That would be one heck of an illustration to view.

It sure would, Patty!

I'm very impressed and encouraged by the quality and depth of these types of messages.

We are not alone.  :twothumbs:

Great video.......as some of you may know, for Christmas I bought my husband a new AR15.   We both carry and usually target practice on weekends except for the winter months.  I've not tried out his new toy yet but after reading about the home invasion in Oklahoma where the guy shot 3, he (my husband) decided that tomorrow will be my big day!  I'm pretty excited but have a little anxiety also.  My mind is sorta racing about the rapid fire and just ease of the trigger.  I'm feel confident that I will be smiling after a couple of clips but the anticipation is truly a wonder for me right now........ We'll see, hear and smell tomorrow, hands are a little sweaty right now talking about it but it's a GOOD sweat, I guess.   Just gotta get some time under my belt with this thing before I can call it my 2nd best friend!

Elderly Man’s Home Broken Into 13 Times, He Stops Last One With a Bullet

“I hate that boy dead, but I don't hate I shot him.”

Here’s yet another violent crime stopped by a legal gun owner.

John Croft, 79, has lived in Center Point, Alabama, for 21 peaceful years. That is until last year when the break-ins started. According to WBRC 6 News, Croft’s home has been broken into 13 times since last summer.

“I’ve been a prisoner in my house,” Croft said.

On Wednesday at 1:15 a.m., it happened again. But this time, Mr. Croft was ready:

“When I heard the noise, that's when they opened the window from the basement coming to the level where the bedrooms are,” he recalled.

Jefferson County deputies say there were two men inside. Another, driving the getaway car, waited outside.

“I have three bedrooms. I think they checked the other two bedrooms out and then he came over there and said, 'Don't move!' He heard the bed squeaking. I was getting my gun. He said, 'Don't move' and he used that ‘N’ word and I shot,” Croft recounted later Wednesday.

“I hate that boy dead, but I don't hate I shot him.”

Croft says he didn't know it at the time, but the suspect had shot him too, hitting him in the ankle.

When he spoke to WBRC, Croft was sympathetic for the young man’s mother.

“I just hate to meet this mother because this was a teenager,” the man said, “And there's nothing as precious to a mother as a son. And you know what's been happening to black boys today. For another black man to shoot one, that just doesn’t look good. But like I say, I had no choice.”

Croft told police he thinks that the robbers were friends of another young man that he knows.

Police are not charging Mr. Croft, as he was “well within his rights to defend himself and his property.”

Friendly correction ma'am.

as my training instructor told me (read screamed in my face) that ain't not clip dirt bag! That is a magazine! Drop and give me 100!

100????  I'm afraid 3 and a half would probably be my best but thank you for the correction.  I'm sure there will be much correction, instruction and SCOLDING today also.   Not sure why I feel so anxious about this, hopefully my mind will rest tonight and I can feel a sigh of relief and security.  Thanks for the correct terminology..

WHN,  I can only imagine the torment that Mr Croft's mind and heart must be facing, as for me to shoot and kill someone would be and have a ever lasting effect on me.  But I also believe with all my heart that God gives us the strength, courage and want to protect ourselves and loved ones.  I can only pray that I will never have to use my weapon in a protective way but if I must I have prepared myself to do so.  My little revolver has become second nature to me and our shot guns are only arm lengths away.  I just hope I can and will feel the same way about this AR.  The more one is exposed to and practices with the more one feels natural and at ease with.   I was sorta hoping for rain today but Rog said rain or shine, it's time!!!!
