Here is a great NEWS site...if you're tired of all the "guru nonsense" give it a whirl.

Here you'll see that as of today (10-2-11) the Erbil agreement is NOT finalized.

Again, NEWS not gurus.

MP: political leaders meet this week to implement Erbil agreement

Baghdad (NINA) – MP from the Iraqiya Slate, Othman Al Juhaishi, said the political leaders are meeting this week to implement the Erbil agreement.

He added in a statement to NINA today “head of the Tjdeed bloc, Tariq Al Hashimi, is going to represent the IS in this meeting, while Masoud Barzani will represent the Kurdish Alliance.”

Juhaishi did not mention the National Alliance’s representative.

MP from the KA, Ashwaq Al Jaaf, announced earlier that President Jalal Talabani will meet with the political leaders upon his return from New York in order to solve suspending problems and to reiterate Erbil agreement.

Disputes ongoing between the political blocs around the agreements and laws, including the oil and gas draft laws submitted to the parliament by the government and which aroused rejection of the KA because the draft law limits the authorities to the central government and prevented the provinces from striking deals with foreign companies. Other dispute takes place about the security ministries that are not settled yet and are still run without ministers. /End/

Thank you for the site, and I appreciate your enthusiasm, but this why this is the NEWS forum, so we can get news and not the guru bs. We have a Rumors forum for a reason, and a lot of people don't read it.

Don't forget: Guru is a four letter word.

Maliki wants to take the oil fields that are now owned by the Kurds and nationalize them, and it he does this, it would make sense on the one hand for all bids for oil to be negotiated and rights sold by the national government, but the Kurds had not planned to release their oil field riches to Baghdad, nor was that part of their negotiated agreement, so they are not doing this willingly. If Malki could keep his hands off this, maybe the Kurds wouldn't now be threatening to back out of the government entirely.

This is not the original post that I commented on. What happened?

Again the ERBIL has nothing to do with the RV

From a technical perspective I agree. But, from a political/social perpective its all related to some degree. e.g. They might be looking for more social stability before making any changes to the currency and getting ERBIL over and done with should be a stabilizing event. Not that I think a large RV is going to happen in any case of course.
