Are we in a post-Christian age in America ??

Boy you put that mildly...

A shame "Christians" don't know much of European history. If they did, they would not try to inject religion into politics here in this country. The religious wars claims millions of lives and people were tortured and persecuted because people could not agree on religion.

Now American Christians want to repeat that here with idiocy like having Texas school books say there is no evolution and

no global climate change and we need more guns so people won't shoot each other......and during the Iraq war General Boykin went around claiming "our God is stonger than their evil Allah"...a general in the military...amazing.

It would be nice if Christians were more Christ-like.

Christians know a great deal about the religions of Europe and the "wars" that religion waged.  However, on examination of those wars and the religion that spawned them, you will discover that they violated the biblical teaching and  were far from Christian.  Ignorance of the biblical teaching of Christ and His followers allowed for the intrusion of human teaching to control the churches.  With human teaching and the ignorance of biblical guidance the apostate church warred against anyone not accepting their teaching, but the apostate church is far from the "body of Christ."

Texas school books do not state there is no evolution, they simply include the alternative view of creationism.  Certainly you would want your children presented with both sides of a theory wouldn't you?  Not much of an education unless you do!  Same on the global climate change and the "right to bear arms."  However, the "right to bear arms" has to do with the Constitution.  Or you saying that we should throw out the Constitution?  And replace it with what?

About the Christian being more Christ-like, can you explain what you mean?  Do you understand Christ and what He was like? (Not trying to be rude, but just want to know what you know about the Christ, the Lord God.)

The overturning of DOMA was a response to Christians trying to control everyone else - essentially an un-American effort.

You see, America was founded on FREEDOM. That means you can't tell me who I can and can't love.

It's truly VERY SIMPLE idea. Can you comprehend that?

Apparently not.

The Christian do not try to control anyone.  The belief in Christ as God causes the saints of God to willingly become servants to Him.  Christians follow the teaching of the Spirit of God to direct their lives and are NOT controlled by the fleshly desires.  Don't unwittingly and ignorantly compare Christian freedom and liberty with the political freedom of the US Constitution.  There is an abundance of political freedom and religious freedom in the established government.  Many religions of all flavors have come to America for that freedom.  And we respect and tolerate other beliefs in the country.  What we do not tolerate are the abuses by those religions of those freedoms and guidelines established by the US government.  Nor does Christian "tolerance" mean we must accept the tenets of those religions which contradict and violate biblical teaching.  Personally, I think that a religion is free to believe whatever they want to believe, but I will not accept the immoral, the biblically wrong headed teaching, nor abuse of established civil law, nor physical abuse of those incline to believe differently.

Now if that means that Christians are intolerant and not Christ-like, then I suggest you know very little about Christ.

***///

the progressive agenda pushes FORWARD with it's mission to enslave the masses.

they want to eliminate the ability of Christian Charity to care for our own neighbors,

thereby forcing them to be dependent on their system 100% so they can have complete control.

Same reason they do not want us to have our own gardens.

Same reason they send their IRS to stop charities.

Same reason they want to control and illegitimize Veteran's Groups and Christian Charities.

They want to control the FOOD, the MEDICINE, the LAND, the PEOPLE.

they are methodically eradicating any form of INDEPENDENCE.

COMPLETE CONTROL BY THE PROGRESSIVE STATE IS THEIR GOAL.

It is upon the hearts of believers to care for our brothers in need, its called charity.  Charity is a virtue of the heart, which we are to share God's blessings with others in need.

This administration disproves of our charities, believes that Big government is to care for everyone.  So the money taken from citizens are with the ruse of giving to those in need.  The government has no right to take away your right to choose how, when and what we should spend our hard earned money on.

It is not charity, it is socialism.

So gals you are right in saying that the progressive agenda pushes FORWARD with its mission to enslave the masses.

Remember, we must understand that when this administration uses the word FORWARD, there meaning behind it is a total different meaning then what the American people think it is.  Words are being redefined, there is deception in his plans and it is in plain site.

We can not go FORWARD with this administration.

As to the "idiocy of no evolution" Hame may I suggest that "you" need to get educated yourself two of the "leading evolutionary theorists have openly admitted that "...Darwin is dead BECAUSE the trade secret of palentology is that transitional life forms DO NOT EXIST..." they then go on to propose two "new" theories of evolution 1) directed pan-spermia = long ago from a galaxy far far away the seeds of life were blasted to the earth 2) punctuated equilibrium aka "the hopeful monster theory" = the first bird came from a snake's eggs ....say what....

try this on for size  " In the beginning GOD !!

no more need be said

BTW for the record the theorists are Nils Ethridge and Stephen Jay Gould

Good post Patty.  How one defines words fundamental in understanding meaning; it doesn't matter what culture you're in.  Just ask any lawyer or debater.

Very important point in the discussion!  Thanks.

The more I listen to his speeches and the words that he uses, I began to understand that what many believe he is speaking about is not the truth, what he is actually saying.  Yet by his definitions of words or terms, he is speaking the truth of what he intends.  Through the use of his corruption of words and language.... it can be very dangerously deceiving.

Oooops I plus'd myself, I meant to plus Nelg and EagleEye.  Although I do like my post.  LOL!!!

Pastor EE our prayer's were answered my friend !

http://lovewins.info/2013/08/thanks-for-bringing-back-our-breakfast/

Today Love Wins Ministries shared breakfast with approximately 100 people, many of whom are experiencing homelessness or food insecurity. This is a continuation of a promise we have kept to our community for the last six years.

We and the people we minister among are pleased that the Mayor and City Council have chosen to not enforce the ordinance that prohibits the sharing of food with people, thus ensuring that people of good will can make up for the gap in social services that exists on the weekends. We recognize that this is not a permanent solution, but merely the first step toward making Raleigh a truly hospitable city.

religion and Christianity are two different things..... don't get it twisted...

thanks for all the responses...I will try to fix the link

I agree 100% Religion is a concept!  True Christianity is of GOD.  I believe that Religion was conceived by the Devil and put into the thoughts of man, It's one of his cleverest ideas called (DECEPTION).

I just don't see this as religious persecution.  I see it as a response to the complaints of the business owners of the area.  Put yourselves in their shoes...what if this homeless population were camped out on your front lawn or place of business?  Would you be happy picking up food containers everyday?  Not to mention they use your front lawn as a toilet and are sleeping in your driveway/parking lot.  Friends and family or customers no longer come by because they fear for their safety.  You have to step over sleeping people to get to your car or into your front door, the list of complaints is a long one. Go ask any librarian in a major downtown metropolitan area.

Yes, they need help, food, shelter and medication but it shouldn't be brought to an area of commerce thereby encouraging them to stay in that area.  I don't know what the best solution for taking care of the homeless is.  I doubt the church will throw their doors wide open and encourage them to come and eat and sleep in the gym for as long as they want.
