Butifldrm
A source close to the prime minister's office for important decisions will be announced soon, pointing out that they include cutting trade ties with Turkey. Yesterday on FOX, I heard they were holding an emergency NATO meeting over yesterday's bombing by Syria into Turkey, . Now Iraq just joined NATO, in some capacity, so I wonder how cutting economic ties with Turkey, will go over with the International Community. Maliki has a huge grudge against Turkey, IMO, because of Hashemi. Maliki also appears to be alligning himself with Russia and China, who are alligning with Syria on international issues. How this will all play out is going to be interesting, but I believe, if Maliki survives this term it will be his last.
Shelley
I wonder what Barzani and the Kurds feel about this, since they are the region that actually have a trade business with Turkey. Maliki loves to stir the pot !!!!

Your absolutely correct, Maliki wants to get rid of the Kurds. They just don't fit and they're a snag to his plans.
S.FITZ
Foolish move on the part of Iraq. Turkey plus allies vs. Iraq, Iran et al, plus Israel 's very strong &positive influence ; all in the big picture of Libya, Egypt & Syria.....Not the way to build a strong, "democracy", economy or "world influential currency!
