  1. With all the talk of raising our minimum wage, I cannot imagine the long range effects it would have. You would double the labor rate of many products made here. You would drive off sooo many manufacturing jobs here that unemployment would be off the charts. If you think China takes a lot of our jobs now, just wait and see what happens with a $15 an hour minimum wage. I have no disrespect for low wage workers, but you earn what you work for(difficult and extraordinary situations excluded). It also demeans what other professionals have worked hard to achieve. I am a nurse and worked hard to earn a degree and make a good life for myself. what does it say when one can push a broom or flip burgers and make almost half of what I worked years to achieve? This is such a bad idea for our economy. Small businesses cannot afford to pay these wages. Your morning joe at Starbucks just doubled in price. Say good bye to the dollar menu at Burger King or Mickey D's. Say hello to out of control unemployment. And if they do pass it and realize they screwed up, there is no way to turn back the clock. You cannot repeal the wage law and say to millions of people, sorry we are cutting your pay in half. Think about it, call your senators and such. Do not let this happen. The country cannot afford $15 an hour min wage laws. Again, no disrespect to the lower wage earners, I just don't see any good from it. What does it tell others? You don't need a good education or training to earn $15 an hour, you just need crazy laws. Please do not take this the wrong way, I am not trying to sound snobbish or prudish or anything. I just do not see this as a good idea.
  2. Is this their version of us raising our min wage? Can you imagine someone who flips burgers making $15 an hour?
  3. Just look at our senate and such. Many of them rarely show up and suck our tax dollars in. They probably learned from us.
  4. Possum and intel are mutually exclusive terms.
  5. No worry, I have the store already picked out. I even have my system picked. Now I just need the money to BUY it.
  6. How many dead in Egypt this week? Makes Iraq seem like a safe haven.
  7. It's all blood money, through and through.
  8. All smoke and horse hockey. I don't see how they could announce to the world that they are going to drastically increase he value of their money. They just like to see their names in he papers. Kind of like okie just making stuff up just to see his name in the rumors section. All smoke and horse hockey fellas.
  9. How many lives most importantly and how much money do we lose yearly on the troubles there? I know it's more complicated than just pulling out and saying " you're on your own guys". But at what point should we consider doing so. I get so frustrated reading and seeing on the news all the lives ruined by the violence throughout the Middle East, including Iraq, Egypt, Israel and others. How can we peacefully and safely get ourselves out of the mess over there? We lose so many innocent people there. We also give billions away that could feed and house our own poor. But our government insists to give to others as our own starve. I have a hard time comprehending how people could be so violent from the cradle to the grave? Why can't we just get along is a giant understatement. It's is so disheartening to see children crying and bleeding in the streets as they watch their families wage warfare in front of them. What would happen if we did just say forget it and we just pulled out all of our troops and stopped giving all our money to them. For one thing they would run out of money to supply the fighters. I think they could not afford to fight if we would just stop the flow of money. Just sounds too easy of a way to stop it. Sorry for the long wind and the soapbox stand, just tired of all this killing. Thanks for reading and feel free to chime in.
  10. They are too busy bombing and planning attacks to apply for a job.
  11. I think the talk is they are planning to pull in the 000 notes and issue new currency later. I do not see how anyone could think they would advertise they plan to significantly raise the value of their currency. Their articles are just too difficult to decipher which leads to numerous interpretations. All we can do is wait and hope things go our way. Think about it......They will not advertise a raise in value. JMO.
  12. So true, you do not broadcast such an event. This might be someone who is ticked that it did not happen and now he is trying to bury those who held it back.
  13. As I keep saying, I know it's the rumor section. But just give it a break. Find something else to do.
  14. I know, I know, it's the rumors. But c'mon, aren't YOU getting tired of bringing the same crap here over and over again? Give it a break.
  15. I could not imagine visiting that place. That would be like taking a tour of he ll.
  16. Theyve been keeping them for years. Only recently have pics surfaced. I saw them as far back as 1990 when I was preparing for mass casualties at Mcguire AFB.
  17. I know this is the rumors section, but this is getting old. Give it a break.
  18. Note: Frank26 will not look too good as he has been saying Talibani is running Iraqi from a secret location in Kurdistan, Read more: http://dinarvets.com/forums/index.php?/topic/156750-deal-between-maliki-and-barzani-to-postpone-the-announcement-and-the-death-of-president-talabani/#ixzz2b128gkN9 Now that's funny.
  19. I remember reading an article where the Iraqi government was promising a Prosperous Ramadan. What were they talking about? Has anyone else seen this article? Can it still happen? What did they mean by prosperous?
  20. I just cannot believe the amount of hate in that country. I know the religious holds are strong there, but the raw hatred just amazes me. I cannot believe there is so much venom in the hearts of human beings. Animals of the most violent kind do not act as viciously as the people there. I feel for the innocent people killed there on such a regular basis. I also don't know how a change in the value of their currency would improve their way of life? The evil people would just have more money for weapons and such. These people need some form of a change of heart before any change in currency can help. Sad, very sad.
  21. My cousins sister in laws neice's brother knows a WF banker who told her it will be 3.36 by the end of open swim at the ramada inn in Baghdad.
  22. I cannot imagine what things may be like when/if I am a grandfather. 15-20 years from now is hard to picture. With all the changes in the last ten years I can't think of ten to twenty years from now. Even if the dinar hits, I don't know what it would be like for our next generations here. Money can only do so much. The hate seems to cross all borders and that scares me the most.
