  1. This may be true in the towns right on the border but it's no different than how some towns on the Washington/Oregon border will eliminate sales tax for Oregonians even though they're in WA.... it's only to help boost business. In other words the only reason your "loonie is loved" is because of how close these towns are to the border and how they depend on Canadians for their economy just as much as they do their fellow Americans. What you're saying may have some truth to it, but don't make it sound like we LOVE to take your money, it is in fact kind of a pain in the butt. Myself being a hotel worker for some years, I can't tell you how annoying it was to get a friendly northern neighbour checking in insisting on using canadian currency. Oh sure, I'd take it because I had to and that's the nature of business, but it does not mean I loved doing it. Now fast forward, living and working just about an hour and a half south of the border, and what do you know? No businesses anywhere around here will take anything but USD. So maybe there are some areas along the border that will take canadian money based purely on smart business, but the vast majority of the U.S. is not this way.
  2. Just have to say that anyone who assumes being high on weed forces you to "check out" and not do anything productive or socialize with family and friends needs to bolster their own experience and knowledge of the plant. I indulge, have a great family life, an excellent job, and am almost finished with school. In fact a lot of the time weed will make me feel MORE adventurous and want to go out and do things! Don't knock it till you know it.
  3. Haha man whoever gave a negative to this post needs to celebrate 420 more than most. Dude if you don't get it then trust me you don't need to worry about it haha. Get a clue before you say something stupid like calling a post stupid when you in fact obviously have no clue what was really meant by it. Doobie snacks at my house after work!
  4. I think I must have missed where that was said..... Although I will say that the irony of someone misspelling the word stupid (stoopid) when calling something else stupid is not lost on me.
  5. And here I was thinking I was going to be rich ten minutes ago... dang guess I'll have to go beg for my job back!
  6. I just love it when someone clearly states at the top of their post 'this did not come from me, please don't shoot the messenger' and then it's like everyone reads everything but that part and decides to shoot (negative) the messenger anyway. Ha, he went from negative to positive in the time it took me to post that.
  7. hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaa oh man
  8. You took the words right out of my mouth! While I have to respect any well thought out opinion, I don't have to respect the mouth it comes out of and unfortunately keep comes off as a smug little kid, believing he has all the answers, regarding everyone who disagrees as "stupid" (not to mention the fact that the need to attack people at all when stating ones opinion is a strong sign of immaturity), and just basically displaying a general inability to conduct himself as an adult. Respect must be earned and the best way to do that is by respecting others, especially those who believe differently than you! And just real quick on another note.... where is the proof that there are currently 27 trillion dinars in circulation? Many continue to cite this figure but everytime someone says "PROVE IT" that question seems to just get ignored. And by proof I don't mean outdated articles from 2003 or even 2009, it's currency people it only stands to reason that the amount would have diminished continually since they were put into circulation. 9. I could be wrong but I thought most of what I read was pointing toward the 15th, tomorrow, not today. Oh well, I don't get excited for any of it anymore, not until it actually happens anyway.
  10. Ok first of all this is not a rumor of any kind and should not have been posted here, read the forum description if you really don't know what RUMORS means. Secondly they're called rumors for a reason, if you don't like it change the channel man. If we want a website with completely free information exchange unfortunately you gotta let the bad stuff in too, otherwise it'd be no different than the filtered media spoon fed to us on american news networks. If we start filtering all the gurus, no matter how wrong they end up being or how heinous their predictions sometimes are, then how long before we can't be sure of the value of any info on the site? If we know the info coming our way is being filtered constantly, how do we keep it from being just another biased news media? The fact is rumors by definition are unverified and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that that sort of thing should never be taken at face value. If you must read them then take what nuggets of info you can from them and do the research yourself, otherwise it's just a shortcut to thinking.
  11. longtime seattle fan so you know I had to root for the pack today! Goodbye stEAlers, looks like the black and yellow was black and blue after this one!
