  1. Thank you so much, Waterman 13. My computer won't let me do a number of things. I hate it. I didn't know not to buy Windows 8, a huge mistake. When I threw a fit, Staples did put 8.1 on it, but that is the best they could do, and it still comes up short in many ways. But I loved that report on the bikers. So again, thanks much. Fran
  2. One of my old high school classmates reminds me of Trey Gowdy. A little bulldog, Ken was life-flighted out of Vietnam three times. And he wanted to go back again, but the Marine Corp wouldn't go for it. Ken will be a Marine until St Peter welcomes him home, but I hear they need staunch patriots up there, too. If anyone can get the facts and bring resolution to the families and the American people, it is Trey Gowdy. You go, Trey!!!
  3. I had no clue there was a Biker's Club of Baghdad. They wear Harley insignia, although they don't ride Harleys, probably can't afford them. This is amazing. You can find it at Bond Lady's Corner--I'm sorry that I couldn't bring it over. But if anything has ever given me hope about Iraq, it is this. It's just so American, ya' know?!!
  4. Try this. http://another site/no-new-resolution-on-the-zeros-project/ Sorry, I tried it and it didn't work. Came up empty. It is the last another site newsletter I received in which he talks about the lifting of the zeros. It says pretty muchs what was said above.
  5. They'll change their minds when the RV happens. I think it will happen this year, most likely around July 1st, since that is apparently the beginning of their new year, which I understand is the date the banks want to raise the value of their money unit (the dinar).
  6. I think it will RV at somewhere between $3 and $3.50. It may start slightly lower, but by the time I can consult with an attorney and get to a bank to cash in, it will be somewhere near this rate.
  7. Thank you so much, txdinargirl. That is so sweet. I think they will come to understand someday. I hope it is before I die, but if not, I am sure I will still know about their changes. I was trying to protect them when they were young, and to do it, I would not fight openly with their dad who could be extremely cruel verbally, and I just didn't want them to go through that. But it looks like I made a mistake in protecting them. However, I am sure a time will come when they will have to confront the truth. That's just how things work.
  8. Many of us do follow the old testament regarding giving. It is a fair measure of how much to give, and it is a good guideline. If everyone would just do that much, the world would be a kinder place. I know special people I would like to help quite a bit, a.k.a., my children and a couple special friends, but after that, I will still give 10% of all the rest to help my fellowman. Then every year, I will again give at least 10% of my increase to help others. For myself, I want to have a beautiful new home built from the ground up, and then I want to go to a huge furniture mall in North Carolina (the furniture capitol of the world) and buy very expensive, gorgeous new furniture and have it shipped back. I did that once many years ago, and I loved it. I had that furniture until about 4 years ago when the bottom fell out of my 401K, and I had to sell my house, almost all my beautiful things, and move in with my daughter and her family. I am loved and wanted here, but I still want my own home.
  9. Those of us who want this car will descend on you, Umberto. Suddenly you'll have a house full of Americans. LOL I want to do this, just once and just for kicks. I want my kids to see me driving it. They will go nuts!! Just the very idea of it makes me laugh out loud. lol
  10. I pray this is a true story because I have seen little league teams do such things. The boys on both teams will never forget their "Shay moment," and especially their own participation in it. So much more was gained that day than the win of a single game. Those boys will be better men for the rest of their lives because they rose to new heights when the Universe offered them this incredible opportunity. I think from time to time, God sends us angels like Shay to teach all of us the value and rich rewards of helping those less fortunate.
  11. And ole' Harry Reid leads the pack. Next to Obama himself, Reid is the worst thing that has ever happened to America.
  12. Why have they refused to OK this until now? I don't understand why they would drag their feet over something like this. They may have had a reason, but I sure can't think of what it might be.
  13. You can never go wrong if you keep hoping. And there is nothing to gain if you don't hope, other than the constant nagging feeling of hopelessness. lol You can trust Adam. Period. End of story. He only tells it exactly how it is, no promises, but his reality offers lots of dreaming and hoping and planning and knowing he will be there to help us wend our way through a giant maze when the RV does come. And by the way, I think it will happen on July 1, 2014. But any of these people will tell you that I am no expert, furthest thing from it, so maybe what I think is just more hope talking. lol
  14. That looks fairly accurate to me. lol That looks fairly accurate to me. lol
  15. All that has to happen is for one of them to make a magic projection, and suddenly all of them "knew" the same thing, and lines up behind the first one. 16. Trey Gowdy is a perfect choice. Trey Gowdy is a perfect choice.
