Because this his is such a rare event in 'human terms' and one that takes place in a part of the non- western world, I am unfamiliar with what you apparently seem to know or imply that you know in regards to the 'RV'. This is very strong and clear language by Abadi, which he must have consciously wanted to reach as many people as possible, hence the tweet. I like the timing of this article as much as the content t itself- which is a common theme as of late. Between a certain international oil company re-starting work after a 2-year break, and other recent 'developments' as of late, we just might see this thing hit - and soon - which is fine by me! There's more than enough to go around, financially speaking, without the need for corruption, so hopefully this is finally it! Go RV!!!

Agreed LB- that would simplify all the forward effort and instantly eliminate the financial duress, squabble, and distrust between the Kurds and Baghdad. Abadi would have many fewer distractions with the instantaneous increase in assets and respect of his country countryman and would win the election with ease- I hope we are watching the beginning of this historic event now- Go RV!!!

Agreed. RIP DAZ, and our prayers go out to your family. I had an anaphylactic response in 2006 following an intervertebral steroid injection (adjacent to my spinal cord) at a pain clinic located insise a hospital. I was very fortunate to be in the right place when that occurred and am sorry to hear that DAZ was not.

It's hard to speculate, but I like the timing of this financial disclosure very much. At a minimum it shows that Iraq has a good handle on their financial records and current accounting- hopefully there are other 'subtle' reasons for the timing of this article. Go RV!!!

Crane, forensic accounting is getting more efficient and precise with technological advances. Maliki isn't going to get away with his theft, and I am confident the majority of the whereabouts of the funds originally intended for the Iraqi citizens will located and put back in the hands of the Iraqi citizens. I can not read Arabic, but I can certainly read the looks on the faces of the citizens protesting against Maliki, and the eventual return of the temporarily diverted funds will be awesome for our investment!

I am reluctant to chime in,and don't mean to veer off-topic, but one fact you got right Barb, is that Trump is definitely an American. I recall watching a video last year - which I downloaded from YouTube years earlier, and before it was removed, that shows Obama, while speaking in front of a group of about 30 people outside in a very public area, and very early on in his run for president, stating: "...this election is different. I am from Kenya"... He spoke those words early on in his bid for president and before he was aware of the predicament he created by stating them. He obviously didn't know the facts about citizenship and as they pertain to running for the highest office, and the reason he wasn't aware of the predicament is because he wasn't raised in America. Like I said, I have the video clip. It reminds me of a word he mispronounced years later. While reading a TelePrompt, he mistakenly pronounced the 's' in the word 'corpsman', which as we know, is silent. He certainly would have pronounced the word correctly had he been raised here. So everything being equal, if you can find evidence of Trump being in bed etc. then please direct me to it, as I am apparently misinformed as it's my understanding that there isn't a link between Trump and Putin. And, everything else being equal, Trump is definitely a true American and has the citizenship to prove it. (I state the latter despite the fact that I admittedly voted for Obama during his first election. I felt duped and betrayed as his presidency progressed, and still do) peace~

Yota691, Thank you very much for posting this article, and thanks to everyon who followed with their opinions as to what this really means. I certainly can't recollect a factual post like this, historically, speaking. I certainly like timing of it as it may be showing 'The Kurds' Hand', prior to September 25th. I recall a post a week or two in which Delta stated that new notes had been printed since May. I will look for the link but the amount for printing was I believe $5Mm. The latter number isn't as important itself so much as the timing of the post. If the LD's were printed, it could certainly be possible that the Kurds are finally getting along with Baghdad. I speculate that also because this post comes after Mattis' recent visit which I believe was done to help prevent the referendum, so we might very much be watching this RV unfold now, with a rate to follow shortly as it would already have to be in place for the latter effort and activities to be taking place.

I couldn't imagine anything worse than losing your life-long assets (or even a portion of them) in this manner. Makes me think back to a scene in the movie 'It's A Wonderful Life.' Well, the good news is that at least clients used to have trust in the banks - and with all the international pressure, IT investment, new auditing standards and pressure on corruption (not to mention the fact that oil will definitely go up again one day), the banking industry in Iraq will soon be on par with the rest of the industrialized World. The depositors insurance laws and acts should help immensely.

Here's a thought - three months ago the CBI 'drew the line financially speaking' in regards to the losses they sustained from Isis and 'others' and the CBI timed it to wrap up with the victory in Mosul since the majority of any losses would, as of that date, be accounted for. The numbers in this thread certainly seem to start from that point on- which I take as 'real world accounting'. The CBI will eventually show a loss at some point in the future (retroactively) to cover the dinar stolen by Dasholes snd 'others.' It looks really clear what the CBI did and is still doing from that perspective (however, it's 'just a thought - that I lhappen to like very much!)

Floridian, I understand why you raised the point you did. There are many times where Frank quotes Delta after the fact and says "we said this would happen" x-number of days ago. Frank also has a way of extrapolating without fact - and quite far and often. I recall a post of his (or comment that was at least given credit to him) a few years ago in which he stated that Maliki was going to Washington to visit Obama to rquest money for a squadron of fighters, and that it was a sign that the RV would take place as soon as Maliki got back to Iraq. It also seems that Frank likes to use the letters 'IOO' to 'Cover his 'A'. In regards to the question regarding currency expenses, I would think that this has to be clearly explained somewhere in the CBI - especially now that Deloitte and Touche are doing accounting and auditing in Iraq. Essentially, there should be a ledger/account number and a description of the expense somewhere in the accounting records. If it's simply an issue of currency maintenance- out with the old and in with the new- then the description and expenses should already be explained in the accounting from prior years. (The complicating fact however proteins to the newness of the audit process and all of the corruption from prior years so the account may not be there despite the fact that it should be.) I don't personally know Delta or Frank, or anyone else for that matter in the spectrum of 'gurus'. Feel free to educate the masses Thugs, as you seem to have vast knowledge of the latter players. From what I recall, it seems like Delta's comments and predictions over the past 12-18 months have been more accurate than in previous times. I recall Frank saying many times 'we told you so x- number of days, weeks, or months ago that this would happen - and eventually by Frank's interpretation it does happen (it being the eventual unfolding of fact that he retrospectIively predicted.) but I don't usually see Delta using that same type of language. For whatever reason, I am more inclined to believe that Delta (or someone he knows) now has legitimate knowledge compared to prior years, and my male intuition tells me that Delta's more recent statements are more accurate than ones he made years ago. I try to take an optimistic and patient view toward the Dinar,, so if anyone has more knowledge about the legitimacy of Delta's statements then please let me know. Hopefully the CBI removes the artificially low rate imposed by sanctions against the IQD in the coming days, weeks or hours so that we can all move on to more productive aspects pertaining to this exotic currency speculation.

This is a great post. It reminds me of one of the final scenes in the movie 'ThecUntouchables' - the story of Elliott Ness and how he got Capone...it's a big deal to stop the corruption and payoffs in the courts- to punish the thieves as LB said, but especially to signal that Iraq is definitely changing its ways - big time - for the better.
