UNEXPLAINABLE, INEXCUSABLE

Recommended Posts

I wanted to give you +1,000,000 Master Yota. I served for more than 20 years with most of my time in Spec Ops and it angers me that these yahoos, who risk NOTHING get an incredible (read criminal) retirement. Just one more episode of the fleecing of the American people. Term limits are the solution to a lot of these type problems. Complete your term and return to the John Q Public role paying all the same taxes we do. There is no coincidence that the words WE THE PEOPLE are the largest words on the page. WE THE PEOPLE need to step to the plate and vote these yahoos out of office after the completion of every term. A people controlled term limit if you will.

Our men in women put thier life on the line everyday for you and me.they serve without asking for anything special and most don't want the attention to be on them,AND THIS IS THE WAY OUR GOVERNMENT TREATS OUR NATIONS BEST.WE THE PEOPLE OF THIS GREAT NATION SHOULD BE ASHAMED TO LET THIS HAPPEN.WE HAVE LOST OUR WAY.

It's very sad how we treat our own people, especially the ones who have made the ultimate sacrafices serving our country. God bless our people and God bless our military. Thank you to all of those who have served or are currently serving. I for one appreciate all you do for my family and I.

UNEXPLAINABLE, INEXCUSABLE

I challenge you to read this and NOT have the will to click share.

No one has been able to explain to me why young men and women serve in the U.S. Military for 20 years, risking their lives protecting freedom, and only get 50% of their pay. While Politicians hold their political positions in the safe confines of the capital, protected by these same men and women, and receive full pay retirement after serving one term. It just does not make any sense.

If each person that reads this will click share, in three days, most people in the United States of America will have the message.. This is one proposal that really should be passed around.

Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution:

"Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States ."

It is terrible.

The pols in this country need to be cleaned out - it's like the Augean stables in DC

We need some kind of reset.

What I see as the even greater travesty is these brave men and women are being used to take over countries overseas for bigbusiness and they are told it is for freedom. And then they get 50% pay  - truly amazing they try to get away with this.

***///

We witness this all too often.  ONCE is too often.

Our hearts break.

Washington turns away and attends yet another political fundraiser,

garnering millions for themselves whilst Our Heroes suffer.

Still not angry enough to go to the polls in November and clean house...?

Sit down and pen a form letter to every single Candidate running on your Ballot,

regardless of party affiliation -----

Enclose a copy of this thread.  Wait for a response.

Then decide.

It'd be worth the stamps, wouldn't it...?

Why? because we AGREED to the terms of the contract. I took-up the challenge and joined the Marines for low pay, crappy food, mistreatment and lousy work conditions. I, as an ADULT, agreed to that. No one forced me into the Jarheads. I volunteered. So, I get what I agreed to. Yeah, it sucks, but guess what? If you don't like the terms offered, DONT sign the contract. The only persons who can piss and moan are the ones who were conscripted. They didn't volunteer. They were forced into the military against their will.  What does "my country" owe me? ZERO, outside of what is stated in the contract terms/warrantees . I did my time, was medically-retired and sent to medical school on their bill. As far as I am concerned, we're EVEN. Yeah, I get a pension, but it is a pension (however small) that I agreed to. There was no "slight of hand" or "treachery" on their part. Full disclosure given. For those to complain about their lives after service, TOO EFFING BAD. Shouldn't have joined. If it never occurred to you that you might loose a limb or other body part, be exposed to dangers, see terrible things-well, you're pretty much an IDIOT. Should have become a politician or are more honorable profession like bank robber! So, as they used to say to us in the Marines, "Dry it up, sissy-boys".

Sorry, but this really gets my goat. For those who did serve-THANK YOU. For those who didn't-THANK YOU (the terms of the contact didn't appeal to you so that's the way it goes). Free to choose with whom you contract with, as written in the Constitution.

Hey doc - I guess I didn't realize you were one of Uncle Sams Misguided Children. Thanks for serving.  Most of my mortar section in the National Guard was former Marine (notice I used the correct term). I answered to Gunny as often as I answered to Segeant First Class - and I know the difference between Hooah! and Ooorah!. Had a former DI who declared me to be a Devil Pup! *lol*

I would like to point something else out that most people aren't aware of - and I'm not complaining just pointing out a fact.

As a member of the Reserve (be it Army or Air National Guard, Army, Navy Marine Corps or Air Force Reserve) you are elegible to retire at 20 years of service - same as the Active duty.  Of course, we don't get the same amount of retirement pay.  Calculation of pay depends on total number of days of duty during that time - and on average it's not the kind of money you can retire on, but it is a nice supplemental amount to another retirement. Totally makes sense when you look at that part.

However - if you retire at your 20 year mark - lets say you came in (for the sake of the math) at 20.  You retire at 40 as an E-7.  This will be around a $600 a month check for most reserve retirees - that they won't get for another 20 years.

As a reservist, you can't draw you retirment until you reach age 60, unlike active duty where the month after you retire, you can start to draw your retirement. That's one of the reasons you see so many older Reservists.  Might as well, as we say, "rack up the points" while you can, since you can't get the money anyway. Just something that most people aren't aware of.  This has been brought before congress since the late 70's, and this has never been change, because it would cost too much.

Imagine that....

Thank you for serving also, Tankguy. Yeah, misguided indeed. I remember all my co-workers pissin and moaning about all kinds of stuff. Complaining of the pay (low, WAY low), suck-a$$ chow (used to eat those C-rats), too much work, not enough time off. I was right there with them. But you know? I could have been a productive member of society instead of joining the SUCK. I FREELY joined. Hell, I was dumb enough to join at 17! I truly expected to be dead by 22. Really had it in my mind. My father (God rest his soul), put 26 years in the Moorines and told me, "Well, if you're that stupid to join, I'll sign the papers". I had already 2 years of college, graduated early and in the top 10 of my class, scholarships to all over (eventually went to Berkeley for Chemistry on a full scholarship), but I VOLUNTEERED to join that organization. I freely  went where they told me and did the things I was expected to do. Broke my back, ruined my shoulders and lost a few teeth. And STILL I feel they owe me ZERO. Gave up my youth. Part of my health and I got what I CONTRACTED for. People who complain about military life (besides the USUAL pissin and moanin-thats normal!) I hold in the same regard as those who get upset that Oakies 1millionth RV prediction didn't come true. SHADDD UP! You either man-up or shut-up. Next time, READ THE EFFING CONTRACT before you sign it!!!! (I told you, this really gets me going! hahahaha) I even get pissed that military personal, not living overseas, get to shop in tax-free BX/PX, etc. It is subsided by the government-just like EFFING SOCIALISM. Only draped with a flag to hide the fact my taxes are paying you to get crap cheaper just because you're in the military. You (not anyone personally-just using the pronoun) think you should get more respect for serving then someone serving burgers at McD's?? At least, they are FULLY productive. The same goes for cops and fire-fighters. Instead of being unproductive members of society, why not find a REAL job and PRODUCE something society can use? Special, my a$$! just like my dear papa said, "Stupid enough to join....." You get what you signed-up for. Buyers remorse? Tought SH---!

OK, my rant is over! Thanks for reading. I hope I pissed off some patriotic-socialist.