  12. How often does this solstice crossing of the galactic equator occur and what is its physical significance? We have already seen that precession advances the ecliptic longitude of celestial objects at a rate of 0.01397º/year, so in order to complete a 360º circle, the time taken must be 360/0.01397 or just under 25,800 years. There are many claims of a unique alignment which occurs every 25,800 or, less accurately, 26,000 years. What does this mean in real physical terms? Well, not much. Precession is simply the gradual change in the direction in which the Earth's axis points. The line of solstices is an imaginary line which is the projection of the Earth's axis on to the plane of its orbit. Like the axis, this line completes a rotation about the sky every 25,800 years. Twice during each rotation, this line crosses the galactic equator, once with the December solstice lining up roughly with the direction of the center of the galaxy and 12,900 years later with the June solstice facing in this direction. We need to bear in mind that the direction in which the Earth's axis is pointing is important only in the vicinity of the Earth. It has no importance elsewhere in the solar system or the galaxy. There is no significance in the direction in which the axis or line of solstices happens to be pointing. Two of the most famous sights in Geneva, Switzerland are the floral clock and the large fountain in the lake. Twice a day, the hour hand of the clock points towards the fountain. Yes, it could be called an alignment, but what does it mean? Nothing, of course. In the same way, the direction in which the Earth's axis or line of solstices is pointing means nothing in relation to distant objects. Let's put it another way. The Earth is our viewing platform from which we look out at space. It is gradually tilting. How does this affect phenomena arising from the motions of the Sun, stars and galaxy? It requires us to point our telescopes in slightly different directions over time, but it has no effect whatsoever on these phenomena. It's rather like sitting in your backyard and viewing an eclipse. If you tilt your chair slightly backwards, does it alter the eclipse? Of course not. Claims of a 'once in 26,000 year' physical event arising from any sort of alignment are without foundation. There is no physical relationship between the line of solstices and the galactic plane.
  13. I'll take a mac & jacks with a fireball rocks to sip on
  14. Just wanted to say right off the bat; right on! I may have my own views on the topic, but I know others differ and it's all of our privilage to disagree but it's also our responsibilty to respect one and other. I love your point and it needed to be said. Honestly this is only off of the first paragraph, I will continue reading...... now. ......and after reading the rest, I have to say I could not have said it better myself.
  15. Could not agree with you more. Though I have to say the two things that are quickly becoming almost as annoying as the false predictions are the people who cry and cry about those jerks who once again got the rate/date wrong; if it's not in the news section then don't assume it's true. On the same token also the people who harp about protecting the "newbies" from false info from the gurus.... we're all free thinking individuals capable of our own decisions, just because you've newly signed up to DV has and should have no bearing whatsoever on how much real experience you have in this investment or your ability to tell BS from legit info.
  16. Unless of course you happen to be a sportsfan who couldn't care less about the university of cinci, however unlikely the existence of such a person maayyy beee (sarcasm). No 5/3 in washington, at least not that I know of, never heard of them and don't know anyone on the west who has, they may be old but they must be big in other areas besides the west coast.
  17. Word up friend! While I respect others beliefs, it does seem to me that some people treat this investment like it's some sort of religious venture.... this is purely economic, nothing more nothing less. Gave you a plus to offset the negs. just because you haven't been on DV for very long does not mean you have nothing to contribute, come on now...
  18. hahahahahahahahaaaaa oh man, that is awesome.
  19. Close, but you forgot to add the part about negativity + no stated evidence to backup said negativity= negative
  20. Hmmm I will say that it's not totally clear whether or not Christ himself drank wine, but it is highly suggestive that he might have and it's abundantly clear that he promoted it to his followers..... Genesis 27:25, 28, 37 25 - And he said, Bring it near to me, and I will eat of my son's venison, that my soul may bless thee. And he brought it near to him, and he did eat: and he brought him wine, and he drank. 28 - Therefore God give thee of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of corn and wine: 37 - And Isaac answered and said unto Esau, Behold, I have made him thy lord, and all his brethren have I given to him for servants; and with corn and wine have I sustained him: and what shall I do now unto thee, my son? MATTHEW 11 18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil. 19 The Son of man(jesus) came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children. LUKE 22 15 And he [Christ Jesus] said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer: 16 For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God. 17 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves: 18 For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come. 19 ¶ And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. 20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you. not to mention jesus was born a jew which makes it pretty inconcievable that he never was a part of a passover seder which would have him drinking 4 glasses of wine.....
  21. Whoa, been seeing so much positivity on this site lately that this thread was like a sudden slap... what's with all the negativity people?! Personally I see far more reasons to think it will happen next week than to think it won't. Some people just don't like being hopeful I guess....
  22. With all due respect, not everyone involved in this investment shares the same belief or worships the same God or ideal, so let's try to remain aware that the true faith of this dinar venture is colored green. I'll reiterate, no disrespect meant, mad respect for those who have the courage of their faith, just remember that not everyone has the same kind of faith as you.
  23. There are some great people with big hearts on this website, insipring sometimes. You definitely got my donation coming from southern canada... er..... washington state I mean
