  1. Not true plain and simple. "My boots are on the ground."
  2. This was posted by a friend in another forum. It is a translation of the speech given by Dr.Abdel Bassit Turki Saeed, that has been misconstrued by the guru's as an "RV' speech. Not so much. Again everything is pending a "translation" but IMO this is pretty accurate. http://goingglobaleastmeetswest.blogspot.ca/2013/01/translation-by-abby-governor-of-central.html TUESDAY, JANUARY 29, 2013 TRANSLATION BY ABBY .. Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq; Dr Abdel Bassit Turki Saeed speaking January 12th 2013 at the Union of Arab banks conference in Baghdad ... Also, Note: Lakehouse, sometimes I feel bad after I translate something because someone else has already put their false spin on it. I went back and read the email you sent me and I can't help but wonder why someone would put those points out there. He barely mentions the currency, much less a changing of the currency. The speech is only positive in that it outlines the steps the cbi has taken towards progress. I guess it's a little general and vague, but he definitely doesn't spell out the points mentioned. I guess if someone tries to find a hidden meaning out there they can, but I think someone is trying to mislead people. I'm sorry to all, but the translation I sent you is verbatim what he said. I paused the video after every sentence and wrote it down, then went over it another two times to make sure I didn't miss anything. As much as I wish it was, it's not an RV based speech. I'm still hopeful this will change, especially based on Phoenix's latest intel reports. Sorry again. Lots of love, Abby January 21, 2013 Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq; Dr Abdel Bassit Turki Saeed speaking January 12th 2013 at the Union of Arab banks conference in Baghdad. The governor explained current changes in banking law in Iraq and the monetary prevailing situation. (check back for translation)Hi Lakehouse .. From Abby ... This is basically word for word what he said. I didn't hear number 4 directly, but it was implied. In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate: The brother, First Deputy of the Union of Arab Banks, Dr. Qusay Al-suhail, guests of the country of Iraq, attendees, bankers. Good morning. It pleases me that the CBI participates with the colleagues of the Union of Arab Banks through this forum of Baghdad's economic and banking sector. Baghdad, which is used to being the Arab embodiment of all which is good and unifies, and which is expected to increase in the coming days, insuring a side of cooperation and development at the level of the Arab economic policies and advanced banking industries, bringing back the area's placement in the management of its resources, at least at the regional level. <a name="more"> It is not a secret that there is a weakness in the economic diversity in Iraq, and its dependence on a main supply which is oil, and which reflects the economic specifications. Despite this economic infrastructure which we have inherited, at this time it presents a unique opportunity to create economic change and speed up development. This is in comparison to developing economies, especially the Iraqi economy, enrichment in human resources, materialism, and other economic areas. We identified significant sources in Iraq which could have accomplished this earlier, and changed the social and economic reality on many fronts, had it been used in the right form. Hence, we look to preserve these resources and prevent their loss. This is not only due to our legal and managerial responsibilities, as well as the trust placed in us, but also due to the fact that this is an opportunity for the growth, prosperity and development for our future generations. Since 2003, the CBI has taken a number of steps and measures, restlessly balancing between the traditional approach towards conservative monetary policy and between the possible economic consequences of this one sided policy. Thus, it is the return of the traditional policy to prevent the distortion of this policy, and to promote economic stability. The CBI has an independent regulatory authority responsible for the overseeing of the banking sector. It continuously strives to promote the legal environment, creating more productivity in the banking sector. There is a development of the stable banking organizations, and the overseeing and development of the services of the bank, including the increase of electronic services in its various forms, globally available, and a plan to increase the banking work force to increase one bank for every 40,000 individuals in Iraq. My banking colleagues: We recognize that the opportunities and roles in the sector are limited. And at this time the returns and profits are declining. However, it is unacceptable that our revenue sources and our actual investments, continue to compete with the currency. We have adopted an exclusive law of the reserves at 15%. 