  17. There's just something wrong, something still being hidden from the American people, when obvious lies, such as the one about the film maker in California, were being spouted by the people in charge. While all this was happening, Obama went to bed so he could get up and fly to California the next day to raise political funds, and Hillarious watched the events unfolding in Benghazi from the situation room in the White House. Neither Obama nor Hillarious were much good at that proverbial 3 a.m. phone call. Just ask Ambassador Stevens. These same people somehow overlooked the fact that ordinary Americans are used to expecting to hear the truth, and are used to ferreting out lies, especially from an already suspect government. That story of the film maker, and the picture of Hillarious making that ad to run in Islamic countries, the one where she blamed the events of Benghazi on an American filmmaker while apologizing for America (again) is still jarring to Americans. The poor filmmaker, a bad one at best, was put in jail by the Obama administration for an extended time for simply making a very bad film, which he had every right in America to do. Susan Rice was not the only one spewing lies that day and for quite a while afterward. I saw a T-shirt that says "Four reasons Hillarious should not be president," and then it listed, one at a time, the names of the four Americans killed in Benghazi. The same could be easily said about Obama. But then many things could be said to show why Obama should not be living in our White House. I will say this for the Obamas, though. They are both grabbing all they can get while they are there, including the many extremely expensive vacations at our expense, and Michelle's long train of ladies-in-waiting, again on money they take from the American people. Many of us can't take a vacation just to get out of town for a few days, but . . . ::: sigh ::: . . . I digress. 18. These are interesting stories, and I am glad you guys shared them. But the bottom line is that no one, not even fairly important people from Baghdad, know for sure when this will happen, and as we know, many signs are pointing toward it as we speak. Of course, nothing is for sure, including the time, date and even if, but I like to think it is. LOL
  19. I am certainly no oil expert, but my understanding is that much of our oil would require fracking to recover. And our government hasn't wanted to allow that process. Why? I have no clue.
  20. What I have never understood is why no president has made an earnest effort to get enough of our own oil out of our ground so we can use it ourselves instead of our country being so tied into other countries that seem not to wish us well. We have the oil. We have the technology. We have the people who need the jobs. We have the businesses and citizens who could use a break on gas prices. And if our prices were fair, we could even have foreign customers. I realize we need to consider other countries that need our petro dollars, but still . . . they have not always been grateful for our consistency and patronage. And we owe it to our own citizens to do what is best for ourselves first. They do. Obama wouldn't consider this, of course, and there are many fools out there who think we would be destroying the rangeland, but that can be handled scientifically these days. Besides, if Harry Reid gets his way, we will have to eventually and bit by bit turn over most of our free range lands to the Chinese to build "profitable" solar plants. (Since when has one of those been profitable except to the politicians who make money for their next election coffers???). (Just for what it's worth, I literally detest that little, ugly, sniveling cheat who is trying to take land that doesn't belong to him and give it to the Chinese in order to line his own pockets and those of his son. Good grief!! What have we elected into office these days??? But I'm very proud of the Oath Keepers, the Sheriffs, and the regular cowboys who have shown up to support the Bundy family. They make me proud [again] to be an American ). Sheriffs are the only law enforcement officers who are elected by the people they serve. So they never forget the word "serve," while that word is sort of lost in the Obama shuffle from the White House on down through our Federal government. Oops!! I had a runaway typewriter, and I just got it back in control. Sorry for my "free-range" thinking/typing here. lol To Machine-- We're still Americans. We will adjust to a new economy where we make our own items, and we will learn to deal with it. What people forget is that we first endured many years of cheap junk China used to send to us (although it has improved tremendously in the last several years), but as Americans, we are certainly creative enough to make our own cheap stuff. lol What we have to do above all is get control of our own dollar again. It will involve some huge changes in how we do things, but again, we are Americans, and we can do that, too.
  21. Just checking how this works when I want to reply to only one person's post, although I don't mind if everyone reads it. lol I'm on another learning curve with this now.
  22. The Kurds have long wanted to go their own way, to keep and sell their own oil, and to have a lot more control than they do. I can understand that, since they felt they had to guard their oil for their own people after Saddam abused them so horribly. For a very long time, they simply didn't want to ever be any part of Iraq ever again. And they may still think that now. But they need to catch up -- they live in a different world now. And if they get involved in the greater Iraqi government, they will soon be a very rich country . . . err . . . part of Iraq. As to Maliki, he knows it is against their constitution for him to run for office again. And if he does it anyway, he is taking a pretty big chunk out of the ongoing validity of their constitution. They are still a very new democracy, still working the chinks out of it, and any large change in their constitution upon demand from Maliki could destroy the entire thing. That would effectively end the only truly democratic country in the middle-east. Obama wouldn't care. He likes the people who are against our country and our democracy. At least it seems like it because he sends anti-American governments in the region our hard-earned money often enough.
  23. When is their election? I've forgotten. (May be my age--ya' think?? haha)
  24. The next thing we know, you'll be asking for a hamburger today with a promise to pay us back tomorrow. lol
