  1. Does Shi thead's picture mean he's 'dinariFried'?
  2. “A Jewish man was traveling on a trip from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he was attacked by bandits. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him up, and left him half dead beside the road. By chance a priest came along. But when he saw the man lying there, he crossed to the other side of the road and passed him by. A livite walked over and looked at him lying there, but he also passed by on the other side. Then a despised Samaritan came along, and when he saw the man, he felt compassion for him. Going over to him, the Samaritan soothed his wounds with olive oil and wine and bandaged them. Then he put the man on his own donkey and took him to an inn, where he took care of him. The next day he handed the innkeeper two silver coins, telling him, ‘Take care of this man. If his bill runs higher than this, I’ll pay you the next time I’m here.’ “Now which of these three would you say was a neighbor to the man who was attacked by bandits?” Jesus asked. The man replied, “The one who showed him mercy.” Then Jesus said, “Yes, now go and do the same.” (To better understand, Jews and Samaritans did not get along back then. You can compare them to Jews and Arabs today.) Again, if God is brought into the argument, lets look at the bigger picture. Help is on the way... within hours. (Though I do understand the poster's idea about Obama's choice of words. Bottom line, actions speak louder than words.)
  3. Since God was brought into this discussion, here's an analogy: Fishermen in Biblical times who are trying to feed their family or make a living were not cruel. Yet the Bible states Ecclesiastes 9:12 (New International Version) 12 "Moreover, no man knows when his hour will come: As fish are caught in a cruel net, or birds are taken in a snare, so men are trapped by evil times that fall unexpectedly upon them." Nets are not cruel. They don't even know what they are doing. They are inanimate objects which are called cruel by the bible. I think "...this tragedy is especially cruel...." is not far from the same meaning. Bottom line, The USA began coordinating relief within hours.
  4. I also agree. My point is whether another site is a reliable source or not, since their article makes the claim that Dinar held outside of Iraq is illegal, based on what I see as their apparent misinterpretation of the SOFA Agreement that they quote (in the link I mentioned) when in fact, there is no mention of banks at all in that agreement. There were one or two other issues that made me have some doubts about AC, but they may have just been technicalities. If I come across them I'll post them.
  5. http://dinarvets.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5228 see post #5 "I am saying that any Iraqi dinar held outside the borders of Iraq is illegal per Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) banking law." This was taken directly from another site site. Posted by: another site | June 10, 2009 4:50 AM (The original article was posted in 2008, but re-confirmed by another site 6/09.) http://www.another site/2008/12/us_banks_and_the_iraqi_dinar.html So if this article (in the link) is correct, then those who are saying they are purchasing Dinar in US banks are not telling the truth, Or the article is not accurate. It seems that either one or the other of these statements is correct. IMO.
  6. http://www.ninanews.com (National Iraqi News Agency) --------------------------------------------- I would avoid these two, as I have seen inconsistencies in them: The another site and Al-Iraqnews.net Good Thread!

    Haiti

OK, so I'm bumping my own thread. But it's for a good cause. I agree with other's who posted on the other thread, both the Red Cross and Salvation Army are great organizations that help in these situations. (I volunteered at Ground Zero on 9/13 and both of these organizations were doing a great job on the site.) For future reference, you can go take a Red Cross training and be ready in case of a disaster in your area (or one you are able to travel to).

    Haiti

Taking a break from the issues of Dinar, politics, rumors and other things, if anyone would like to send a donation to help the people of Haiti, via the AMERICAN RED CROSS, you can simply TEXT on your cell phone HAITI 90999 and you will be charged $10. Very simple and better than wishing we could help or feeling sorry for them. HAITI 90999 is the same as texting 424 849-0999 Feel free to call the Red Cross for verification. (And confirm your results in a post here.) (I am not sure if the 'by-laws' of this site would prevent a thread like this, but hopefully Adam will give his approval and Haitians can benefit from the good will of members on this site.) Thanks
  9. One of the greatest deceivers of all times knew exactly how to control the masses with lies and rumors.
  10. I Agree. I looked through several other news sources and found nothing about a coup attempt, including Fox and CNN. However, I did find that there was heavy security operations going on from FOX news. I haven't checked CNN yet. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,582818,00.html?test=latestnews BAGHDAD
  11. While this may be a fun idea, sort of like showing how serious we are about our investment, it can also be a potentially dangerous thing to do this. (I can hear some people laughing."Now stop that!!") What I mean is, how many of us would publicly let a bunch of strangers know where they can pick up a few million dollars in cash just by showing up to an address. If you are not internet savvy, just know that anyone on line can be traced. It can be done. If you are internet savvy, then you already know. Anyway, since out investment is supposed to be worth a bunch in the (near?) future, what would stop some hacker/thief from take that chance to be a millionaire many times over just by knocking over a few homes? Most people are decent and will not do this, but all you need is one. I don't think that by posting out Dinar means someone is more reputable or serious than someone who doesn't post their Dinar. (Though at first I liked the idea. Don't get me wrong.) I think a better way of "weeding out the naysayers" can be as simple as allowing a "THUMBS DOWN" and a ''TROLL" button in addition to the "thumbs up" button. "Thumbs down" simply if one disagrees. And "Troll" if one feels the poster is simply being a useless troublemaker. Enough votes and they get a little troll under his/her name, temporarily. Isn't that the idea of posting out Dinar here anyway... to give less attention to those who are not serious or counterproductive? What is wrong with that idea? (It almost seems like one's reputation will be based on their cash on hand, as opposed to one's character based on their actual contributions to this online society.) "I dream of a day that men will not be judged by the quantity of their Dinar, but by the content of their character." -Watif

