It saved millions of lives, both American and Japanese, including both of my grandfathers, one who was on Okinawa when it was dropped and the other who was in Germany training for the invasion of Japan. They were both glad it was dropped. It was time to end what they had started. Sad day To remember ? A day to remember, yes. A sad day, sorry, I don’t think so. 2

It was estimated that a million people would have died if we invaded Japan. SAD? I don't think so what America did was an act of mercy. You should remember August 6th with fear and reverence. Japan blatantly attacked America, on a Sunday no less. Just like a coward actually afraid to come on a Monday and get a real fight. And for their cowardice we rose up and invented the most powerful weapon known to man. Then we dropped it on their sorry butts, not once but TWICE. And why did we do that? To show the rest of the COWARDLY world that IF YOU F@%! WITH US, YOU DIE. 1

Always sad when innocent people die because of the action of their government. In retrospect, the birth of the greatest generation was born out of the threat of tyranny....setting the standard for future generations of Americans, holding onto those standards are another thing all together. Time will tell. GO RV, then BV

Evil people are like Shiite and float to the top. Then when they're in charge they command good people to fight and die. Personally I think they do just for fun.
