I got into a snit and shredded my dinars. I still have all the strips of paper in a plastic bag. If I glue them back together, can I still cash them in? (You can do this with US currency).

One website I read said that if the bills are mutilated they will not be accepted. (Seriously, I read this.) The good news is that that info it came from a dinar site. So you're probably safe!

I think you are going to have problems cashing in. They are supposed to be Uncirculatyed brand new bills.

Maybe CBI will buy them from you, since they will shred this notes.

I don't think the De La Rue machine might be able to verify these notes correctly. I am still believing this is a practical joke to get a 'rise' out of people and not a serious intent to

Two quick things.

One, be glad that you didn't use a cross cut type of shredder,

or you're only hope would have been to take them to a retirement

home and hope that the elderly puzzle fanatics could put them

back together.

And two, instead of using backing paper,

try a laminating machine.

Just lay the strips on the table and laminate

over them...

Sorry but I don't feel for you because you made the decision to destroy them and like the rest of us we are all responsible for the decisions we make in regard to our investment.

Personally I would have sold them back and got some money for them instead of destroying them

I was not angry or depressed-I was in a "snit": a period of poor judgment, like when I bought a 1970 Maverick, or married my first wife. No was else was involved.

Actually, I did this after Butterfly told me my dinars are worthless because they have Saddam's picture on them. (I have turned his picture down on the base paper).