10% is kept by the CBI, and 5% is kept at the bank itself, allowing for larger investment opportunities for the bank. The economic management in Iraq is based on a documented constitution geared towards the market economy. In a country where the main resource for a foreign currency is the overall economic activity, here the responsibility to maintain this currency falls on the central bank while the true sources of income insure this. From here, the role of the central bank continues. Even in the past three months, it strives to protect this currency for economic activities through the banking sector, to preserve the validity of the procession towards the market economy. This is done keeping within the legal realm of transactions. There has also been an activation of regulatory tools, as well as coordination with the authorities placed to combat money laundering. There is also cooperation with the border control, including the entrance from the province of Kurdistan. This approach complies with increased economic freedom, as well as the insurance of the safety of our private banks. There is also a commitment to support the work of these banks in expanding their boundaries from national to Arab to global. Therefore, we are very serious in continuously striving to build a safe economic and banking future, and to achieve the reality of absolute discretion in spending money in the proper way, maintaining security. We work from this platform, which resolves sensitive issues in the activities of the banking and economic sector, in order to succeed in providing practical recommendations to develop performance to serve our society and nation. I would like to thank all of our research colleagues, who have researched, communicated and presented. In conclusion, I thank our colleagues at the Union of Arab Banks, the Global Bank and the Iraqi Banks, for their efforts, and we hope for increased communication, because nothing scratches your skin like your nail. (This is just a saying which implies that they are one through their common goals, etc.) It is a priority to start building together without waiting for tomorrow. We must build this starting now. Those who do the weight of an atom will see wealth. (Meaning even those who do a little will see blessings) And peace be upon you, as well as God's mercy and blessings.

  4. I gave him 40 bucks he gave me back a 10,000 a 5,000 and three of these 50's.
  5. I know they are not new, point is they shouldn't be on the street at a valueless amount...hence "I dunno what is up"...
  6. Went to lunch today at my usual Iraqi spot in the green zone, 23 dollar lunch paid with dollars received this guy as part of my change. Headed to the embassy tomorrow to use the atm and verify any sort of exchange rate change...merchant gave me the deer in the headlights look when I asked him what the exchange rate was..I think it was more of what? Do you think I am ripping you off? look than anything else. dinar.pdf
  7. Visa issues and only visa issues sorry folks, just the truth. That is the only reason "contractors" are having issues getting in or out. Nuff said !
  8. I am here In Baghdad, near the embassy, the parade or celebration was at the tomb of the unknown soldier, well the coliseum right next to it, there was honking and celebrating and a military show put on, and they did start celebrating on the 31st through yesterday. As was most of the planet for a new year to come. No rv announced. so just chillllllllllll.
  9. I guess we know why he is No LONGER Auditing for the great state of California...
  10. It has not happened yet. If it had then the Iraqi Toyota dealer in Baghdad whom is repairing our armored up land cruiser does not know about it, nor the Caterpillar dealer whom we spend a "lot" of money with weekly. Also I suppose the little man vendor where I ate lunch today had no idea either as I gave him 20 dollars for lunch he gave me back 10,000 dinar. If they do I guess I have been duped as has all the other American, Australin, British, Indian, Kuwati, and Italian corporations still working here on a daily basis whom also ate lunch in the very same spot. People are thinking way to much. If in doubt get you're happy rear end on a plane and come see for yourself. You can get a visa for 80 usd, call a local hotel to pick you up and cruise on down to downtown Baghdad and see for yourself. If you were invested in cotton wouldn't you go see and visually check on you're investment? Well come on over then. Grow a set, and come check on you're investment. Are there conspiracies? Of course there are. Is one of them the rv has occurred but cannot be seen because the USA and NSA are blocking it from the internet? NO and that is fact. Now it is interesting that Facebook/ Google/Yahoo tracks you're every move on the internet and in turn, offers you and you're contacts advertisements based on you're search history. I spend a lot of my free time on Dinar sights after logging into Facebook and low and behold no sales advertisements coming my way with the topic of Dinar. I do not doubt a lot of things get censored, but an actual RV/RI/RD based on a worldwide economic system is not going to be one of them. IMO. You put way to much credence in things like Echelon and total control. You are thinking that this govt. of ours is so good at what they do, that they could pull over a total blackout of a financial event. I don't doubt it could be done, but it could not be done by the United States govt. Our govt. sold it's soul to the corporation many years ago my friend. Do not look to see what gov is doing you better look and see what corporations are doing. Our govt. can merely throw a switch to shut it down. The corporations have the proprietary infrastructure. "boot on the ground".
