  1. 20 Mil This is a great idea. Having been scammed a couple of times and tens of thousands lost forever it is wonderful to make people aware. We were part of a 'bridge loan' scheme out of Long Island....The company was named AGAPE so funny that AGAPE means The love of God manifested, it screwed some of my in laws' family out of everything. Nicholas Cosmo is now in prison. Unfortunately not before destroying many...this would be a very valuable service!
  2. HILARIOUS Smee! Thanks for the laugh
  3. Good morning fellow DV Christians, Since so many folks on here have such a giving mindset, I would really be interested post RV, to discuss the possibility of some of us setting up a non- profit oragnization to further good works...I don't know enough about the subject, I only am sure that it is something I would be very interested in doing, but, maybe from a business perspective it would not be as beneficial for a group to do it together. I mean, one might as well get the tax benefits of such am organization...I don't know if that could work for a group? Who has experience in this area? Would anyone be open to a conversation along these lines? If I were to go down this road I clearly would choose to do so with like minded people!
  4. Great post NELG, I gave you a +! I happen to love Tim Tebow, not only because I am a BRONCO fan(learned to enjoy football cause my husband is a Colo. native and die hard Bronco fan). But even more important, as you alluded to, Tim is a Christian and doesn't care about what others think. I believe that this is so critical...so many people, especially our young ones, really look up to sports figures and the message that Tim sends is soooo important, especially now in this day and time. I pray for Tim to be exhalted, cause his actions will bring some to Christ. It's really funny how he was the talk of the nation in the media cause of his football as well as his TEBOWING. I have also noticed how his teemmates have seemingly embraced his faith, at least on the field, as they look to be praying together in a few huddles that I have noticed. Last week, when a Bronco got hurt on the field, you couls see his teammates huddled together in prayer. What a witness for our Lord!!! How proud his parents must be...No matter what happens on the field, he has certainly brought a national awareness to the Christian faith. So gooo Broncos!!! NELG, I would love to meet you, as well as many other believers on this site(I would love to meet non-believers too, but I have a passion for Christianity) I hope that you plan on attending some post RV function so we can chat....God Bless,Cat (WEALTHHOUND) DESIMO, I just read your post, and if I can ask, I don't understand the point that you are trying to bring?
  5. BRAVO, can't wait to hear more!!!
  6. I guess this topic isn't very interesting, but thanks to whomever fixed my spelling!!
  7. I agree with your definition of the tithe, however, I have another thought regarding this...if say an individual does not happen to be connected to a specific church, then how would they give to further God's work? It that case, since as I posted earlier, one would have to decide what they believed was the best place for that tithe, and by the way, a tithe is to be given of your "firstfruits", that would be considered monies before taxes. Biblically speaking, we really do not have the chance to give 1st to the church, if we tithe from a JOB, cause taxes are taken before we even get our checks! Of course God knows this, and we work with the laws of the land. My point is that the motive of one to give would be very important to God. If someone doesn't have a church and desires to give, I believe their tithe (in God's eyes) would receive the same blessings as givig to a church! God looks on the heart, and He would understand the individuals circumstances. Ever consider that there are many churches that really are not about the work of the Lord but are just big business. Ideally, you are correct in saying that the intent of the tithe is to be given to the church to further good works. Like salaries for the preachers, etc. that don't have traditional "jobs", Also, as you mentioned, anything above the tithe would be considered abundant sharing and could be in the form of money, time as well as other means. This is my understanding, having studied the Word of God for several years...I remember the first time I waas able to tithe, I cried that I had the opportunity after I read and understood from Gods Word about the meaning of tithe as well as abundant sharing! God Bless...and seriously, if anyone here does not clearly understand tithing, please be sure to ask at your church so that you may do so with knowlege and understanding. A ministry that I was part of years ago was fantastic at teaching us how to read the bible for ourselves and to be able to rightly divide it...I will be forever thankful and grateful for that teaching. It's like so many people don't know the promises in th bible, they may not be taught so they can't claim those promises if they are not aware of them and/or have not been taught correctly regarding them.like it states in Ecclesiastes(para phrased) My people are destroyed for lack of knowlege. And to you Bama, several times you have posted things regarding the bible, sounds like you are very hungry for God's truth and I thank you for your posts cause they cause me to REMEMBER things that perhaps I have not considered for awhile...God Bless
  8. Hey BamaGirl My thoughts go along with those above..if you are not connected to a church/ministry then what I WOULD do is to give the 10% off the top before anything else to whatever organization(s) that you believe best serves God,s purposes. Ultimately as God is the searcher of hearts it is between you and Him and don,t forget to claim the blessings girl !!!
  9. Thanks Adam and mods for your work today, and every day!!
  10. Thank you to all that posted their thoughts here...seems to me that maybe there should be some kind of accountability but I do see now that would be quite difficult, I just don't want any bozo spending my tax dollars on his own efforts(especially when I don't agree with him) biased, I know!
  11. HeavyDuty, Thanks for the post on securing your monies. definately something I need to look into. It would be an absolute TRAGEDY to have a loss after all this time, gives me goose bumps just thinking about it...
  12. Cute, very cute, thanks for the chuckle!
  13. Carla, I am so saddened to hear about the loss of this young man, of course I will keep it in my prayers.
  14. I hear ya but your thoughts on my original question????
  15. sorry that my I have areyour together, can anyone fix the words in my topic??? Me too, but in this situation, when would one be on their own time, except if they took a vacation or sick or personal day,now that's another subject....
  16. What do you think is the right thing to do? When someone is in office and running for reelection, what would you consider the appropriate way to campaign while in office? I am a bit confused as far as what my own opinion on this is. When one is in office as has a job to do in that position, doesn't campaigning for reelection take lots of time away from that individuals current responsibilities? My hubby says there is a right way to do both, I'm not sure how I feel about this, certainly one's focus would be greatly divided trying to do both at the same time??? Come on all you smartie pants here, what insite can you bring???
  17. Bama, I prayed this AM, but I will be honored to pray again at the same time with you and anyone else that wasn't able to join earlier, I didn't see the post about the loss of one of our own here, and as requested, I will lift the family.
