Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Al Maliki passed to Parliament Speaker Ousama Al Nujaifi the names of political parties’ candidates for Interior, Defense and Planning ministries in order to decide upon them within the coming days, an informed political source told Alsumaria News.

Maliki dispatched an envoy to Nujaifi handing him the names of three candidates for the position of Interior Minister namely Adnan Al Asadi, Abdul Mohsen Al Kaabi and Ibrahim Allami, the source said.

Allami is the most likely candidate, the source added.

Iraqiya bloc leader Iyad Allawi passed to Prime Minister Maliki the names of Salem Dali and Fallah Naqib for the position of Defense Minister, a source told Alsumaria News.

Carried over from double D. At this point, after all the supposed interaction between Gates and Maliki, let's hope for it to pass!

Nujaifi: No power sharing in Iraq

Saturday, April 09, 2011 11:59 GMT

Iraqi Parliament Speaker Ousama Al Nujaifi affirmed that there is no effective power sharing in Iraq.

Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Al Maliki holds solely full authority in the country, he argued.

If political agreements emerging from the new government formation are not implemented, Iraq will have to carry out new elections, Al Hujaifi said.

In a meeting with the Iraqi community in the Czech Republic, Iraqi Speaker noted that the political agreements within the initiative of Kurdistan leader are being averted, a source told Alsumaria.

Security ministers’ issue has not been settled yet while a certain political party is very unbending over relinquishing power, Nujaifi added.

This is old news. Posted Tuesday the 29th. The articles says that he submitted the names for the Interior, Defense and Planning which he did. They already approved the Planning Minister. So too bad but this is not a new round of names. :(