  11. the urge lasted for about 5 minutes. I am over it..lol. I am going diving..

  14. Now that I have some gin in me, wouldn't it be sweet to be able to pump the pumpers? anyone have any thoughts? let's do it I say! If only we could do it and have it not effect the wee young ones..I have watched so many good folk get tore up by their crap reports, I realize each of us are our own persons and make our own decisions, but at some point some of us are destined to stick up for the little guy, after all isn't that what our country preaches? Yet we all sit here and let the pumpers get away with this over and over..we need a plan b fellas...
  15. it is currently 1700 Dubai time, just spent two days traveling from Balad Iraq to camp liberty, bought dinar at 1170 rate at two different banks in Iraq. Green zone and on liberty, had no issues with customs and we were well searched, as a matter of fact my dinar was in an old envelope sitting next to my laptop, going through the airport and the security dude says , "you still buying this crap?" in a arabic accent of course, I chuckled ..and pressed on. I hit Dubai today at 1345 approx. went straight to the exchange, rate still the same 1170 and they aren't buyin it. No winks no woo hoos nada nuthin..Then to hsbc, same story. So now I am at the grand hyatt getting ready to tie one on and get back to the states for some r and r..Not saying it isn't gonna go, just sayin it hasn't in country or near by for that matter...So chill, have a cold one, ban the pumpers and press on..Semper fi..one interesting thing is the mood is getting better in Baghdad, but let me enlighten you , it is still a combat zone and very far from utopia... Alot and I say ALOT of Iranians passin through with bags an bags of fruit, hmm UN sanctions must be really getting to them, that must be what was meant by the "purchasing of large gifts" by you know who the f...anyway peace everyone have a great weekend.

  17. There is nothing which I dread so much as a division of the republic into two great parties, each arranged under its leader, and concerting measures in opposition to each other. This, in my humble apprehension, is to be dreaded as the greatest political evil under our Constitution. John Adams
  18. Every generation or so, a major secular shift takes place that shakes up the existing paradigm. It happens in industry, finance, literature, sports, manufacturing, technology, entertainment, travel, communication, etc. I would like to discuss the paradigm shift that is occurring in politics. For a long time, American politics has been defined by a Left/Right dynamic. It was Liberals versus Conservatives on a variety of issues. Pro-Life versus Pro-Choice, Tax Cuts vs. More Spending, Pro-War vs Peaceniks, Environmental Protections vs. Economic Growth, Pro-Union vs. Union-Free, *** Marriage vs. Family Values, School Choice vs. Public Schools, Regulation vs. Free Markets. The new dynamic, however, has moved past the old Left Right paradigm. We now live in an era defined by increasing Corporate influence and authority over the individual. These two “interest groups” – I can barely suppress snorting derisively over that phrase – have been on a headlong collision course for decades, which came to a head with the financial collapse and bailouts. Where there is massive concentrations of wealth and influence, there will be abuse of power. The Individual has been supplanted in the political process nearly entirely by corporate money, legislative influence, campaign contributions, even free speech rights. This may not be a brilliant insight, but it is surely an overlooked one. It is now an Individual vs. Corporate debate – and the Humans are losing. Consider: • Many of the regulations that govern energy and banking sector were written by Corporations; • The biggest influence on legislative votes is often Corporate Lobbying; • Corporate ability to extend copyright far beyond what original protections amounts to a taking of public works for private corporate usage; • PAC and campaign finance by Corporations has supplanted individual donations to elections; • The individuals’ right to seek redress in court has been under attack for decades, limiting their options. • DRM and content protection undercuts the individual’s ability to use purchased content as they see fit; • Patent protections are continually weakened. Deep pocketed corporations can usurp inventions almost at will; • The Supreme Court has ruled that Corporations have Free Speech rights equivalent to people; (So much for original intent!) None of these are Democrat/Republican conflicts, but rather, are corporate vs. individual issues. For those of you who are stuck in the old Left/Right debate, you are missing the bigger picture. Consider this about the Bailouts: It was a right-winger who bailed out all of the big banks, Fannie Mae, and AIG in the first place; then his left