I would be surprised if there wasn't an override kill switch via modem hidden inside the plane somewhere.

Heck, they put 'em in every new car today, weather you use on star or not, they can track your position, sell your info the anyone they want, including advertisers, and they're even talking about a new ticket system based on your own cars nav system.

I'm sure they don't let something like a F-16 go too far away.

Although I had first read this well over a week ago, it's a very good article.

It does however pose yet more questions....such as, what happened for this to take place?

I too was under the impression that the remaining sanction/sanctions prevented this...

And a week later, I am not closer to understanding.