  16. This is not crap. It's just in miscategorized. Cool toy. I saw a clip on Youtube where a RC plane crashed into an RC Helicopter. My toys will be a tennis court, pool table and some vintage pinball machines. That's just the short list.
  17. Some Intel May Be Flawed It happens. Let's look at this example of flawed intel below. Some of the "intel'' here is so Cloak and Dagger, it seems like a plot straight out of Get Smart. (Complete with all the special catch phrases used on that show.) (Background: Maxwell Smart, agent 86, is a secret agent who works for C.O.N.T.R.O.L.. He calls his supervisor 'Chief'.) This is what happens when Max uncovers a piece of intel.... 1. Secret Agent Maxell Smart goes to the Chief and says: "Now listen carefully, Chief....", and proceeds to sell the Chief this hard-to-believe story. 2. When the Chief finds Max's story hard to believe, Max alters his story to sound more believable, then proceeds to test the Chief's gullability by asking: "Would you believe...?" 3. When Max realizes he has finally been caught, he humbly says: "Sorry about that Chief." 4. But, knowing he will have additional stories in the future story, Max takes a step back from his apology and tries to justify himself slightly by saying: "Missed it by That Much!" Actual video clip gathering intel from powerful source. Makes you wonder. (Only 36 seconds long. Enjoy.) ______________________________________________________________ Not a rumor, and not News. 18. "Lucy, you have some 'splainin' to do!" (BTW, good job! Hopefully it won't get lost in translation.) (Hey, can you edit? You forgot to mention the two recent times that words like "100% certain" were mentioned.)
  19. If you can't post it here, you can email it to whoever asks for it, I imagine. (So I'm asking. )
  20. Two quick points: 1. That article is over two years old. Assuming it was correct at the time, something may have changed since then. 2. Yesterday that same site was used in another thread, and I pointed out (with facts) that what was written on the site was not correct. http://dinarvets.com/forums/showthread.php?p=29581#post29581
  21. One website I read said that if the bills are mutilated they will not be accepted. (Seriously, I read this.) The good news is that that info it came from a dinar site. So you're probably safe!

Oh Oh. I know what's coming!! It would be nice to hear facts and stats so everyone here can be informed.

    If ...

This is "Off Topic"... (just in case. ) I wish everyone peace and tolerance, (receiving and giving), along with a happy and prosperous new year. I just wanted to share this will everyone. Keeping in mind that no one is perfect. It's a few verses I had to write a report on when I was in junior high (middle) school which always stayed in the back of my mind ever since. Feel free to share it with the young people in your lives, or anyone else. If If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you; If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too; If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies, Or, being hated, don't give way to hating, And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise; If you can dream - and not make dreams your master; If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim; If you can meet with triumph and disaster And treat those two imposters just the same; If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools, Or watch the things you gave your life to broken, And stoop and build 'em up with wornout tools; If you can make one heap of all your winnings And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss, And lose, and start again at your beginnings And never breath a word about your loss; If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew To serve your turn long after they are gone, And so hold on when there is nothing in you Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on"; If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch; If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you; If all men count with you, but none too much; If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds' worth of distance run - Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it, And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!
  24. My apologies. . It was tasteless. I had not read the part about being in "serious condition". I tried to delete or edit the comment afterwords, but it would not allow it. You may recall a heated debate about the Obama's citizenship issue today. It was (obviously) still on my mind when I read "Hawaii". Apologies to all
