KamelKeeper
Thanks for the article, Steve. My initial thought is that if Maliki did not think there was any possibility he would replaced or voted out, he woud not show up for a meeting like this, and just fill up the moat. I am speculating, but maybe he realizes his days are numbered, and he has come to negotiate a deal: the villa at Lake Como, the cash bonus, Gulfstream access, dry cleaning allowance, all new neckties are to made of silk and not hemp, you know, the basics. Subscribed to the above. +1 The outcome of this gathering should be very interesting. I would imagine in the next few hours we will start to see some press releases, with a double dose of spin. uncirculd
"rely on the Constitution, being source for decision making, on which current government has been formed on." I wonder if Maliki knows his government is illegal. He didn't win the vote, Allawi succeeded under the Erbil agreement because He allowed Maliki to form a majority (constitution says ruling party can only PM) and does Maliki remember that Sadr got him that majority, and does he remember that the strategic council was part of that agreement and that he only had 30 days from the day Talabani announced him PM to get a fully seated government. What an ungrateful ingrate.