winger successor continued to pour more money into the fire pit. What difference did the Left/Right dynamic make? Almost none whatsoever. How about government spending? The past two presidents are regarded as representative of the Left Right paradigm – yet they each spent excessively, sponsored unfunded tax cuts, plowed money into military adventures and ran enormous deficits. Does Left Right really make a difference when it comes to deficits and fiscal responsibility? (Apparently not). What does it mean when we can no longer distinguish between the actions of the left and the right? If that dynamic no longer accurately distinguishes what occurs, why are so many of our policy debates framed in Left/Right terms? In many ways, American society is increasingly less married to this dynamic: Party Affiliation continues to fall, approval of Congress is at record lows, and voter participation hovers at very low rates. There is some pushback already taking place against the concentration of corporate power: Mainstream corporate media has been increasingly replaced with user created content – YouTube and Blogs are increasingly important to news consumers (especially younger users). Independent voters are an increasingly larger share of the US electorate. And I suspect that much of the pushback against the Elizabeth Warren’s concept of a Financial Consumer Protection Agency plays directly into this Corporate vs. Individual fight. But the battle lines between the two groups have barely been drawn. I expect this fight will define American politics over the next decade. Keynes vs Hayek? Friedman vs Krugman? Those are the wrong intellectual debates. Its you vs. Tony Hayward, BP CEO, You vs. Lloyd Blankfein, Goldman Sachs CEO. And you are losing . . . ~~~ This short commentary was conceived not to be an exhaustive research, but rather, to stimulate debate. There are many more examples and discussions we can have about this, and I hope readers do so in comments. But my bottom line is this: If you see the world in terms of Left & Right, you really aren’t seeing the world at all . . .
  19. The powers-that-be are trying to distract us from the looting of our wallets by the big banks by creating a left-versus-right, us-versus-them drama. You know, the old divide-and-conquer schtick. Americans from across the political spectrum are furious at the financial elite who have robbed us blind, and their enablers in government. While at the moment, conservatives are getting more press, those on the left are just as angry. For example, leading progressive Glenn Greenwald wrote an essay entitled "The virtues of public anger and the need for more" cheering the fact that Americans are starting to get in touch with their righteous anger at being ripped off. Liberals have launched their own version of the tea party protests calling for the big banks to be broken up. And many leading economists and policy experts have thunderously railed against Obama's continuation of Bush's cover-up-the-truth, too-big-to-fail, stick-it-to-the-taxpayers approach to the economic crisis. On the conservative side of the aisle, Ron Paul's media coordinator said that the mainstream Republican party has tried to hijack the tea party movement and has "co-opted" its message. He warns against letting the movement be diverted: It's important the people at the grassroots level stick to our guns and say no when they try to co-opt our message.... Bringing in someone like Gingrich takes away from the message. Newt Gingrich enabled George W. Bush, he enabled the big spending... And as Michael Rivero has written: Beware this "left wing versus right wing" dichotomy. This is an attempt to trick us into arguing with each other instead of uniting against the common cause of our problems... The only real divide is the one mentioned at the very top of this article. The one percent that owns it all against the 99% of us being driven into poverty. The poor against the oligarchs. To my friends on both the left and the right, I urge you to remember that folks on the other side of the aisle are not the problem. As honest people on both the left and the right agree, the real problems are: Lack of honest disclosure about the shenanigans of the financial giants Failing to prosecute the criminal actions of those companies and their big wigs Failing to break up zombie insolvent companies Slipping trillions of dollars into the hands of the richest and most powerful companies under the table Gaming the numbers And continuing to pursue failed economic policies even after they've been proven counterproductiveIf we fall for the divide and conquer strategy, where idiots on both sides try to focus our anger on the "other team" instead of the real culprits, we will get distracted, lose direction, and thus became easy to ignore and control. Then the powers-that-be will be able to continue pickpocketing us for years to come."
