  1. Hard to feel to sorry for him when so many people did not or do not get bonuses...greedy dirt bag
  2. Can't stand Joan Rivers. Don't care what she has to say. As far as "coming out" for Obama, Hillarious, Eric or Lindsay, why? Everyone has their suspicions but why does everyone have to know? I don't care who is ***, bi or hetro. I don't care what people do in their relationships. I don't go around telling everyone I am straight and what sort of life my husband and I share. Why do I have to know that someone prefers the same sex or even both sexes? There are plenty of people I would assume to be *** but I really don't want them telling me straight out. I have a friend who has never said he was *** but introduced me to his partner. Yup, then I knew but they didn't make a big deal about it. Just like I don't make a big deal about it when I introduce my husband.
  3. "flatulence under the umbrella" Yup...that sounds like something Maliki would do
  4. Williston ND Wal-Mart is offering cashiers $17.40 an hour and it goes up from there. Of course there is not any place to live in Williston at this time but that would be a good wage for someone who has a house in the area and needs a job not in the oil fields
  5. Exactly Nelg. There were 50,000 Iraqi troops against 8,000 insurgents. (Numbers may be off but they are pretty close to the huge difference in manpower) and the Iraqi troops walked?? The only thing that makes sense is their orders were not to engage. There is a political agenda.
  6. Let it be so. I watch the news and can't even describe how terrible I feel for the civilians who are just trying to live without being caught up in politics and war. What a horrible horrible situation.
  7. Not sure why these articles deserved a neg but I fixed it. Thanks for bringing them over.
  8. He did get into politics here in the great state of Illinois where ending up in jail seems to be the norm
  9. Thank you Maggie. I tried not to think of all the danger he was in while there (he is a Calvary Scout ) but once he was back home on American soil...the tears would not stop flowing. So very thankful he made it back safely. His next deployment will be Korea and I am not sure that is much better.
  10. "Deserted during a time of war" is that an accurate statement or an opinion piece? Has it been determined without any shadow of a doubt that he deserted? Do we know for certain why he was outside of the safety of his base with only water and a compass? I find it highly distasteful that people have tried and convicted him in social media because of circumstances, some of which he perpetrated by leaving base, but I am pretty sure that being in Afghanistan with enemy combatants I would take my rifle...deserting or not. If he is found to be a deserter then bring on the outrage and the punishment. But until that may happen, he is an American Soldier who served his country under very difficult conditions and he deserves our support.
  11. Thank you for so eloquently stating what needs to be verbalized. This country has become so polarized that as long as the congressman states something that is against the other party...it is acceptable and considered gospel. Never mind the truth. Never mind the disservice it is providing to our great nation and especially to our military.
  12. What is the difference between negotiating with terrorists and prisoner exchange? IMO there is a big difference. Welcome home Sgt Bergdahl. As a mother with a son just back from Afghanistan I can only Thank God each and every day that my son is home safely. I cannot imagine the absolute Hell his parents went through. I understand that his father immersed himself in the Taliban "life" so that he could try to avoid any and all mistakes when speaking to or about the Taliban to try to keep his son safe. True?? I don't know but I prefer to wait until all the facts come out rather than condemn anyone for doing something/anything to make sure their son stays alive while captured.
  13. Nothing to really forgive Maggie123. I truly enjoy your posts and although sometimes I am not 100% behind you I do understand your passion and your desire for a better America and a better world. Your posts generally bring humanity to the situations you are posting about and I admire that. All is good here as long as all is good there
  14. Being as I am not you and you don't know me....you can not make a general statement that I do not care as much about my neighbors as you might care about yours. Your idea of caring may be different than mine and you may show your caring in a different way. BUT I do take offense at the insinuation that I do not care about my friends and their neighbors. Making statements like you have to me doesn't make you an enemy but it certainly colors all the things that you post for now on. And to be perfectly clear I was agreeing with you from the beginning.
  15. I am really wanting just a simple Ruger SR22. I have a 30-06 but would really like something small
  16. EXCUSE ME? What words exactly did I use that gave you the impression that I did not care? I stated I do not agree with the wording in the article. Not that I disagreed with the content and the reason. I have seen the destruction in Pembina, I know what the leakage does. I CARE completely and empathize with my friends who are neighbors to the farmers whose land was subjected to the leak. They learned that just because the money was good, doesn't mean the end result was good. And a hard lesson it was. I agree 100% that the Lakota should refuse the oil company passage over their land. Couldn't have said it any better. My condolences for your loss. Lung cancer is a terrible thing. My BIL died from lung cancer 10 years ago and it was the hardest thing I have ever seen.
  17. I always amazes me how studies and research on the same thing can have different results. Such as the studies regarding a glass of wine per day. One study states it is heart healthy and the next study states it increases the risk of some types of cancer. One good, one bad. Now people are going to believe the study they choose to that closely aligns with their thinking. That being said. I think the Lakota have every right to decide not to allow a pipeline to cross their lands. That is a right provided to them from the federal government and as long as the tribe is in agreement then they should be allowed to object. I don't agree with the wording in the article. That is close to fear mongering and all that does is get a bunch of people riled up without having any substance to refer to. However, I do have friends who live close to the Pembina leak and that farm land is going to be completely worthless for decades.
  18. No big surprise here. Adam commented that he expected Maliki to get back in. I thought it was odd but I have learned to trust Adam's instinct and intel
  19. I saw this earlier on Facebook and the smaller photo really did look like fried chicken pieces. Cute little guys I am guessing Labradoodles or Goldendoodles?
  20. Baiting is wrong...however people should learn at a very young age that unless something is given to you by the owner you do not go onto someone else's property no matter how enticing it may look. My neighbors leave their garage door up all the time....usually about 18 hours a day. Even if they had money spread all over the floor in the garage my kids would not walk in there and take any. They have been taught respect for other peoples things. Sometimes I get frustrated when my kids are following the rules and other parents are letting their kids do things that are blatantly wrong...but it's a teaching moment for the kids and they learn that just because others are doing it doesn't make it right. Rules are rules just like sin is sin....you can't pick and choose which ones you want to follow. I don't blame the guy for having alarms in his garage if he had been robbed 3 times before...however, shooting without knowing if the kid was armed shows lack of control and that sort of person should not have a firearm. Being scared or being angry just never mixes with firearms. Firearms are for protection, for hunting and in some cases simply for collecting....but this person may have let his fear and his anger get the better of him.
  21. Election time brings about more news coverage for the bombings and the media likes to link them to the election process. There are bombings and killings in Iraq on a daily basis that do not get media coverage. It's been the same for many years. The factions just do not know how to live in peace and accept each others differences. They seem to believe that blowing up the other is the way to dominate...been going on for thousands of years, can't believe it will change any time soon.
