I'm a consultant electrical engineer, on 99% of contracts I work on energy efficiency is at the top of the clients list ...... we've been doing this in major industry for decades it's only natural progression for it to trickle down to the domestic market eventually Example question to you sir The Machine if you have 1) 50hp pump to save energy do you supply pump A.120/208 3phase or B.277/480 3 phase if so why? Ohms law, increase volts reduces amps. Lower amps reduces cost therefore you have green energy efficiently. Yes or No. Well, this is the so called concept. In reality: 1hp equals 746 watts x 50hp =37300 watts. Are ya with me? Therefore if you increase or decrease you still have a 50 hp mother that consumes 37300 watts. Where I live the electrical company charges per kWh. Therefore in the electrical field most green energy saving is CRAP. LED and CFL don't last any longer then a incandescent lamp. Electric water heater for example how are they going to make more energy efficient, make a cfl for heating? Must have a heat source, a not as hot engery source non green just as a stove, sure convection but you still have the main heat source. Most talk of Green Energy is CRAP.