  20. interesting article. I enjoyed it, hope it stimulates a positive debate. The powers-that-be use the words "conservative", "Republican", "liberal" and "Democrat" as wedge issues. But those terms are largely without substance. They are really "brand names" like Coke and Pepsi, and with about as much difference. For example, Bush is a "Republican" and so-called "conservative", and yet he spent our country into staggering debt levels, launched various imperial adventures, and rolled back 200-year old traditions contained in the Constitution. Nancy Pelosi is a "liberal" and "Democrat", yet she has apparently flown all over the country on air force jets using them as her "personal airline", prevented impeachment against war criminals, and encouraged torture and spying on Americans, and covered-up of the fact that the supposed sources of information for the 9/11 investigation were unreliable. Pelosi talked about ending the Iraq war, but then voted for spending increases for the war every single time. And both Bush and Pelosi helped throw trillions of dollars at failed, corrupt financial companies without requiring any oversight or control. True, there are some real and important differences on certain issues. But on many issues, the difference is mainly one of style and images, and the parties are no more different than Coke is from Pepsi: both are drinks made with a lot of sugar, carbonation, food coloring, preservatives and water. Their "secret flavoring ingredients" might be slightly different, but they are 99.9% the same. Progressives Versus Libertarians The words "progressive" and "libertarian" still have some meaning, and have not yet been totally co-opted. People who consider themselves "progressive" are largely critical of the DNC agenda, and are pushing for real change. Likewise, "libertarians" are highly critical of the Republican party, and support real change. Indeed, despite the divide-and-conquer strategy of the powers-that-be, and its false "left-right" dichotomy, progressives and libertarians think a lot alike on many issues. That's why progressives who support Dennis Kucinich and libertarians who like Ron Paul actually work together on many issues. Neo-Blank Of course, part of the problem is that "Neoconservatives, like Bush, are not really conservative. And "Neoliberals" are not really liberal. So whatever distinction the terms conservative and liberal might formerly have had are largely gone, co-opted by the wealthy and powerful to serve their needs. As such, they have become largely indistinguishable. How Could He Be Both Conservative and Liberal? George Washington was neither a "republican" or a "democrat". Those parties didn't exist when he was president. He was simply an "American". Let's play a game. Who are the all-time most conservative people in America? Who are the most liberal? You might assume that the most conservative people are small-town midwestern Christians, and that the most liberal people are San Franciscan gays or hippies. But are those stereotypes accurate? What could be more conservative than a native american who followed traditions largely unchanged for hundreds of years, who took only as much as he and his family needed, who used every single part of the animal he killed and wasted nothing, and whose spiritual beliefs formed the basis for every part of his life? What could be more liberal than the "seven generations" concept of the Iroquois: The Great Law of the Iroquois League imposed a duty upon leaders to "have always in view not only the present, but also the coming generations, even those whose faces are yet beneath the surface of the ground—the unborn of the future Nation," and the Iroquois tradition is to consider the impact of decisions on the next seven generations. The Iroquois sought to protect their environment so that it could keep providing healthy food and good living. They were peacemakers who negotiated conflicts between other tribes. And the women elders had impeachment power to sideline a male leader who acted for himself instead of for the good of the tribe. Am I saying that we should all dress up like native Americans and show up at pow wows? Of course not. I'll I'm saying is that the strategy of the elite is always to create false stereotypes to divide and conquer us and turn us against one another. I'm saying that we need to think for ourselves about what conservative and what liberal means, and which parts of each we want to embrace and which parts we don't want any part of. I'm saying don't let others define you. Define yourself.
