stargazer55
I spoke with a couple of TD Bank representatives yesterday concerning selling & cashing in Dinar at their branches. No problem buying it but, still some uncertainty as far as cashing in. It appears that they may not have any De La Rue machines at any of their branches. In fact, the way my local branch verifies the dinar is by comaring each individual bill against a computer image. I was told that, in the end, the bills are shipped out and verified by a 3rd party before the deposit is finally verified & credited to your account.Anyone hear anything different? Thanks! bobstick
I also heard it's a two week turn-around to actually get your cash.
larsonv
Most of the international banks that traded theIQD previously still have the De La Rue machines. Those that don't will do as you explained ship it off for verification, est. 2 to 3 days. If you need to know specific banks google them to gain a list and then check. Hope this helps you. tgar
I was told cap 1 that they would take them issue a receipt send them to N. O. by courrier, there they would be verified de la rue and account would be credited for amount. This process should only take 3-4 working days. Colonel1004
Basically the same here at my small country bank in Central Alabama. Send to some International Currency agency they do business with in California. Wire the money back. 2 to 3 days turn around.
riversidetoursandtravel
Compass Bank will exchange them but it will take two to three days as they ship them off to the Federal Reserve as most banks do. 5/3 Bank will not charge any money to exchange them as long as you have an account but it takes about a week.

I'm just trying to gather as much info in order to have as many options open and to be able to choose the best course or courses of action if and when an RV occurs. stargazer55
Banks will not touch IQD until it is internationally traded currency. Not according to the reps I spoke with at TD yesterday. They will both sell & cash in but, credit won't be given until the bills are verified which may several days to more than a week. Also, one rep said that you needed to have an account with them. Another never mentioned it. I spoke with several reps at different branches along with a rep from the home office. What our local branch does when buying is take your order for Dinar and it is delivered within 2 to 3 business days.If you were to look at TD's website IQD is not listed along with the rest of the currency they deal in. I mentioned that to all the folks from TD and they all were aware of it. They have their own internal list. Also, the reason I contacted TD in the first place was from another post here where I read that the author had been buying IQD from TD recently. Seems like a handy way to pick some up. Gnar_boarder
Ali will be changing money for us if you want. I plan on going to him in probably Bakersfield...anyway here is an e-mail he sent me in response to my question of "what should i do when it RV's where should I change my money" Here is the e-mail:-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Dinar Trade procedures for cashing in dinars once the RV occursWhen you are ready to cash in your dinars with Dinar Trade:Call 1-877-770-7660 or 661-472-8510 to make an appointment. Let us know which office you would like to go to in order to make the trade. At the time of the appointment inform us of the number of people in your group and the total amount of dinars you will be cashing in.You will need the following:2 ID’s (one with a picture and one with your name on it for example credit card or utility bill)Fincen 104 form ( http://www.fincen.gov/forms/files/fin104_ctr.pdf ) if you don’t have one we have it at our offices .Bank incoming wire instructions ( ABA Routing number and Account number)We will wire the funds form our bank account here in the U.S to your bank while you wait at the time of exchange.Dinar Trade will charge $150 per million dinars as a service fee for cashing the dinars. As for the exchange rate it will depend on the rate in Iraq at that time. We will let you know the rate on the phone but it will not be confirmed until you show up at our office at the time of exchange. We encourage everyone to check all the banks who will be exchanging dinars and their rates before calling us (we are pretty sure we will beat their rates). At this time we have 3 offices open :Brentwood, Tennessee...Bakersfield, California...Santa Monica CaliforniaOnce the RV occurs we will have the following locations open within 7 days.As we open the other locations we will post the addresses on our website www.dinartrade.com contact us page.Locations to be open:Manhattan, NYSpring hill, FLFT Smith, ARWaxahachie, TXAlbuquerque, NMGrand Forks NDLas Vegas NVToledo OHWe will not disclose the address until the above locations are open.If you would like to exchange before a location is open near you will have to come to our office in TN or CA.We will be able to make appointments for all locations as soon as the RV occurs. We estimate that you will not have to wait more than 3 days when you make the appointment. We will accommodate on a first come first serve basis.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------That is the meat and potatoes from Ali's e-mail. The way I see it 150 bucks per million is a pretty good exchange rate...especially when banks will be taking a set % from the exchange that would likely end up being much higher than 150$ per million. So...when this RV happens, you will likely find me in Bakersfield and then after that who knows where you will be able to find me!
chickadee
I went to a Chase Bank in Arizona and they told me they have a book that they compare the bills to, but they also send the dinar off to be verified. Said it could be up to 10 day turn around.

stoger1
Sounds like the best way to go is with Ali at Dinar Trade. Do you need to setup an account with Dinar Trade to exchange it?? My bank said they would have to send it off for a $15.00 fee to check it's authenticity and then of course there is a % they get for the exchange. stargazer55
Our only concern that we all should have at this point is, when/if it rv'sI respectfully disagree. While I think most of us would like it to occur immediately, there's little or nothing any of us here can do to influence the process. In that area, all we can do is watch & wait. In the meantime, the best thing to do is to make ourselves thoroughly aware of all the avenues & methods available for us to capitalize on the event. In that way, we can develop plans that are individually tailored to maximize our gains & minimize risk. Here's to hoping that the RV is beneficial to both us and the citizens of Iraq.
