1:1.
  13. Thanks very much for this post, Pitcher- and for all your previous ones and supporting supporting comments. I wonder what they will chat about...
  14. jg1, I like your comment regarding the author who posted this 'rumor.' I think there should be a separate section on DV for Luigi'a less-than-garbage quality-posts, not because I condone his '"rumors" but rather to separate his lower quality ones like the one made above from others of a more honest and genuine nature. What baffles me are the contradicting comments he makes to his own posts, which suggests little thought or critical thinking was made beforehand, and that the post may have been made instead for attention-seeking purposes. I am familiar with DV's policies, and have read statements from Mods stating there is a benefit to his posts as others can learn from the debate that follows his less than garbage-quality posts (not all of his posts are as bad as the one above but the overwhelming majority certainly are) I personally think it would be better to isolate what are known or assumed to be intentional and inaccurate posts by placing them in an area that is separate from those that are more genuine. Regarding Luigi's high number of positive likes, I think Thugs said it best about 10 months ago when he reminded us that Luigi used to have a staggeringly high amount of reds, which all went away one day from a form from of ruby welfare (I paraphrased Thugs' original comment which was much funnier)
  15. What a glorious moment! I knew this article must have been a good one when it had 27 replies within 7 hours. I am extremely pleased to see the Iraqi justiicial system has finally sustained enough inertia to support the pursuit of justice for everyone in Iraq - and beyond - who have suffered at the hand of this fiend-
  16. blueskyline- Thank you very much for taking the time to locate and post this article and link, which is just one of several as of late that expresses the optimistic tone of,short term economic recovery coupled with long-term expansion. I am confident that the trend of these positive articles and viewpoints are being publicized for strategic reasons that will soon unfold~
  17. Thanks Yota- much appreciated. I hope all is well with you. Presence
  18. Pitcher -i'my very sorry to hear about the loss of your uncle. I'm pretty certain he was one of a total of 343 first responders lost on that that - a staggering number. Star-thanks for your post in this and other threads - I enjoy reading your comments (and everyone else's in this thread for that matter -with the exception of the author who started this thread.) Nothing on my generation ('68) compares to the events I experienced on that day. I know exactly where I was when I learned of the tragic news. Perhaps the author who started this thread is simply a child as they may not have been alive in September '01. Regardless, youth is not an excuse. It is an opportunity to learn from prior incorrect the or poor choices by not continuing to repeat them...
  19. Thanks for the summation jeepguy- much appreciated. I've got my a rare pounding headache and dreaded the thought of making it worse...
  20. Thanks, Pitcher - I appreciate you writing your comments regarding this particular post. Presence~
  21. Thanks for your post, blueskyline. I enjoyed reading it - along with many others of yours over the years. This is just one of many recent posts of equal value that are being released nearly simultaneously, which is a great sign~
  22. Good evening Yota691, and all of DV. Thank you for posting this article, Yota, along with all the other ones - as well as your respective comments over the yesrs I've learned a lot from your efforts.... 10 YEARS LATER - I like the positive words and emphasis in your statement. I have always tried tried to take an optimistic approach to this investment (and life in general...)..which is sometimes challenging to do; not because of the IQD, itself, but rather because of the people managing it. The latter viewpoint is similar to that which humans had on the greatest racehorse to ever walk the Earth: Secretariat - who would've probably won every race he participated in were it not for human influence. Not to get off-track (no pun intended....)) The best thing of rhis, article is juat aa good as the words it contains....I certaibly hope this tuens into a,memorable week -and positicely so - for all of us patient investors, along with ev eryone in need.... Go RV! !!
  23. Thanks for your feedback, Botzwana. I appreciate your input and enjoy reading your comments and posts as well. Things as of late, feel.unusually slow at times, and then updates such as the one in this thread come out. To me it feels as if the CBI is intentionally holding back info.for time necessity- against masses who are applying energy and pressure from an opoosite direction - in a manner that's beginning to feel like the starting line of the New York or Boston marathons. At some point 'soon' the CBI won't be able to or even need to keep up the resistance - and that will truly be a glorious moment!
  24. This feels like an epic post. The way I read it, this article details a clear and precise outline for implementing international standards of the IQD - every step of the way. I've seen a lot of references to articles regarding 'educating the masses,' and this post 'almost' fits that description perfectly.... The information contained in the first half of this article, combined with the reference to and use of the words 'brief summary' in the second half just might be indicative that everything might actually be completed behind the scene so as to completely remove the artificially imposed low rate of the IQD. I state the latter not only because of the late public references to September 5th, but because of all the progress and inertia that's been building (with the exception of the elections) over the last 18 months. Regardless of that fact that this is Iraq, (and anything can happen) a tremendous amount of effort and progress such as the implementation of SWIFT codes, EFT, the ISX, and even last week's post regarding the US Treasury, all point to Iraq's ability and readiness to participate fiinancially at a global level - with strict adherence to international standards of accounting, auditing, and finance. I am rrally eager to see what follows....
