  1. They've got so many rumors flying around. My advice, just wait. To me, Iraq HAS to have an internationally tradeable currency. It has to do something sooner or later. Hopefully we'll be the ones smiling at the end.
  2. I pray that God puts a hedge of protection around him, and to bring him back safely.
  3. I love to hug. But I'm currently offshore on an oil platform with nothing but guys....definitely not gonna do any hugging out here. LOL
  4. Good luck Moose. It's been over 2 years for me. My success was that I didn't want to cheat, and I didn't want to smoke at all. I figured if I would get hit by a train, it wasn't the caboose that would kill me. One day at a time dude, you can do it !!! GO RV !!!
  5. I've been to Marina Mall many times, actually this was in a suburb of Kuwait City, called Fahaheel. They have many currency exchanges there, it was one that was by the Bazarre, just by the traffic circle, if you're familiar with that area. I'd much rather shop there than Kuwait City any day.
  6. Hopefully that is a trend..........and it'll tell him something early. Time for a change............
  7. I'm stuck in prison with Spongebob......... I'll be in the mental ward soon !!!
  8. There is one thing that happened that clicked in my mind. I was in Kuwait in 2004 working as a government contractor. I had went to Kuwait City to check out the deals on gold and jewelry. I went to a currency exchange with a friend, as he was going to buy some Iraqi Dinar. We had to wait for a while because there was a Kuwaiti citizen that was in front of us that had purchased a briefcase full of Iraqi Dinar. He must have bought at least 10 or 20 million IQD. That was when I decided to invest in the Iraqi Dinar. I figured if I didn't buy it and it would RV...I would freak out. If it didn't RV, then I can always get at least my intial investment back, plus some.
  9. I also wish they would have a transcript. I'm at work for the next 5 days and that is all blocked on the company internet.
  10. I see what you're talking about and I do agree. I believe though as many threats that Iran has made against Israel, if they do develop a bomb then Israel is going to consider that a serious threat and will start a war with Iran. Although Israel is small, they are very powerful, and their soldiers are all top notch. Iran will be no match for Israel if that starts....but if it is only those two. Then you know Russia and China is going to back Iran, and the US, Great Brittain and Austrailia are going to back Israel...there is starts again.
  11. Moderator needs to take out the name of a site after question #8.
  12. I disagree. Think about it. With all the former veterans, the current soldiers, marines, sailors, and air force that are based here in the US, plus the vast number of police, then add the number of the hunters and "good ole boys"...not to mention armed women, it would be extremely stupid for any country to attack the US mainland, especially by invasion. The main reason why Japan didn't do that in World War II is because they said that if they attack the US, there will be an American with a weapon behind every blade of grass. Many, many Americans believe in their 2nd Amendment rights (as do I) and many of them have stock piles of weapons and ammunition. Our own citizens will kick a country's butt if they would attack, not counting the military.
  13. Well, Iraq will need a currency that has some worth so it can be traded internationally. Now if many Iraqi's get rich, which I don't believe is the scenerio, that won't hurt Iraq at all. Many Iraqi's have only used the dollar, and consider their own currency as useless at the present time. It makes sense for them to use the dollar, it's easier. So I don't believe many Iraqis will have dinar that are saved up. Too many of them are way below the poverty line and they would have used what they had for their necessities. Some of the richer Iraqis may have some IQD saved up for themselves. Even if they would have a boom of millionaires in Iraq...then that to me would have to help boost their economy at least somewhat with them buying stuff and building houses, and etc. So logically, it does make sense to me for the IQD to RV. GO RV !!!
  14. Good Post K98: @ Pattyangel: I served as a contract worker in Kuwait for 2 years and Iraq for 3 years. So I know what your hubby is going through. I'll keep him in my prayer time. It is a good feeling to have served our troops though. Have a good day.
  15. Now I do agree with you on that. They do need to get out of their 12th century way of thinking. They also need to start to do things for themselves instead of waiting for someone to do it for them. Thanks for the posts.
  16. I don't mind reading the pumpers BS. It's actually entertainment for me.
  17. I disagree. Iraq is a poor country due to the dictatorship of Saddam, then the war and now all the corruption. Iraq is literally floating on oil and gas reserves, not counting all the other natural resouces they have. There's lots of potential for Iraq...it's basically up to them to get their own ducks in a row, and start actually doing the work instead of waiting on someone else to do it for them.
  18. Good luck girl. It's been over 2 years for me and I'm not regretting it. Plus it'll save you a lot of money too!!!
  19. He just opened himself up for car bombs aka vbieds.....not good to do that, especially in that country.
  20. This isn't the worst thing I've done, but it's kinda funny. We were working emergency medical services based out of a hospital. They had this old lady registered nurse that worked the night shift that absolutely hated us. I couldn't understand reasons for such dislike, but she always would tell us off or try to embarrass us in front of patients all the time. After many, many complaints and nothing being done, we decided to take matters in our own hands. This old RN had a set schedule. Every night between 11:30 and 11:40 she would eat. Then every night at around 10 minutes past midnight she would go use the restroom. You could almost set your clock by her. So at around 11:30, we snuck inside of the nurses restroom that she uses all the time. We got some Saran Wrap and stretched it tight across the toilet. Then we snipped a ketchup and a mustard pack, and gently placed them under the feet of the toilet seat. This all took maybe 5 minutes to do and we got out of there and went to our regular assigned area. It couldn't have gone better. When that old RN got to the bathroom, she plopped her self down on the seat which caused the ketchup and mustard packs to squirt their contents, all over the inside of her legs and the inside of her white pants. She didn't really notice that until she started to urinate, and the Saran Wrap that we had stretched tightly across the toilet did its job. It caused her urine to run down the sides of the toilet, also getting her pants all wet..then that is when she noticed the mustard and ketchup. As you can imagine she was livid. And knowing her, the first person she blamed this on was us...she even called the Administrator that night. That next morning, everyone played stupid as we were called onto the carpet one by one to give our accounts of where we were the previous night at specific times. They even called in the nurses and the nurse's aides and talked with them. One of them told the administrator that although she didn't do it, she was glad that it happened to that old RN. He asked her to explain more, so she said, no one can talk to this lady without her saying something back that was derogatory or just plain smart aleck. The following day they called in the old RN and she even got smart with the administrator. She didn't last too much longer after that, as they wound up terminating her employment with us. I didn't like the idea that someone lost their job over this, but it was sure nice not to have her around any longer.
  21. I am for sure no financial expert, especially when it comes to a country's finances. But my understanding is that Iraq has hundreds of billions of dollars that are in accounts in other countries. Also I recently read that Iraq's economy is booming, with many companies just itching to do business with them. Although they may be 10 billion in the red right now, it is projected that they'll be 100 billion in the black by 2020. As you know, Iraq is literally floating on oil, plus they have their other natural resources. So all in all, there would be no reason why when they RV, there shouldn't be a good return for us all. GO RV !!!
  22. I can understand about when a kid raises his hand to you and says, "whatever"....that would drive me crazy. What really gets my goat is when someone asks me medical advice and someone with NO medical training advises them otherwise, or disagrees with me, or even worse, interferes with my patient care on a medical call. It really gets to me, and I wind up getting them upset by asking them, "what medical school did you go to? or where did you get your training from?".
  23. I agree Smee...in the small town where I live, there are only 2 that have invested in the IQD....me and another guy...and that is only because we were contractors in Middle East. I've told several other people, but they weren't interested at all. Oh well..... GO RV !!!
